SoundNewsXtra is hosted by Rico and Hughie Siffa
Rico and Hughie are both original member and operators for Siffa Sound, who came on the scene in 1977. Siffa was one of the greatest youth sounds in Birmingham, playing most of the biggest and best sounds from around the UK.
SoundNewsXtra is a channel that has been created to capture the untold history of UK dancehall. Here at SoundNewsXtra we will be speaking with some of the great sounds from all across the UK - unravelling some of their greatest memories and historical stories. Dancehall has been a staple in UK black culture since the early 1960’s during the Windrush time. Yet, the stories that make up such a captivating history are untold. We are here to provide a platform to capture the legacy and cultural roots of DanceHall.
