    Hi Madam Rachelle Wilkinson, I have a question about this video. + After I drew histogram I would like to sent this image go to Powpoint/Word, I want to delete a part I don't need ( example 1:12, a gray background ) only keep a white rectangle and reduce almost gray part. + How to delete a gray background ? (export and copy paste a selected area of graph ). I hope I would receive your answer soon. Thanks Madam Rachelle Wilkinson so much.

    • @RachelleWilkinson
      @RachelleWilkinson 2 года назад

      Hi....not sure what version of Minitab you are using, but if you double click on the graph in Minitab, it will bring up and "edit" window. Click on the area of the graph that you want to change color (like the background) and look for the paint can symbol to change the gray to white or something else. You can also get rid of, or change font on the axis labels to reduce extra gray space.

    Does 'SRS' stand for 'Sufficient Random Sample' or something else? Also, what is 'SPSS'? They are shown in the decision tree. Also, why should df be 'approximate' when running 'two-sample t procedures'? Appreciate a help here.

    • @RachelleWilkinson
      @RachelleWilkinson 3 года назад

      SRS stands for "Simple Random Sample"....a sampling method in which all samples of the same size have an equal chance of being the sample selected. SPSS is a statistical analysis program that is used frequently in the social sciences...there are formulas to do these computations as well, but my classes were not required to do the calculations by hand. When looking at the sampling distribution for the difference of two means, it does not follow an exact t distribution---hence the "approximate". There is a nasty formula you can use to determine df, that will be more accurate, however it is much easier to just take the smaller of n1-1 and n2-1, so without software to do the nasty calculations, most people use that instead. The df estimate this way is "conservative" meaning that you will get a higher number than if you used the nasty formula, so p-values will be slightly larger and confidence intervals will be slightly wider.

    • @josephtran1500
      @josephtran1500 3 года назад

      SPSS is a statistical software package. You see that in the tree because that is what you use to solve the problem. Essentially, you enter the important parameters and it will do the calculation for you per the test you select.

    To see the add-ons button in the toolbar you need to work on a google sheets document (i.e. not an excel file .xlsx for instance). Also you should find add-ons (google marketplace) by clicking the "+" on the vertical bar on the very right of your screen (below the icons for calendar, keep and tasks). Still, the Statistics package hasn't migrated in the marketplace so it is unavailable. If anyone has suggestions for other add-ons that can do the job please let us know (the candlestick chart is pretty dreadful)!
