Hi what beautiful results! Do you grow your cattleyas under grow light? If yes what kind of grow ligth you use how many lux for how many hours? I'll try to cultivate some plants in this way! Thank a lot!
Thank you for sharing this, its invaluable to me as i tried growing some phals in glass, however it is only one that has done extremely well. I used bark, so I'll try using moss and see what happens. Im shopping for some more plants at a show at the end of the month so its another opportunity to tey something new. Thanks again, you have gained a subscriber 😊
Wow! I must try this.
Nice plants! A peaceful, calm presentation.
Thanks for sharing, this is amazing! I grow some Vandas in glass vases without moss but I never thought to grow Cattleya like this
I see my Cattleyas happier in glass vases! You are welcome, please let me know how Vandas grow in these as I am a newbie on Vandas.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Thank you!
You're back, the Rlc. King of Taiwan is beautiful. That Vanda Pachara Delight is worth waiting for it to flower because it has large deep blue flowers almost unreal. Btw you look great with a beard.
Thank you very much! I have seen that other video of the V. Pachara Delight! What an attractive electric blue colour!
Hi Victor ! I also grow Cattleya under artificial lighting. Do you grow them in sphagnum moss? How do you manage watering so as not to soak the sphagnum moss? Do you also grow them in glass pots without holes? Thank you for your response.
Good day Chrism73. Thank you for your patience waiting for my answer. Yes I grow Cattleyas in spagnum moss using glass vases without holes. I seem to be successful in growing them, and they flower better and grow bigger. One thing of caution is I never pour water on the sphagnum moss. I use a commercial pressurised sprayer and only spray the water directly on the moss. In this way, the water will only moisturize the top of the medium, and the rest of the moisture will be absorbed by the dry bottom moss. I aim the sprayer at moss and spray for 10 seconds and move on to the next glass vase (the glass vase by the way is approximately 5x10 inches. I hope this helps.
@@Victor.Frigillana Thank you very much Victor
Are you aware that a lady on Facebook is selling orchids using your pictures as heres?
Good day, I have no idea that my pictures were used by others who sell orchids. That is not good, and I have to speak to her to stop her.
Beautiful 🌸
I find these videos inspiring, featuring naturally beautiful features of Canada! Your red shift really stands out from the turquoise colours of the water... very Canadian! Well done, Noy!
Do you grow the cattleyas in sphagnum moss?
Good day, Robert. Thank you for your patience. Since I live in Calgary where the air can be so dry (40% humidity), I resorted to using sphagnum moss on my Cattleyas. In the tropics, growers might use charcoal because of excessive humidity in the air.
Could you do a video on or tell us how you made your flower stem supports?
Beautiful. I have a King of Taiwan and can't wait for it to flower. I will be getting grow lights as I live in Canada and winter is coming. Thanks.
Hi, Emilio, the King of Taiwan is one of the flattest cattleya flowers I have seen, and this is a great trait! It also has a habit of producing more than one growth per flush, be ready to pot them as a specimen! That can be very interesting!

You are much welcome, much pleasure to impart happiness to everyone, my friend!
what is name Cattleya Mr?,
Try Quantum Orchid and the MS& fertilizer from Repotme..wonderful products..I just got three juvenile and 2 flasks of catts from Akatsuka orchids, and ordered some Phil’s from Norman’s…
Hi, @johncspine2787. Thank you for your great suggestions! I will try those products. All the best to your flasks of cattleyas and phalaenopses (assumingly this may be a plural form for that genus). I would assume that it will be a lot of varieties if they were bred from seed...
Nice plant. Thanks for the encouraging video.
You are much welcome, and I am happy to know that the video helps! @giardinodialberi8751!
Thanks a lot for posting this. I am new & has Cattleya in my collection. The first bud is coming out. I keep this Orchid along with Phalaenopsis & Dendrobiums in my Balcony where I have open air & indirect Sunlight of BANGALORE, India. My Dendrobium bloomed amazing 3 blooms last year. Nothing after that. Phalaenopsis- I purchased 2 clors with flowers & both are doing well. More to add& more to learn. Your video is inspiring. I want to buy Oncidium Orchids & Vanda Orchids also in the near future.
@doddagopi4933, you are very lucky to have a myriad of orchids to begin with. I assume that you have a location advantage as many orchids respond very well to moderate to warm temperatures all year round. I am also curious if cattleyas respond well I have been told they are daylight-sensitive. But since I tried using grow lights with a fixed 8-hour period for a year, my cattleyas still bloomed! I hope the same outcome for you!
your smile reminds me of the first actor who played spider man toby mcguire!
Thank you for the close up and the reverse side! I 👍
You are welcome, @kgillen3202! I would also like to see the whole plant in different angles online...
I cant find your cattleya vareities here in the Philippines, i like these vareities because aside from it has huge blooms the fragrant also i consider it. Hesitate to buy others gusto kasi fragrant din cya, i bought some blooming size cattleyas hopefully if magflower sana mabango din❤️
Hi, @therankingguru6960, in the Philippines, the cattleya varieties I have seen, prefer (the large, floofy ones) and has been very abundant were the RLC Crispin Rosales (dark purrple), RLC Alma Kee (yellow with red lip), and RLC Bob Betts (White). I am just curious what do you got? Salamat!
Ang ganda talga ng cattleya❤
Nakakanggal ng stress diba?
@@YourPlantLab Yes Sir sobra❤️ antagal lang magflower pero super worth it talga once magbloom I can stare at it all day long❤️
@@therankingguru6960 Oo may katagalan, yung iba nag blo-bloom twice a year. Kapag naka-abot na ng matured size, bihira ko silang i-propagate para hindi mag setback. At kung kailangang i-propagate (kasi puno na ang pot), I made sure that the roots are starting to poke out from the bases of the new growth, para hindi ma-shock masyado yung halaman.

Yes, stately, and royally purple!
its a showstopper!
Such a beautiful bloom. As others have asked, could you provide more information concerning the lighting you are using? Thanks for your help.
What color of led light you have used for cataliya orchid, pl?
How did you get hold of the seed or the plant in the first place?
Good day. First, I made sure I won't miss out Orchid shows in our locality every year. You can find beautiful varieties where you can see flowering fully-grown sample plants. If they are expensive, I do buy seedlings, but as much as possible I buy adult plant cuttings. These is where the majority of my hard-to-find orchids (like Cattleyas) came from. Secondly, I joined our local orchid society where their monthly meeting gives opportunity for other members to sell their extra cuttings / plants, where you can buy from them ... Finally, you can go to websites to order. I have not tried this route, but make sure you have someone who did this to verify confirmed delivery and correct plant identification.
Your orchids are stunning! The plant looks so healthy, big and compact. Could you please make a video about the media that you use and how you treat your plan in more detail explanation? Thank you.
Thank you. If I have the chance I will do this as you requested. The media I use is pure sphagnum moss, however I made sure that the media distribution within the pot is sparse, not too compact to allow air and space between the roots. But the media will depend on your area. We have a dry climate (Calgary, Canada) so I need a media that can retain moisture, such as spagnum moss. If your area is has rain for long periods of time, like the Philippines, consider big chunks of charcoal. If your area have something in-between rainy and dry, like in some parts of the Philippines, then you can mix big chunks of charcoal with sphagnum moss. The rainier a climate becomes, the more portion of charcoal than the moss. In my case, I water my plants moist enough but I do not allow too much water to run off the pot, and I do allow them to dry out, until my moss becames 80% dry, like waiting out every 4-5 days before I water them again. Light is a big factor for blooming them. I just have posted the description of the exact grow light brand and model I use on another video. Thanks for asking!
Big plants but big flowers, very nice
Thank you very much!
Just one thing I can't hearing I need just writing g for understand

Thank you very much, Lien Hendrawati!
Thanks for sharing the knowledge love the fact your tell the names of the orchids very impressive 🎉
I can feel people need to know the varieties that work under lights, and even the actual sizes of the flowers because computer images can barely give an idea of it. Thank you for your observation, Amber!
Gorgeous !!!!!
Thank you, Delores!
a video about the led lights configuration distance to the plants, etc.
How long does it takes cattleya orchids to bloom under grow light?
Your Cattleya might give you a forecast on how matured it is. If you are trying to grow a two-foot high Cattleya, and yours is currently half the height, and growth comes out every three to six months, In my experience, the best possible outcomes can be a new growth 1/3 higher than the previous. If the roots are plenty, such plants can give out sheaths even if they are less than the blooming height. Iight has much to do with it, coupled with watering immediately after the plant medium dries out.
