How they thought they could compete with that cab, the 1400 series IH combines had a great cab compared to that!
😊😊 even the pre massey ferguson tractors gas and diesel they were made 4 fuel economy and even when the massey ferguson tractors were made and was standard equipment in tractors there are still many of those tractors still used on every other farm 2 day they went from a air ride seat 2 a oil ride seat 😊😊 and massey ferguson tractors have been made and been around ever since 1958 😊😊 and tractors 2 are the work horses of the farm over 6OO HP 😊😊 OMG 1O 14 2O24
Great video. Keep up the good work.
I have a 1/16 toy of the 6195. These were probably the best looking tractors of the 90s imo.
Deutz Allis never took off, all because they changed color. If they had stayed AC orange, they might have survived. Ironically the same company (Deutz Fahr) is now gaining popularity in the USA today.
3:40 LOL. KRONE’S disc mower obliterated any remaining New Idea disc owners as you just lift the disc up, pull the blade and replace it, no loosing of nuts or bolts with a KRONE!
These came out in the 80’s. How are you gonna compare it to a krone lmfao
We had a 4900. It was a reliable brute.
AGCO sure had a way of making "SAME" tractors sound great
There were a few of these in my neighborhood. I did not hear many positive comments. Usually a big break down and then they bought a different brand. No personal experience with them.
Please do the 4600 series as well.
Had a couple 7085. Good tractors. A little low on torque
A very good and informative advert. I now feel like buying a Gleaner even though I don't farm^^
Made by Same of Italy same as Deutz
SAME also owned some shares of Agco at this time too
@@goatfarmmbAGCO owned shares in Same at that time . In fact Agco buys up dying companies and basically retains a few of their best models and uses their name on multiple models from multiple company acquisitions . MF , white , agco , SAME , Hesston , allis chalmers , Cat Challenger ect . All owned by AGCO & all the same tractors with different names on the hood . Case-IH / New Holland has done similar acquisitions as well John Deere .
@@BrieAnnaTeylar actually SAME owned shares in AGCO and not the other way around, SAME is owned and is still owned by the same founding family and they are in the black when it comes to finances.
@@BrieAnnaTeylar Case IH and New Holland were bought by Fiatagri and still owned by them, Hesston for a few years was owned by Fiat until they bought Ford New Holland they had to sell off Hesston because of the Competition organization that told them to. When Fiat sold it Case IH and Agco bought each 50 % of Hesston until Case was bought by New Holland then the last 50 was sold to Agco
@@goatfarmmb thanks for the info . It's been so many trades , sell outs , hostile takeovers , ect over the years especially back in the 1980's that it's hard to keep up with them all . If INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER had just kept 1- tractor in each horsepower class instead of having multiple tractors in each horsepower class divided up between the 3 brands of McCormick , Farmall and INTERNATIONAL Harvester they could have survived the 80's as a individual company . But management panicked and dumped the tractor division . MF was a hostile takeover with agco getting a lot of it's people to slowly buy up stock . A lot of agco tractors are clearly updated MF designs with another name on the hood . Just about all 35 - 50 hp agco tractors are based on the old MF 35 tractors with newer tractor parts that are interchangeable with the old MF 35 parts .
How well did the transmissions hold up in these tractors? Also, how good was the engine in them?
The Cummins 5.9 is well known and a decent engine. The transmission if serviced per the manual was pretty much bullet proof. We had a 6175 on the farm and it had a 8.3l Cummins. Very good tractors.
It must be the Dyna-4 transmission used by MF and produced by GIMA in France.
They were awesome! Drove a demo in 1990 and it sold me on Gleaner combines. Have only owned Gleaner combines since then.
Turd Ferguson!
It's a white combine with massey paint and decals
Mas seu e o melhores TRATORESeteeta ok❤ articulado do Plan
What hp do think the tractor running the 5209 is?
Best mowers ever made. You simply can't beat how easy the cutter bars are to rebuild compared to a gear drive mower
Just sold my brother's 4880 and 4900 from his estate. Well maintained and had greater value than I expected. Those tractors, along with the 1800 and 1805, did a lot of work for many years!
Nice
I worked at a dealer when these came out, they dropped Hercules and Cat engines, they did tweak the controls a bit, other than that they was basically the same as the larger "Field Boss" tractors they replaced. The 100 replaced the 2-88/ 2-110 which has a Perkins engine.
I looking to find one of these planter for parts Anyone know of one sitting in a junk yard
Muito boa
Oliver was alway too advanced for the market. Agco seems to be the undertaker of the farm equipment industry picking up brands and exploiting them until they are of little value. Thanks for saving this video.
Was this a great combine or was it a flop?? Opinions from anyone that owned one or operated one?
Great machine
@@kronefarmservices thank you. i am a poultry farmer but i know nothing about row crop farming .
From what I read it was better then some other massey models because it has a Cummins and not the perkins
What were the massey windrowers like for those of you who ran them or owned them or both?
Was it a good combine in its day?? Was it better than it’s john deere equivalent?
It kicked that deer’s ass easily! It was one of the greatest Massey combines ever built.
nowadays you'd get sued for making other brands look bad in your ads. Even if it's true. But what they're really showing here is that the others don't have a transmission that's properly matched to the engine and the machine
Don't hurt em MF... 😂💯
What a dealer event to roll out AGCO. That would have been exciting to attend.
Really Good video. Wish there was one for the 4650
I’ve got a 4650 - been a solid tractor
Interesting. Didn' t know AGCO sold rebranded Same Explorer series tractors.
was a good series . 7120 2wd and a few 7085 awd i worked on had good tork rize and did very well . 7120 demo , 6-18 in frost ground barreled right thru the 6"frost .
Changed the diesel fillerneck, which were stupid,on mine 9240 s,so now on the rear directly into tank.
Like the 8,3 liter model with Funk 18/9 gearbox better.
The good ole days!
I miss the New Idea brand.
I do too AGCO IS CRIMINAL
I love the video, but wish it had sound. I really wish New Idea was still around.
It has sound. I just checked. Working fine for me.
Ahh take me back to the time when gleaners had the Allis Chalmers name on it
Growing up, we had a Cutditioner 272(?). Lost track of how many acres it cut. Bulletproof. other than routine greasing, the only maintenance I recall doing was knife sharpening/replacement.
A great.add! They were a great machine. I can't believe they couldn't have a place in the market today.
Those 903s sound so stinkin' good.
AGCO became the worst thing that happen to our farm corporate business buying up all the independent tractor company’s and controlling the parts supply now CNH is doing the same thing
No
If it had not been for AGCO the 22 brands it acquired in the 90’s would have simply gone out of business and there would be no parts for the machinery that came before AGCO. The company started from scratch and built up a strong product line in short order.
I think that its was knowledge that Allied Products was also interested in the Deutz Assets of North America. And given the relationship Hesston had with Fiat there was a possibility there. Cause look at the time line of Fiat Buying New Holland in 1991 within agcos 1st year of operation. Every Step of Agco has been Brand Buyouts to keep pace in technology.
Sad that they dumped everything into their heavy truck division and ran into the ground. If they would have stuck with tractors and listened to their engineers white could be around like John Deere is today.
Well u got to be mad at agco there the one's that bought white and got rid of white tractors
@@Ihfarmer23 they got rid of Allis to and it's literally in there name
@@brandonwood1397 yeah I always tell people that when they say whites not good cause it isn’t around anymore
Back in the mid 80's a neighbor of mine bought a new 4880. The only problem I remember him having was the welds on the fuel tanks cracked. Other than that it was a good tractor. He used to develop land for irrigation.
Those would have been international harvester machines had they stayed in business, the mowers are the same as the ih 90' series mower conditioners ND the disc cutter bar the same as ih mounted disc mowers, we had 1 mounted and 3 of the 1190's case ih built them also for a few years then went with hesston, then new holland. Love watching the old sales vidoes.
It's my understanding that Ih had actually contracted with NI to build their hay line. They also built choppers, mowers and rakes for ford as well. When Case IH bought 50% stake in Hesston they must have sold all the old ih design stuff to NI. They continued some of it for a while. I have yet to see a White painted NI chopper. Glad you enjoy these! I have many more to put up.
@@dickkeesey8889 yep that was my understanding, new idea could not manufacture the same equipment in their livey until the buy out from what I'm told .
The Ford Square baler at one time were built by massey and the round balers were gehls , kinda ike massey round balers were built by vermeer. Crazy how companies intermingled
@@morgan398 new idea did offer the choppers square balers and mowers in orange at the same time.
@@morgan398 ford square balers were built by long early on. I thought that was the case till they quit.
We sold over 400 New Idea Cutterbars and most are still running today. Thanks for the great videos and memories.
Glad you enjoy them!
Thanks for this. I’ve baled with a 6144 FWA with a White (Westendorf) 698SL
Glad you enjoyed it! I have many more to put up!
