Hi. This holds just fine and has for over a year. I did 1300 miles on it last year alone.
did the WSM fit on top with any fitment issues? some reports online said you had to flip it upside down
No fitment issue at all. The one you have to flip, I believe, is the 18”. This is the WSM 22”. Additionally, you only have to flip it if you wanted to use the Weber Kettle lid. I am using the WSM lid.

The problem with starting the wrap at the stem is that the normal hand force at the drops is downward, which tends to cause the exposed edges to roll. I'd be interested to hear if you found this a problem.
I rode 1300 miles last year with this wrap and it still is holding up just fine, fortunately. The edges have stayed pretty flat.
SuperCaz takes longer to wrap if you want to get it right
How does the 3rd rack work for a grill? Great Idea!
It works great 👍. It allows me to use this WSM as a grill equivalent to a normal Weber 22 Grill. It also lets me smoke much more at the same time.
But what if the junction box is the bar plug area? How do you wrap from the top and lock at the bottom?
It’s not necessary to remove the junction box. cut the bar tape diagonally, and then wrap like you normally do. The bar tape should hold itself in place. Personally (and I'm no bike mechanic) I like to wrap a bit of electrical tape to the drop, sticky side out. This holds the bar tape in place more securely, and also makes sure it stays on in the event of a crash. Llebo Cat I have and there is no noticeable difference to the cook afterwards. It’s just easy to adjust the vents and easy to clean ash.
