At 20 49 dear ol Alec makes a right pigs ear of slapping lime putty all over the face, I was ready to see him hammer the mail in , miss, and crack it in two. As a Lewes resident, it’s changed a lot. And pretty much for the worse. No parking all along the high street then. Parking bays all along the south side now and gridlock, treble the traffic and no room for a bus to pass an idiot who’s blocking the other way.

I remember watching this as a kid when I dreamt of becoming a River Keeper. Life took another path though. I frequently thought about this documentary and how much I enjoyed it when it aired on the telly. So nice to be able to see it again.

Did not expect to see this on RUclips. I was 14 years old and a student at Romsey comprehensive school. I was among the congregation in my school uniform with some of my schoolmates. Nice to see some familiar faces and old school friends.

40 years ago. Someone should go back and go over the items covered in this intelligent documentary and compare it with the present. I don't think it would be a pretty picture; successive governments have ignored both people and place, allowing the destruction of effective employment, countryside, agriculture, education, policing, towns and housing.

I have lived in Romsey since 1947. Great to see Lord Louis and how sad that he was murdered in 1979 the year after this film was made.

It is just a shame nobody bothered to make sure the flag was draped on the coffin properly. (The upper canton of the Union flag should rest atop the left shoulder of the coffin)

I have only found out this year that i'm a decendent of William Hamilton 2nd Duke of Hamilton and i was born in Worcester just over a mile from where he died.

Worcester Cathedral wasn't badly damaged by Henry viii's men - thought to be because his brother's Chantry is here.

What a fantastic documentary about such a great character.

Interesting to see the Royal National Hospital for Consumption and Diseases of the Chest! Closed in 1964, hence it's faded look. It was demolished in 1969 and is now Ventnor Botanic Gardens. Lucky last cinematic shot from the air! I think that is the right one.
