WHAT TO KEEP IN YOUR TRUCK TOOLBOX

Things you might need for emergencies or everyday work in your truck.
worked good until i fried my terminal thanks bud! DONT RECOMMEND!
I just wanted to ask do you really connect positive and negative together? Wonder why you couldnt get a correct input signal from a rear door speaker?
Let me know please
I’ve the same question, cuz I connected everything just like he said and it doesn’t make any noise, the amplifier is on by the way
EQ settings on the radio ?
FFS Turn your damn phone when you take a video!
Eat shit, you ain’t gotta watch it
Video 101 When I'm smashin your mom from behind clappin them cheeks, your dad always remembers to turn the damn phone! He thought you knew better. @@tracehelms569
The black wire doesn't need to be connected to ground I know the blue wire is to turn your amplifier on and off
Do you know if one of those wires in the pillar are a 12volt power wire?
Do you know how long of a power wire you needed ?
Did you use a converter from speaker wires to rca adapter?
Hey! How did you run the power wire from under the hood?
Ran it from battery across engine bay and down into the rubber boot that comes out inside the truck, used zip ties where needed
Update... I installed this the exact same way and absolutely nothing happened.... The line output converter needs power.. I figured it did but since this guy's "professional" did it for him I figured I would just take his advice
I agree 100% this video is not helpful? I did the same thing on a 14 Silverado and it sounds horrible the blue wire does give you 12 volt to turn the amp on and off the ground wire doesn't need to be connected but I've never heard of connecting a positive and negative together on one side the two Greys and connecting a positive and negative together on the other side the two whites it sounds horrible tomorrow I'm going to take it apart and do it as the back of the Box gives the information so sorry I followed this video
@@djadrian9318any update on how to run this converter ?
So you don't have to hook up the power wires on the LOC??
Nice
These fit under the seats with the seats down?
nice bro, they wired down to 2 or 4 ?
Not even sure about the ohms and all
@@tracehelms569 gotcha man, i have similar setup i was wondering what you have your gain and lpf and subsonic set on
Put the gain like a 1/4 lpf around 70/80 and ur subsonic at 25 if u are using seal boxes but if ported dnt use subsonic
Only need subsonic for ported enclosures
Very possible they aren’t getting loud enough due to not being wired to the correct ohms. It gets confusing wiring multiple subs. If the ohms are wrong then you are robbing your subs of literally half the power.
i have a 2015 same as yours 8 inch screen no bose and i’m curious as what you did with the ground/negative wire mines just hooked up to a factory ground spot?
I think they ground wasn’t even used… you can use to ground out any extra noise is what I’ve been told, I’ve since sold this truck but it sounded good
I may try this. Trying to put two 8 skar evl subs in my 15 silverado. Some dude saying he will build me a harness to hook up to the radio for $250. That's why I am here fk that lol
Go get a line output converter for like $20 and tap into a speaker, and run ur RCAs to that, unless you want to do it the hard way and pull out the radio and all that
@tracehelms569 nah I'm trying to ball on a budget as well lol thanks for the video man. I'm gonna rip apart my truck soon to see what things look like
U showed me some new songs thanks bro. Looking to get either two 10s or 2 8s in my 15 silverado scar amp and sub
This helped tromendosly thanks bud
okay so what you're saying is they ran the remote turn on wire from that fuse on the driver side to the amp so every time you turn the ignition the amp and subs automatically come on?? My son is trying to do this with his truck and we keep seeing all these super confusing videos as if we have to take the radio out. you seem like yours is way simpler. could you maybe text me the list of how things are ran fully. or comment, whatever one works best for you
So your power wire from battery goes straight to amp. So does ground. Your line output converter (I called it the rca converter) is what you use to tap into a speaker to get signal of music so you don’t have to take radio out. Your RCA cables will go from that converter to the amp L and R order doesn’t matter I don’t think one is to left sub one is to right. Your remote wire just sends signal to ur amp telling ur when to cut on and off so you don’t drain battery
Send me your number if you need to, I went thru heck trying to figure out how to get my stuff done right, I’ve now done 5 other vehicles and our boat all with no problems
So the positive and negative wires are connected together? Wouldn’t it be both sides positive and negative connected together ?
Exactly correct both positives and both negatives together that makes perfect sense😊
@@djadrian9318how’d you wire it up
Crew or extended cab?
Crew
The reason it sounds worse at the highest it goes is because almost every amp/head unit has distortion or “clips” at the top ranges of the gain and can actually blow speakers so only turn the head unit up to 70%-80% of what it can actually go to
how was wiring the subs and everything? did you use an rca converter?
Not bad worst part is running power wire in my opinion, yes I used a line output converter, I have another video of that
Thanks dude you made it way easier. System coming today will return here when it’s installed
Yessir I’ve actually installed a few myself now, so I’m learning more as I go
@@tracehelms569 do you remember what number fuse you ran the tap to? I can’t figure this fuckin diagram out🤣
@@jerrycan8333 mines wired to an ignition fuse so it my amp only comes on with the key
It’s the panel that’s beside the 4wd/headlight controls to the left of it
@@tracehelms569 yeah but like do you know what number fuse it’s in? I put mine in the ign ipc sdm which is number 33. is that the ignition fuse? Nothing directly says ignition like my old gmc
Just ordered 2 of dual 4 ohm and an RP-1500.1 for my Tacoma. Gonna have to build a custom box.
Nice, I have my 1200 watt about 75% turned up and that’s about all these can handle before
@@tracehelms569 i figured I’d have to turn mine down. You running them at 1ohm?
@@dogtaggers2312 not even sure but I think they are wired to 1 ohm, my positives are together and negatives together I believe but they sound good and have enough thump for me
@@tracehelms569 if there d2 then there 1 ohm if there the d4 then that's 2 ohms.
Just ordered 2 for my taco how’s yours sound?
I recommend getting some ported boxes for them or one big ported one. I have these in a set of ported kicker prefabs. They are wired to 1 ohm to a d4s jp8. I'm in a single cab and it will jiggle my necklace on my mirror.
Yeah my graduation tassel around my mirror vibrates lol, I wish 1 had a bigger box that went all the way across but I’ll be selling this truck soon so probably won’t get another box until I get my new truck
Mirror jiggle doesn’t say everything tho, my friends Prius’ mirror goes crazy with the stock jbl system because of how flimsy the car is. I’m guessing a truck might be a little sturdier
@@tracehelms569 are the boxes ported? I have your exact truck and exact same setup and they sound anything the same, how did you wire them?
@@brandonreyes1377 my boxes weren’t ported
Can u link that box please?
So with this you just run your power to the batter and hook up to your door wiring without ever having to touch the back of the radio ? How’s the sound quality ?
Yes, you do not have to pull the radio out and mess with anything back there, and the quality sounds good as it should be
Sounds good Man! I like the stock exhaust tip better than the single.
Nice
Do you need power to the loc? It dosnt look like you have anything to power it on
This particular loc doesn’t have to have the the power wire connected but I know some do
@@tracehelms569 so does it turn the amp on as soon as it senses the speakers are playing?
@@ethanhowe4794 my remote wire to the amp is wired to an ignition fuse under my dash so didn’t have to use it on the rca converter
@@ethanhowe4794 the amp turns on when I turn the key on
You need two different converters or just one ?
Just one
Let’s hear the system also having both positive and negative together into another wire doesn’t make since to me why wouldn’t they seperate it for a better connection as positive to positive negative to negative.. i have a 2014 silverado LT and was looking into wiring up an amp and sub
I’m not exactly sure, but I think you can do it either way whether it’s both positives on one side or you run wires to the left and the right door speakers to tap into. This was done by an audio place I took it to. I just posted the video so people knew how to wire one up.
I will upload a video of them soon but if you have the non-bose, as I do the rca converter wiring will be the exact same and everything else is pretty easy as far as the power and ground and speaker wires
@@tracehelms569 I have them all wired up and still won’t get any response from my sub, the amp is on so I know my power wire, ground, and remote wire are all good. I have tried for hours to trouble shoot it, you have any ideas why it wouldn’t be working?
@@ryanoleson4343 you have a 2014 Silverado without the Bose?
@@tracehelms569you do it?
Excellent video young man. You are prepared not only for emergencies for yourself - but for others.
Where they put the remote to amp
Mine is ran to the ignition fuse
Rain jacket or poncho, maybe some boots 🥾
Yeah I normally keep a ski jacket under my backseat lol
Trace - You have lots of lights, ropes, straps, and a chain, but no come along, no tarp, no first aid kit, and no fire extinguisher. You got brand new 2 funnels and a unopened roll of shop towels, but no automotive chemicals: brake fluid, ATF, power steering fluid, windshield wash, motor oil, water or coolant. Keeping the pin for your towing hitch separate is just a invitation for Murphy to pay you a visit. That pipe can be used for leverage, not just for beating. Consider a shovel, even just a folding one, for digging out when stuck in mud or sand.
My truck isn’t a pos so I don’t need the brake fluid and atf on hand... however I do have coolant in there I also have a first aid kit under my backseat ever heard of a dollar general, Walmart, autozone, or oreily’s... this toolbox may not fit EVERY person but it’s all of the things I need... I was 16 years old when I made this video 2 years ago so no I’m not a dooms day prepper but I do have many useful things in my toolbox
I made a second video that never uploaded but I also have a shovel, 2000lb portable winch, I also am very organized so I keep up with my hitch pins
Trace - A spare quart of oil leaves you no excuse not to top off when you come up low. It is acceptable for even new engines to use a quart between oil changes. The difference between a pos on wheels and something worth having is how it's cared for, not whether or not it's new. I have never bought a new truck, so I have to take care of things and I do all most everything myself. Yeah, walmart and dollartree have low prices, but their quality is low too. My money is tight so I pay more and get things I can rely on. It's all just an old man's opinions. It's your truck, do as you see fit.
@@ScorpionRegent just for your info I have 4 quarts of oil at my house from my previous oil change, I check my oil very regularly, however my truck doesn’t leak or burn oil
@@ScorpionRegent Walmart literary has every name brand fluid for my truck, I use valvoline 0w-20 full synthetic from Walmart thats 20 dollars cheaper there instead of autozone
All brand new
Matt - Yeah, I don't trust people with brand new tools. It tends to indicate a lack of skills and experience.
Yes I just got my truck when I made this video so I just started to by my stuff new
I would defiantly recommend a drill
