2024 Coles Fun Pit TORCS | SUMMER BREAK IS OVER!
I was thinking this trail doesn't look too bad......up until around that 5:27 mark, then of course your mishap on a ROCK @7:38 THAT is exactly why I hate rocks! LOL Glad you didn't get hurt! What # trail is this at CTOR so I know never to get on it! haha
That first trail has a lot of roots and rocks on it. I think it depends on what level you are on how comfortable you would be. I think trail #2 is a little easier, even though it has. More elevation change. That starts at 20:58. #3 is the easiest but it’s not in this video.
Thanks for the update. You are getting along well with that bike. Guy Burkhart is responsible for the new sections, thanks for his efforts. Passing zones coming soon.
Love the bike!! I’m feeling more comfortable on it. It’s a fun trail to ride.
I miss spoaks one of the reasons moving from Hutto was hard. Still looks amazing out there.
Spoaks has like 7 different things to ride on. It’s definitely fun place.
@unlimitedmoto40 I used to love shaking bikes out there, did the old loop on an Africa Twin lol
Would like to get to Spoaks some time next week but the temp seems to be dropping again.....and I'm sensitive to the cold! LOLOLOLOL Heading out to ride Vista Loop and maybe one other trail tomorrow at Hidden Falls Adventure Park which I call "rock central" hahaha it's the one reason I dislike it as there are huge rocks and boulders everywhere on ALL trails and they do not feel good to fall onto. My first day there I nearly shattered my elbow, and I went home with my blood soaked sleeve and immediately ordered elbow guards!
Sorry about your elbow. The leatt 3df 5.0 or 6.0 elbow pads work really well. They won’t slide down.
Great video sir. I've still yet to go visit Spoaks. I was going to go this weekend coming up but something came up and now going to have to wait next weekend.
It’s a fun trail since it’s so smooth. Probably only 2-3 tricky spots for beginners.
@@unlimitedmoto40 I'm a C rider as well (at best....really would be an F rider if they had it) so that's why I cannot wait to go and ride it along with the sand track and GP loop!
@@brutus6328 there’s a race this weekend and next. You going? Even if you don’t try to ride fast it’s fun to ride at new places.
@@unlimitedmoto40I won't be there this weekend, but I could possibly be there next Saturday 2/15. What time is the race? I can enter the race? Does the race last all day? Is there time after the race to ride? I'm brand new to the whole race scene but would love to get involved as I've been wanting to start racing for a year! Also, I have to say again that it was really amazing to see your improvement in braking and cornering on that GP track. I'm assuming the GP track and sand track would be open on race day as well. Have you ever ridden the MX track at Spoaks? I mostly ride tracks (at Creekside on the VET track) and so I'm new to hare scrambles and riding trails (other than when I did it as a kid).
@@unlimitedmoto40 Oh, and I see you ride CTOR quit a bit, I'll be buying my membership there in the next few weeks. Ben (Bennie?) is a character. He charges $200 for the year but if you try to join in Oct he still wants you to pay like $180! I give him credit for hustling, and I even got membership forms notarized TWICE at different times as I had planned on joining but it never worked out. I learned if I want my money's worth, I should join in the beginning of the year as Bennie doesn't prorate very well! hahahahaha
I just watched your other vid where the 2:49 was best and you have definitely gotten faster at those corners....big improvement as you can see you come in quicker, don't slow down as much and roll on the throttle smoother.
Thank you!
Nice speed demonstrated! I'm guessing your "friend" is angry! haha
Haha, nah he gives me more shit than anyone else I know 😂
Where is this GP track in relation to the MX track? You'd think my dumbass would see it considering it's out in the open! LOL. Been there a couple times and never even seen it. Also, I couldn't find the sand track either. Found the Kids track, I think I just didn't go far enough correct (in my defense, there were a whole bunch of big cows blocking the way!!!) Also, they just have one 7-mile trail there, right? Thanks in advance!
If you found the kids track then that’s a good start. If you keep heading southeast across the land bridge and up there hill you will run into the sand track. There is also a 10 turn rut course up there. And a turn track tucked into the woods (that one is hard to find on your own). The GP track will be on your left as you are heading to the sand track
Getting some good speed through the corners
“brake less” 👍
Great exercise and training!
Thanks. It’s fun to see where I’m at
Man my issue is i stay in it full send, then brake too late locking rear and almost going off trail and at times blowing through the turn/trail which you know cost time. Then again only time i practice is practice day then race day 😅. Been doing that since TX2-RND1 and only TX2, really need to practice more like you do.
do you pull the clutch in when you brake?
@unlimitedmoto40 well no I don't no need to, my bike came with one of those spider clutching thingy so there's that lol
Ah a recluse
Is Ott Ranch the sand race you're talking about? I signed up for it. It will be my first race, ever. I paid for the TORCS membership and for the race for Saturday only. But I was looking over the rulebook and saw that it requires a Snell helmet. Do they really check for that? My helmet doesn't have the Snell endorsement. I hope I didn't waste my money. If I can race, I've signed up for Open D class. I'll be the clueless fat-ass on the Beta XTrainer.
@@jwaller1327 yes. OTT Ranch this weekend. There is also a TX2 race the following Sunday at McMahan’s Ranch, which is one of the top 3 properties for racing in central Texas. OTT is sandy. They say you need to ride faster in the sand to make it easier. Regarding the rules. There is no check. Just make sure you have helmet, boots, goggles gloves and pants/jersey. I also wear elbow pads, chest/shoulder, and hip pads.
Take this into the next race and you will see massive improvements in your results! Way to go!
Thanks!! 3rd pinned is a little scary, but I’m getting more used to it. Been doing it for a while, but i would always let off too early for it to make much difference.
2 STROKES BABYYYY, BRAPPPPPPPPPP🎉😂🎉

Good tip on litpro only allowing 8min lap times that narrows down the lap time options fast. Did you try Strava? Kind of annoying you have to make a new segment on the computer every time but if you do the same loop in the future it would automatically compare times
Haven’t tried strava. MXBuddy is so easy to import from the watch and setting up new tracks is pretty easy. Havent needed to try anything else
Happy you like it my dad is Cory so come out whenever
Great race Chris, man I hope after this week I can get back on the bike soon. Watching you makes me miss it everyday. Your looking good man, keep it up!
@@jmx7656 thanks for the good words
Great job Chris! Better every race! All this video needed was more Beta’s going by…….😂😁
@@wyattbilby4091 the goal here is to keep the betas behind 😂
Great video I Hope to get the courage one day to participate in a race event
If you are feeling unsure of it, I recommend coming out to a race and trying a few practice laps first. Then you can decide if you want to race or not. If you do race, don’t push yourself too much. Make sure you finish and don’t quit. Check with the series first to make sure they have practice laps as some don’t.
@ thank you 👍
Good speed, making passes, lots of improvement 🤙🤙
Appreciate it!!! Next goal, to keep pace with Beta guy!! 😂
I’ve never raced before in my life and have absolutely no delusions of being competitive, but I still want to give it a try, if for no other reason than to get the opportunity to ride in different places. I’m a member of DBSA and ride at Zars just about every weekend. I usually stick to the marked trails if there’s much of a crowd (head-on collisions suck). I’m not the slowest rider out there, but I’m certainly not one of the fast guys either. I ride a Beta XTrainer and a CRF450L on the marked trails. If I’m going off the marked trails, I take the XTrainer unless it’s all non-technical stuff, and then maybe I’ll ride the 450. Of the two series you race in, which would you suggest for a first time racer, TX2 or TORCS? I figure I’d be in the D class for TORCS and the C class for TX2 (do they even have a D class?). From what I’ve seen in videos, TORCS is more technical riding in tight single track and TX2 is more two-track and flowy trails at faster speeds. TORCS races are more of an endurance race of about an hour and a half while TX2 has half hour motos? Am I correct? I prefer flowy trails and think I’d prefer a 30 minute moto to a longer, endurance type ride. My hands get super numb after 45 minutes or so. I could slow down and take the occasional break and last for an hour and a half, but certainly would be way behind. I guess it doesn’t matter, because I’m looking at trying this for fun more than for competition, if that makes sense. Somebody has to come in last place and I figure it might as well be me, a 49 year old fat-ass noob. Anyway, I appreciate your videos and would appreciate your advice.
This was me two years ago. I had no race experience and barely any riding experience. I often fell on some of the tougher obstacles/hills on the courses. Because of your hand numbness issues it sounds like tx2 would be great for you. TX2 has a non points class called sportsman you could sign up for to try it out. Or you could sign up for 45 or 55c and get passed by the lines behind you. Lots of room for passing in tx2 so it’s real safe. You don’t have to pull over like Torcs. I thought Torcs was racing at zars this year, but I don’t see it on the schedule any more. If you do decide to do Torcs try the practice and if you like it do the D class. You will get about 1-2 laps in before the C class guys catch up and start lapping you. When this happens try to find a place to start slowing down a little but don’t stop. It takes a little practice. If you stop to let people by then more people are going to pass you. Then it will just be all the time.
I was a 49 year old noob when I started racing TORCS in 2021. I just wanted to check it off a list of things I needed to do in my life. 4 years later, I still suck, but it’s more fun than anything I’ve ever done. My kids both race now and it’s created a lifetime of memories that we’re still building on. Best foolish decision I’ve ever made was to start this woods racing madness. I haven’t done a TX2 race yet, but I’m planning on it soon. As far as the numbness goes, I get that too. It eventually goes away after a few minutes and can be mitigated with stretching, nutrition, etc. Do it!
@ “best foolish decision I ever made” imma steal that one from you 😉 I was 45 when started. Still love it.
Those hand warmers scare me!!! Good riding though, too bad on that holeshot loss!!!
Didn’t seem like the guys in 45C were too scared of them. 🤣🤣

Not sure if you heard it on the video, but I said “when are we going to warm up?” 😂 we just jumped right into it. I suppose crossing the street was warmup. I really liked the hill climbs. @@josevences7008 it costs a lot to rent out 🤣🤣 That’s a joke. DarkHorse main track is tougher than some of our other local tracks. So a lot of the weekenders go elsewhere to fly on the tables. That leaves the main pretty busy and the vet track mostly empty, especially late afternoon.
