Hello everyone,
I'm an Engineer doing my PhD in Finland. I'm also an enthusiastic Finnish learner and have been studying this languase since I moved here. To help me learn more about it I decided to share my studying process with anyone interested through RUclips videos. It helps me struture my knowledge and hopefully will help anyone interested in the language as well.
This said, it doesn't mean I won't upload other types of content. After all the name of the channel is Arthur&Beyond.
I hope you enjoy what you see! Hope to keep making videos!

Finnish Verb types: 30 verbs you'll learn first
Просмотров 8 тыс.4 года назад
Finnish has 6 verb types. Here are 5 verbs per type I've picked for self-study and reference. They are an attempt at covering most, if not all, conjugation situations. I hope this will help you as much as it did me. Table of verbs: 5:52 My first video! I've planning this for a long time now. Now... there are many things about the video I don't like, but not everything can be perfect, so bare wi...
For all the people that are boring in the beggining because all the gibberish this man speaks, the foremost of the video begins at 5.52 minute
So how we conjugate
Great map of finnish basic grammar topics
Why did you quit making videos?
One makes mistakes, not does. But the material is great. Thank you.
Je vous écris en francais: pouvez vous me dire le passé composé des verbes avoir . être. ...svp. et faire manger. Fatigué. Fatigant ?
Very helpful vid, Arthur. Keep on uploading!
Hienoa!! Lausut hyvin. Y kaipaa vielä harjoitusta.
És portugues não és?
Hello, watching from the Philippines... I love all your videos. Hopefully to see more videos 😊
Thanks! Very useful ^^
Pretty useful video. Gave me a good basic understanding of verbs.
Muito obrigadooo ,eu gosto Portugese e eu usar dolingo ,agora eu entende poco mas Finish e muito difficil pra mi
I have never heard "nuoreta". I thought it was wrong but it actually is a word. I would say "nuorentua" or at least figuratively "nuortua". There are three forms for a verb that describes something that cannot happen.
At 0:54 it is said, "For many people, they are intuitive learners." Yes--for MANY people--but not for everyone! I can't learn foreign languages at all by this type of intuitive imitation. I have to analyze it! Far too many teachers want to force their students into learning via one particular method only--and if that method doesn't work for you, well--too bad. You can just flunk out, as far as they're concerned. Thank you for recognizing that there are different learning styles.
Kiitos paljon
kiitos paljon🙏🏻
kiitos!! Just starting out and was looking for something helpful like this. Thank you!
II wish you had more videos. Very clear explanations. Thank you! 🇺🇸🇫🇮
Your english accent is quite irritating, not to mention that habit of saying "aah", "umm" in every second! And work more on your pronunciation in finnish. Besides that, it's Okay! :)
"Mä olen asunut Suomessa yksi vuosi", should be "mä olen asunut Suomessa yhden(one) vuoden(year)." "I have lived in Finland for two years" would be "mä olen asunut Suomessa kaksi (2) vuotta (years). Or "olen asunut Suomessa kahden vuoden ajan"="I have lived in Finland for two years." - Finnish is my native language.
2 things, 1. Your presentation certainly helps a lot. well explained. 2. You look like Rashid Khan (Afghani cricket player) Take both as compliments. 😁
Very interesting...why don't you continue to make these kinds of videos????
Hi Mehrsa. Thanks for the incentive! It means a lot. Indeed I wanted to continue with these video series, but in between my PhD and other life matters it is hard to find the time.
@@arthurbeyond2002 Looking for your success 🤠 Kiitos ja onnea Arthur 🌹
