    • @virtuascore
      @virtuascore Год назад

      @markveganism5003 I was referring to the action the pistol supports, eg Single Action is when the pistol is racked to set the hammer or striker and then the trigger is pulled and the gas system resets the trigger in a 'Single Action' Double action is when the trigger pull operates the hammer and fires the pistol in the same sequence (eg without any Co2 gas to operate the re-cocking of the pistol after firing) eg in a Double Action mode. You can Google the difference between Single and Double action for a better explanation than above

    • @virtuascore
      @virtuascore 2 года назад

      @Richard Storm Great question, I think in my case it could be due to the way i use these pistols, I do a lot of dry-firing both with and without Co2 the latter being double-action shots. I am not sure if that level of trigger spring use is a direct cause, but it might be for my use case. Not sure either if the spring steel is of a high quality on these Umarex pistols based on their perceived usage, as some of these replica pistols are simply bought for collections or have very limited use

    @Virtuascore Fantastic video and tutorial! I'm amazed at how similar some of the umarex guts are "similar" to the real beretta 92 firearm, and more importantly, how different it is to accommodate bbs. For example, there are NO screws in the real firearm (other than holding the grips) nor a separately applied structure around the trigger. As for similar, the trigger return spring looks similar as well as the trigger bar spring and the slide release spring. Do you think you can do a tutorial how to separate the inner barrel from the outer barrel so that many of us can correct our guns shooting low right which is a common issue with these BB guns. Rather than mess with the fixed sights, my idea is to separate the inner barrel and slightly wedge it up with tape and right near the muzzle to compensate. From what I can tell, it looks pinned into the outer barrel in two places.

    • @virtuascore
      @virtuascore 2 года назад

      @Paul's Tool Review thanks for watching the video, I appreciate your feedback. You may of picked up from my channel that i only use these air pistols for laser target shooting on virtual simulators, no BB's fired. However I have seen videos and heard other owners of this Umarex Bereta air pistol having the common issue of POI being low and right as you have described. I will take a look at the barrel assembly and report back with a video of what I discover. I know the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 has two distinct parts to the barrel assembly, but never examined the Beretta replica. Thanks for bring this to my attention and thanks again for your feedback.

    can you make a course where the target starts at 25 yds and ends at 2yds and maintains your final score? All I have seen is the opposite, they start near and end far.

      @Ralph B I am pretty sure you can setup a course of fire as you described, however I will fire up the M-Range 2 simulator I have and confirm this for you, when I get a chance. I would post a video however my camera has decided to give-up and I have been waiting to be in a position to replace it with something better. Let me check the M-Range 2 and report back, just to confirm it is the new M-Range 2 simulator you're referring to and not the old version?

      @Ralph B Checkout the latest video ruclips.net/video/_7PPrgfKF38/видео.html hope this helps with your question on setting up targets from far to near within the M-Range 2.0 simulator, raises some interesting points on functionality for Laser Ammo to port over from the old M-Range to the latest 2.0 version.

    You seem to have a lot of the Add ones. I just got the basic package but what are your favorites? Have you tried the vst pro 2 for smokeless range at all?

      @JohnK Yep went from the basic package with camera included (short-throw version) and it was during Covid lockdown as I could not get any on range time at my local club, and I became an instant fan of the simulator target shooting and started to acquire the add-ons simulators. My favourites are the ones that have decent score capture capabilities like the IPSC and Steel Challenge, as you might of seen I have a setup online to capture scores from certain Smokeless Range 2.0 simulators and I have started to build my own (basic simulators) checkout www.virtuascore.com it's a new concept that I built to allow score capture for practice sessions and informal match scores recorded daily against other simulator shooters for a bit of fun and friendly competitive scoring leader boards. Happy trigger time 👍

    Interesting looking system, though I would recommend you bring that laser up higher to the bore axis. You've got a hell of a lot of excess 3d printed material in between the laser head and rail clamp space. I would even argue that instead of having a solid mass hanging off the bottom, have the entire system incorporated directly into a removable barrel section (blowback model depending) for true line of sight/line of fire. Ditch the USB recharge and go for LR44 power supply. Yes it means having to replace LR's when they go dead, but depending on how you control power distribution, a few LR's will easily last 500+ shots as most of the commercial laser training emitters/receivers only need 15ms to 30ms red dot pulse. And an ATTiny + red dot laser module + LR44's will easily fit inside a removable barrel system. Also, if it's sensitive to vibration, how sensitive is it to mag reloads? Also means a re-load / slide release would induce a false shot being sent out towards a target. That is one of the MAJOR flaws of the Laser Ammo Spider - just tapping the back of the slide is enough to set off the Spider. Another flaw with red dot systems in general, is seeing a red dot placement will encourage bad shooting habits by simply "walking" the shot in. Far better to use a 780nm laser. That's what I've done with my own DIY built arduino based system.

      @Ned Kelly Great observations and thanks for taking the time to comment. I initially developed the system as a way to understand how these systems work such as the Laser Ammo products which I purchased. The goal was to build a system comprising of both the actual laser component, vibration sensor and electronics used to detect the gas-blow-back air pistol vibration or even from the vibration of the hammer fall on a double action pistol (no gas), to the IR camera system and software used to detect the laser splashes on a projected screen. Your points regarding building a compact system to replace the removable barrel assembly is one I have been thinking about, rather than a rail attached system, especially with the benefit of the bore axis alignment and zeroing of the laser. Again you are spot on with the vibration being triggered by mag loads and other handling of the pistol during use, it’s a bit of a trade-off for these types of systems but one I think can be managed during use but certainly agree it’s not ideal. In respect to laser types I have recently built systems using only IR lasers in both near infrared 780nm and full IR 850nm and have good success testing to date with both types. I agree these are far better than visible lasers and like you explained is counterproductive to good shooting habits where a shooter will use the visible laser splashes to adjust subsequent shots. My initial aim was to develop a prototype as a proof of concept to lower the cost of home ownership to those who would like to own a laser target system but find current marketed solutions too costly when aimed at police and military customers with deep pockets. The idea is to provide DIY solution for end-users as close as can be accomplished with off the shelf parts, but also identify there are those not wanting to completely build their own DIY system so would look to see if a kit form could be possible or even a complete built system, just some ideas at present. Thanks again for your feedback, it’s much appreciated and I will certainly look to taking some of your advice on board in my next prototype versions as I develop the system going forward. Thanks for watching the video 👍

      Had a ganders on Aliexpress for those unbranded laser bullets that look like the laser ammo stuff, and you should be able to find the firing pin activated end caps that go with them. Those end caps contain tiny little spring controlled push switches. Depending on how you approach it, you could strip it down to make the spring weaker so as to allow the sudden gas pressure to push against said end cap to initiate the laser. Benefit of that would mean almost zero false shots when reloading, releasing the slide etc. Or even a micro pressure sensor inside the breach area tuned to only activate when a certain pressure threshold is reached.

      Almost forgot, I also thought I jad to use multiple grub screws to adjust windage/elevation. I soon discoverd I only needed 2. One for wind, other for ele. I have my red dot module housed inside a thin walled plastic tube and sealed, and them have a small rubber washer at the opposite end of the laser, with the washer bore hole squeezed around the tube's end. Then have that little assembly slid tightly down a larger "barrel". You can then use just 2 grub screws to aligh as rubber washer acts as a counter force to the screws. I got that idea after ripping apart one of those chinese laser aiming sights. Every part that can be removed is an easier product to operate.

      I looked at Aliexpress and have yet to order any parts for evaluation from them. I have mostly sourced my laser modules from Digikey Electronics the ones I use are Quartron <1mW laser diodes. I did see a similar laser diode module that contains a spring to connect power to a coin-cell battery which is a nice compact style but these are affected by this semiconductor shortage at present so I am yet to get my hands on these. I did consider the gas pressure of the blow-back air pistols operation as a possible way to trigger a device, it does seem a viable solution. My only issue with these air pistols either using Co2 capsules or Green gas as a propellant is the lack of shots per fill. I much prefer pistols with double-action operation and rely on the vibration of the hammer fall to trigger the device, that way I get unlimited shots. However I realise the issue of accuracy of shooting that style over single-action operation and it’s not for everyone, but I find it better for my shooting sessions and I do not need to worry about gas supplies, however I do still use gas blow back on my striker-fired Glock 17 Gen 4 and my Colt single action pistols. Nice approach on the elevation and windage adjustments, I have a cruder setup of two windage grub screws for manual adjustment and a single elevation grub screw in the 6 o’clock position with an opposing spring to provide tension and adjustment from 12 o’clock position. I am also relying on my software to provide an additional laser zero process. How this works is once you have a mechanical zero you are happy with you can shoot three shots (POA) at a projected simulator target bullseye and the software adjusts the hits to the target bullseye (POA) from their actual POI of the laser hits. This allows the shooter to obtain the best possible zero before engaging the simulator targets. Sounds like you have a great system for your needs, I am no electrical or mechanical engineer more of a garage tinkerer but I do like building these systems and enjoy the challenges you face when doing so. I have recently had my first printed circuit boards produced to move away from my DIY circuit board constructions and it’s great to see these more professional etched boards developed and become a reality, just working on a SMD circuit design to replace the DIP package IC I started with, so that should afford me more space to shrink down my design and look at other design approaches. Its great hearing from someone else who has an interest in the home laser target shooting setups, keep up the great work.

      On the 3 shot POI, how will your system differentiate between someone shooting straight ie upright and directly forwards, as opposed to someone shooting from around an obstacle such as a chair etc? Shooting from around obstacles always results in the weapon being slanted either to the left or the right. I can't see how the 3 shot POI can recognise that.
