CGC has got em all beat. So does TAG. I use them both Y’all check em out, 2-3 week turnaround

I recently got a vintage submission back from PSA and I was also very disappointed. I was not expecting 10s but also not 4s and 5s based on condition. I'm trying BGS for the first time because the price is a little better, and it doesn't look like they up charge based on grade/value.

PSA damaged my friends 48 Robinson. They had already gave it a 6 before crimping it in the slab. then they screwed him on the insurance. All in cost him $6000. He still used them for another few months before getting tired of their upcharges and other "stuff". I dont use any grader, period. People seem to be liking TAG though, just havent caught on crazy big yet.

PSA damaged my friend's cards too! And they offered no compensation whatsoever. Like you, he is never using them again.

News flash PSA has been doing that since 1990 , I know first hand having sent them thousands of cards in the 90s

SGC will be the way to go in the future imo. Way more consistent these days than PSA.

PSA is a joke, I see cards graded 10 all the time that have visible flaws even when viewed at a distance. They must have been submitted by big customers. What a stupid thing for a company to do, to compromise their reputation for possible short-term benefit. But they do it every day. And as stupid as 95% of the people in this hobby are, I can’t say I blame them for adopting this strategy. The average collector still thinks they’re totally legit.

ALL cards are damaged by being hermetically sealed in plastic slabs. People who truly appreciate the card don't do such a thing. That's why you don't use PSA.

Nice looks on the Largent & Dorsett [HOF] could go for around $500 & James Lofton [HOF] around $100 ... For some reason I remember Cello Packs of this set and I got a PAYTON on the cover back in the Happy Days. GREAT VID!

psa should give reasons for how they graded a card they just leave people with no explaination of why they gave a card a specific grade its total bs

I think raw is the way to go these days.

Cards were meant to be touched, look at, backs read, stats studied, not to be locked up in a plastic prison.

pretty excited for pulling a $25 card. Cool to see these come out of packs. I opened a few myself back in 1980.

PSA is a crooked organization, I think they take bribes, more or less extort you out of the value of the cards graded, they know if they give you a 9 or a 10 you're going to get a lot more at auction and they want a piece of your action.

What it boils down to is a million rinky dink start up companies now, people trust them more. At their own peril.

PSA is a joke when you really really think about it. Millions of cards each month, lord knows how many employees working, I'd bet a million dollars and give odds, they are shoveling through cards as fast as can. And with especially with vintage cards that are in all sorts of condition, each person just say, "Ah I don't know, looks like a 5 or maybe a 6, we'll give it a 6. It's purely subjective for each person and not really scientific.

So glad I watched this! Was gearing up to send my first ever submissions for grading. Think I’ll go the SGC route instead

Damn you got shafted on those cards. They low graded you to death. PSA has been horrible for the last three years. Now PSA owns SGC so I’ve switched to Beckett.
