normally u'd get to see Sunbeam get blown up if u disabled the cannon building before it came to get u, however a 2018 update patch sadly would *fully remove this out* & doing so would only glitch the timer to *count backwards* instend. still good of the dev's to take note of this anyway

I've seen the videos of the modders recreating the Sunbeam getting eaten by the Gargantuan Leviathan. I don't know if that was the original thing that was supposed to happen or just a thing someone did, but they should have included something like that. Would have been a neat secret to discover.

What would've been an incredible Sunbeam ending is if the gargantuan leviathan or something similar jumped out of the water and swallowed up the Sunbeam, like in the mod.

You're telling me they didnt have a short range shuttle or some small craft to send down

In earlier versions of the game, if you disabled the gun before sunbeam arrives it would still play the animation but the gun would be down

It would be funny if it landed but then the reaper leviathan came out and ate it

What if you start the countdown and then disable the cannon?

Seatruck - Fabricator - Storage - Prawn. Craft all titanium into Titanium Ingots, and all quartz into Glass. Then recycle them when you get home. You can store an extreme amount of resources this way. And don't forget to take advantage of the prawn suit storage capacity!

I know game design is hard, but surely have the sunbeam land if the player has finished the story before they arrive, I don't see how anyone is going to be disappointed that they didn't get to make the rocket. Especially if it's their first playthrough, and if it's not their first then who cares?

Wouldn't it be cool if we got an alternate way of escaping 4546B for the try-hards quick enough to save Sunbeam? At that point you would've already completed most of the story (all that's left is the grind for the materials for Neptune) and it's not like first-time players are gonna access that ending anyway (if they weren't spoiled, they wouldn't even know that they have to disable the Gun). Having a secret Sunbean ending would also lead to some cool speedruns!

Ok, now try waiting for the Sunbeam countdown to start, cure yourself, disable the weapon and see what happens. Another thing I wanna see is the Sunbeam getting destroyed as you take off in your rocket xD

There is 2 problems with this alternate story line. 1: If the player didn't disable the cannon, and it is still functioning. Sun beam comes down to get shot by it, ignoring the "issue" of the debri field. 2: If this debri field does exist, how does the player escape with the rocket without getting hit/destroyed? Maybe they plotted a course to avoid it or some kind of debri deflection program. But then it creates the problem that Sunbeam could have done that too circling back to the problem of there even being a debri field.

Lets be honest thats some poor writing

This is such a mercurial and massive game, but they made it near impossible to save the Sunbeam in survival mode! - you don't even know where the orbital cannon is until you get the Sunbeam's landing location and countdown and by the time you get into the gun and to its' control room (assuming you didn't have to make two trips to it because you had the purple tablet left in the escape pod, are likely left with less than ten minutes until it arrives, when you think you're just about to disable the gun and it stops up! Meanwhile I was watching videos of people curing their infection, it basically can't be done without high level gear as to do so you have to dive deep below the gun and complete various tasks which the 99% of players at this stage can't do at the point they likely are at like me, still swimming with 135 seconds of air and still very basic gear! I still can't make the propulsion gun to get into the Aurora's reactor, let alone make a submersible right now, so really the Sunbeam is basically doomed outside of create mode, but I guess the fire works well be pretty in a few minutes - R.I.P. Sunbeam crew, I hope it will be quick! 😯😂🩲😀🤘 .

Now i wonder if while the countdown starts for sunbeam to land, you disable the gun. Ik disabling the gun while the sunbeam is actually visibly landing they still get destroyed, so i wonder what would happen

So basically, when the planet actually was lethal to Sunbeam, they decide to attempt the rescue, but when you actually get rid of the one thing that was lethal to them, they just skedaddle.
