Even more, why send the kid home. Throw was in the air and on target.. oh inside the park home run?? Stat padding? I’d pull my kid off that coach’s team for sure
It’s easy. I’m the umpire. I made the call. You can leave the field quietly or you can leave the field by ejection. Keep it up and I’ll walk. Enjoy your game.
Good to see all that "southern hospitality" teaching your lil tyrants how to act in public. All that faith and treat each other like this at a rec league baseball game......but us city folk are the one that don't know how to act huh!
Easiest call ever. The runner is out and is ejected. Since the umpire failed to eject him, the offensive team coach should have had the class to approach the defensive team coach, apologize, explain the he is pulling that player out of the game and that he will talk with his team and the parents about how that is not acceptable. It’s a teaching moment.
If this is coach pitch why do they even have umpires. If they are playing little league rules then the runner must slide feet first. You can not run into a catcher for any reason in little league
Good for that coach sticking up for his catcher. He was not established in the base path until he had the ball. Kids have to slide when there is a play at the plate and this kid blatantly ran him over. The base runner should have been ejected from the game and the coaches given a warning.
Is there now a AAA DIVISION for COACH PITCH? 2026 tee ball signup.... What division would you like to sign up for? We have rec, A, AA, AAA, and MAJORS..
First off a good coach would teach the kids to be safe and play in front of the plate to make the tag play not behind to end up in the baseline 2nd it's a automatic out for running over the catcher the kid honestly accident or not should be either warned or thrown out
Yeah it was close, but I think he was positioned on top of the plate before being pulled into the base path. I would rule the runner safe for the obstruction. But still ejecting the runner for having intent to collide with catcher.
Can someone tell me why the coach is so mad? Did they get the out in the 1st instance? (assuming he is the coach of the catcher)... I saw someone mention the Other teams coach yelled "run him over"... I am thinking maybe THATS what he was flipping out about? I coach 8/9 Baseball, the rule is in all Little League.... if there is a play at home plate, and the catcher has the ball, or is making a play on the ball, the runner must slide, or it is an automatic out... This rule is in place for safety. The days of when we were kids growing up in the 80s, and were taught to run through the catcher, ended a while back. I can TOTALLY understand this coach flipping out for that contact on his catcher.... The player should be ejected, and IF INDEED the coach for the other team did yell "Run him over", then he should be ejected too. I think the coach should have checked on his catcher, made his point and walked away.... All the people on here criticizing him, and saying how its "only 8 year old baseball"..... Do you know if his son is the catcher? Maybe that had something to do with the emotion? Or maybe he just cares about his players. I would defend any one of my players any day, especially my kid. Parents and on lookers love to criticize everything about sports... worse than ever... when the truth is, there are fewer and fewer people willing to step up and take on the task of volunteering their time to help teach your kids a sport, have fun, and teach them life lessons... Hence less and less involvement with parents. I dont think that the parents understand the heart, the drive, the emotion and the flat out ability to be a role model is not a common trait in 2023. And before you say "I dont want him being my kids role model".... well then you shouldnt be dropping your kids off at practice, you should be coaching.
Bro I got a 170 and 200 and there so fun, keep it up👍
8U -- this is ridiculous!
Hard to watch when you have those cackling hill billy women in the background.

I am guessing the combined IQ of those parents is around 30
the fact that the umpires didn't call the game is mind-blowing to me. As an umpire, the second that coach came back out, I would have called the game.
You should have to pass some sort of a sanity test before you're allowed anywhere near a youth sporting event...goes for both coaches and parents
Some cities have enacted laws that if you step on the field of play in any sport you go to jail.
The needs to act like an adult
You can’t ram the catcher like that
8U. These kids still want to be dinosaurs when they grow up and the coach is acting like this. Get a grip bro.
#7 squatting and swinging a bat while waiting for the children to finish arguing.
What language are these yeehaws speaking?
That little guy catcher gets my vote . What a brave play .
WOW! and they allow this loser to be around kids?
All those moms lmfao 😂
That coach is garbage but so are the umpires 😂
Must be a shit ton of money riding on this game.
Coach Pitch??? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Who taught the catcher to take off his mask??? I tell my catchers the batter doesn't take off theirs why would you take off yours???

So they have a parent pitching lol. Listen to the sharp mouth of these parents.
The catcher didn’t leave room to slide it’s catcher fault
Those boys can play
Someone should have told the parents to shut the hell up.
It’s always these goober states.

Let the coaches umpire.
Those women’s accents are just perfect for this video
Wait, why is number 15 ejected
My dad used to embarrass me so bad at games, I quit at 16 couldn't take it any more.
Always the slob

listening to the women whine behind the scenes is worse than the on field drama

they must be from Texas

Catcher is a stud
That's a coach who fights for his kids!
First off a good coach would teach the kids to be safe and play in front of the plate to make the tag play not behind to end up in the baseline 2nd it's a automatic out for running over the catcher the kid honestly accident or not should be either warned or thrown out
That kid is out and ejected.
Catcher blocking the plate should have been obstruction runner is awarded the base! Can’t block the plate! Rule instituted 5 years ago in youth sports
Yeah it was close, but I think he was positioned on top of the plate before being pulled into the base path. I would rule the runner safe for the obstruction. But still ejecting the runner for having intent to collide with catcher.
Never take your mask/helmet off for a play at the plate
A man who loses control of his temperament like that doesn't belong coaching children.

Why in God's name are they fighting to get an 8 year old ejected. This is beyond ridiculous.
How is that idiot still in the park, let alone the game!?
As an umpire myself, I would have launched that third base coach almost immediately.
I'd be embarrassed if my kid's coach acted like that.
