I would like to play the first tune on my flute but it is impossible. He only takes his first breath around 8 seconds in. Does not sound much but try it.

Acabo de oir otras versiones de la misma pieza, en concreto de Nina Perlove y de Emmanuel Pahud ... y si bien me ratifico en que el sonido es muy limpio ... yo creo que atropelló al piano ... como que le faltó mas calma. La pieza es una pieza voluptuosa, coqueta, juguetona y Galway la interpreta demasiado rápido, no te deja disfrutar la pieza ... ya sabemos que toca bien y que tiene una agilidad increíble, pero yo creo que esta pieza requiere otra manera de interpretarse. Y digo que atropella al piano porque me da la impresión de que la pianista se acomoda a la velocidad que él le imprime a la pieza, cuando él deja de tocar ella desacelera ... admirable flautista de hecho, pero en esta pieza me quedo con las interpretaciones de los flautistas que mencioné de inicio ...

I find it surprising how many good flutists really have little idea how to test a flute. I handed him my Haynes flute to test after a masterclass and was surprised at his method of testing at the time. Unfortunately we were a little short on time and he could not completely test it. He was nice enough to let me test his and it was rather dirty with green stuff in the mechanism. Got to see the Gold Lot too and it was awesome! The most important thing to test is the response: the resistance and the resonance and balance of the two.This is after the mechanism is checked for correct movement and leaks in finger combinations (arpeggios and scales).
