What a great interview. Matthew - you are so articulate and your passion for dance and UofM comes across so clearly. I cannot wait to see how well you all dance at UDAs this year. I am a proud Larkin mom and enjoy watching all of you young, talented dancers do so well.

I remember when I first discovered how good the U of M team was in 2015/6 when I was applying for colleges..it made me wanna apply to that school just because I wanted to try out 😂 so much talent! Great interview!

Loved this episode! I was Captain of my college dance team and we were considered a club/extra curricular activity so I resonated with pretty much every thing she said. 👏🏾

12:55 I agree! It’s TIRED now. This isn’t “school dance team” related but it’s related…I was at World of Dance Chicago and the junior division champions (Move Out Loud) did a very clean hip hop routine with ZERO tricks! It was refreshing to see 😊👏🏾

27:43 YES! I teach at a studio that strictly focuses on hip hop so I get annoyed when they have a clean routine but the feeling/groove/movement is lacking

I love Stephen but I feel the judges are so picky with him. The judges are really annoying because they're so inconsistent with their critiques and scoring. Stephen is better than the critiques they're giving him imo

She's such a strong woman, her lines were smoother and I think she's becoming more emotionally in tune with the music and Alan. This is my favorite dance of theirs so far.

I love this partnership. I think this could be Jenna's year. (I know she won before but that season was so short)

I loved this routine and I loved the wardrobe trick. Chandler has enormous potential but Brandon has to be outstanding like Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Maks and Val, Tony Dovaloni are/were. A few of the men's pros are lackluster and when you watch videos of the goats dancing, they're so much sharper. Brandon has a ringer and all he's got to do is step it up. The wardrobe trick was the perfect timing for them to kick it up a notch. I miss the old DWTS Seriously, Chandler seems like the pro here 😂

I don't think she'll win with Brandon, he's not a very good choreographer because he gets through the dances but he doesn't take care of details, like teaching them to point their feet, finish their lines, etc

Awww I was on occ for the 2014-2015 year! Dan was the best coach and we won 4th in jazz and 1st in open Pom! I have noticed the change and hope they can start to come back up! So happy you fell in love with occ and I also fell in love with the 2011 routine like YES I’m going there! 🤍 love you!

My daughter danced for Dan Sapp and OCC. They have not been the same since Dan left OCC in 2018. My daughter was on his National Pom winner when she was there and Dan was also the choreographer for the D1 and the D1A teams that won that year! She was also blessed enough to win a World title in Pom at Worlds with Dan's PACE elite team and some Jazz medals too. He was the BEST!

OCC alum here from 08/09 and I totally agree! I would loveeeee to see them come back on top!

I have LSU Hip Hop taking it home this year. That routine was clean and entertaining to watch today. Also hoping Memphis is top 3, I miss seeing them win.

Lindenwood moved to D1 this year.

Hofstra is one of the most athletic teams in the whole competition. Very excited to see them this year!

i feel like Minnesota will sweep Jazz, but idk bc Ohio’s “surprise element” could either go gimmicky or you could either fall in love with it…Minnesota Pom this year is FAST, and fun, they have break down moments, layering, and crazy group work….Pom will be close tho, but Ohio is classic…so excited for UNLV Jazz and UVU…I want an upset SO BAD in any division like a 2023 3rd/4th place get 1st 😅…Duluth, Mankato, St.Cloud, LAWDDDD im stressed, I want LSU to comeback for that title, but if feel like a lot of the Hip-Hop teams are very very similar is execution and personally I think it’s more about how to SELL the dance…like get LOW and in the pocket…I want Hofstra to win Pom.

Looking forward to seeing what NAU is going to bring in D1 hip hop this year especially with their choreographer!!
