do the fork kit need damper rod drilling?
Love the really explanatory presentation. Very informative! You represent your business so well. Good onya!
What model can be used with Kawasaki ZX25R (2023)?
Up to which model year iron 883 this will fit ??
Recently received my replacement new YSS rear suspension for my 21 NC750x DCT & so excited to test it next season. Thank you YSS. Your customer service is stellar. 😊
Can you guys build a setup for super meteor 650 which could make it more comfortable?
can we have an official answer in wether damper rods need to be drilled or not.. PLEASE..
How to set up bro?cb1000r neo
Got the upgrade for my interceptor was very pleased the installation went without a hitch but after was told I should have drill out the fork tubes? If I didn't then the emulators wouldn't function! Is that the case? It never said that anything needed drilling
hard to get a definitive answer on this question
Hi, are these avaiable in New Zealand, or do we order from Australia. Thanks
Do you have installation instructions??
hi yss, can you make an installation video for MZ456-290TR-15-85 to yamaha xj6 or fz6r. thanks.
I have the older kit with the silver top caps, and yes I have drilled out the damper rods 6 holes in each one and it is a improvement I can tell you. I run 10 Weight oil in the forks might change to 15. I have 1 and a half preload on the emulator preload and added second hole to the disc for more slow speed damping. I don't know why they don't tell you not to do it. New damper rods only cost 15 dollars U.S.each to replace so why not give it a go I said and I can always put new one's in. It is more work to do like taking out the damper rods and if you want to buy RE tool for the job it will cost 100 buck US but I made a tool in 5 min the does the job really easy and cost very little. Any video on RUclips with emulators they all drill out the dampers even one I saw on the Himalayan with a YSS kit in which it says to do so in the instructions. My fork is not ruined as some say it's improved but thats your choice but you are not getting all it could be from that kit.
Hi John, what did you base the use of 6 holes on? And what size did you make them? I have seen some other instructions from a previous set of instructions that say to use 4 holes of either 6mm or 8mm depending on rod diameter of the bike you're fitting to. Cheers
@@MrJulianneave From video's I've seen like from Racetech ruclips.net/video/j3QYZEQoN_M/видео.html he invented the cartridge emulator and another on from tectbike parts and even seen one where a guy with Himalayan and a kit from YSS and showed the instructions which state 6 holes. I put 6 8mm holes in mine just have follow the correct spacing and the strength of the rod is just fine. Measure 12mm up from stock holes and mark it then measure 6mm from same stock hole then 6mm to left and mark it. Then drill them out , I used a step drill to make the holes so I wonldn't need the change drill bits to get holes to the coreect size. Make sure to remove any burr's created from drilling. It's easier when drilling to drill through the other size so you get even spaced holes and you end up with the 6 holes. Now after that if you wasnt to go further and you'll probably want to is the mess with the adjustments to the emulator like the amount of preload on the spring for fast compression adjustment or adjusting the slow compression rate with making more holes to the black disc in the valve it has dimples already on it marking where you would drill the holes in them. Best to make small changes to things and ride the bike and make more adjustments and ride again.Would be nice if a chart existed to what adjustments to be made acording to you weight and riding style. YSS of Australia did have one on their website but now the link doesn't work. I made adjustments to the emulator 3 times to get where I am now and it works so much better then just fitting the kit and nothing else. My set up up is 2 turns to outside preload and 1 1/4 turns on emulator allan screw and a additional 2 more holes in the black disc at the top of the emulator, stock is only one hole in that disc..
Checked out kit on web and you had on sale for $393 but as not bought bike yet ? If do (assessing) but looked good price as you quoted $450 Aussie so will keep eyes open and thanks , great video but I’m just an ignorant kiwi fan
These kits are made in Thailand, so what is the development?
Why won’t you answer the most important question. Should you drill out the damper rods for the best performance of your fork kits?
Yes please!!! More info please. Part#'s?
Do use offer cartridges for harleys
Good shocks !!! Got one on my Suzuki...🏍️👍
It is good till now?
Do you have a part number for these. I have a 2022 rebel that I would like to upgrade the suspension on.
@YSS, final call on the damper rod, please. Drilling or no drilling? People say "No drilling because the lighter fluid and compensates for the restrictive holes in the damper". People also say "YSS doesn't mention drilling the damper rod so it makes for the easist kit to install (so marketing) but if you don't drill the damper rod, the damper rod will continue to be the most restrictive part in the system and the valve will do near to nothing". What's the verdict, please?
i am looking to buy these shocks for my 96 bmw r1100rt. do you also sell rebuild kits for when in the future i want to rebuild them?
I look for NC750X 2021
Very knowledgeable, mate. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
No worries!
Is the the preload done by taking the fork tops off.
Hi Martin, the preload is adjusted externally on the cap by turning the 14mm head (Red Section on the cap) very easy to do
I've put the fork kit on my Interceptor mostly for comfort as I'm no racer and it certainly removes the "soft yet harsh" feeling of the standard set-up. As per the instructions I have not drilled the OE damper rods as I understand that the kit is designed to work in conjunction with the standard rods. I have seen on a few forums folk being told they are dumb for not drilling the rods and am concerned there is a lot of disinformation out there. Anyone whose done what's not recommended is unlikely to admit that they'd done what they were told not to and made a mistake and made the bike worse. I'm very pleased with the kit which complements the rear shock upgrade I'd already done, my spine thanked me for that!
Yss....matap 👍👍👍
