Hello fellow Toastmaster, It is a good initiative, but i beg to differ. I believe, that the solution to mental health or loneliness, comes from going out in the real world and meeting people, joining clubs, pursuing hobbies, being on self improvement etc, and not by chatting to random people online. Chatting with random people online could make them feel good at that moment, but after that they would get back to the same place again. I personally have tried this. I used an app 'Heyy' which was based on a similar concept. Whenever i talked to them, i felt fine, but after a while i was at the same place. What changed my life, was SELF IMPROVEMENT. Self improvement includes, physical activity, meditation, gratitude journaling, working towards your goal, using less phone or social media, getting sunlight, spending time in nature & with family and friends, having a good routine, eating healthy, getting a good sleep. I am not a psychologist, but I am sure 95% of our problems would be solved just by being on this path. Obviously, some deep issues would only be solved by visiting a psychologist. But the problem with most people is that, they just don't do these things. I personally failed multiple times. But that one time, i was done failing, and I started doing all those good habits with full dedication and came out of that rut. The app mentioned, with some tweaks, could turn out to be a great app. For example, you can start a community in each city in India, and plan meetups, meet in real life, maybe start a small club in some cities, where people meet and share problems, become friends, get solutions etc. I feel that even toastmasters is a great club to serve this purpose. At Toastmasters you meet different kinds of people, from different fields, of different age groups. You hangout with them, connect with them. There is a sense of community and togetherness. Ultimately, humans need that. We have always been part of a tribe, a group, a community. But today, its not like that anymore. So we need to go back to the basics. That was my view based on my experience. No disrespect to you or the guest. Have a nice day😊
