I had an order on 3 kettle helmets for heavy re-enactment fighting from 2mm (14ga) mild steel , my first time making armour from that thick steel. 3 of them took me about 8 days of 7 to 10 hours of work each day which is epic for me cause I have thought they will at least take me a month O.o my Instagram: stacho.forge?hl=pl my Facebook page: Stacho-the-knight-1136151...

    How different would you say would the process be if you also added metal lanes to the insides of harness for fuller covering? I’m looking to make a set of splinted arm and leg harness in the German style with lanes alternating on the inside and outside, as seen on the effigy of Sir Burchard van Steinberg (also this piece looks absolutely gorgeous)

    • @stacho-v1n
      @stacho-v1n 2 месяца назад

      Not very different only you wouldn't have to grind or polish the inside plates and try to make the holes in leather pretty even cause it will catch the eye if the holes uneven on leather

    Nie zgadłam z kształtem, nie wygląda na ten sprzedawany z kolekcji Wallace'a. Byłeś zbyt leniwy, nie zwisałeś trochę w okolicy ogona, nie opadałeś do wewnątrz z obu stron. Drugi wizjer się powiódł, trzecia próba nie. Półkę pod szczelinami rewizyjnymi należy formować, gdy jest gorąca, a następnie uzupełniać, gdy jest zimna. Nie wierć stali na konopiach, jest róg kowadła, ale wierć na drewnie. Spawaj szczęki imadła, wyglądają żałośnie, nie spalaj na nich elektrod. Powodzenia!
