All you need is an sd card reader so that storage is cheap for an extra 1TB
I absolutely agree having the card reader at the front is an absolutely must; however I see and issue with cable management with all those cables at the front.

So now you can have cables coming out of the back as well as the front. Or just turn the Mac Mini around.

That is not a USB-C port. It's a Thunderbolt port! Make this dock with Thunderbolt passthrough and then it would be worth it!!! Otherwise you're sacrificing a much much faster interface
