How much Money I made at my First Fair Selling Candles (Small Business Vlog from Paris)
1 week has passed since my first fair ever with my first business which is a candle business and I still can't believe that I sold over 80 candles in 2 days and made over $1600! I mean before that I hadn't really sold a single candle to a stranger so this is a big win for me. It felt so good seeing what I've been working on for more than a year get some recognition. Now moving on to the next fair.

Set up your SUMUP Card Reader with me (step by step tutorial & unboxing)
Просмотров 16 тыс.2 года назад
I got a sum up card reader to accept cart payments on fairs and in pop-up stores 🛍 It’s very cheap and very easy to use and after trying it on several fairs and pop up stores so far I can say that I definitely recommend it for any small business owner. They don’t charge monthly fees, only a certain percentage on every transaction.

Probably the only tip I would be confident enough to give you for your small business up to now is go sign up for a fair! I haven‘t sold anything in the first half year of starting my first business and going to fairs changed EVERYTHING! Sometimes bigger fairs are expensive but organizers gladly give you a discount if you say you just started your small business and couldn‘t afford it otherwise...
How to Get From 0 to 1000 Sales

It‘s fascinating to me how entrepreneurs start their own brand, which struggles they go through and how they ove...

In addition to the shame of having to tell everybody, I will have spent so much time (2 y...

I‘m spending ~$1k to attend a fair w/ my candles without really having sold one yet .. Can‘t say I feel very confident about that decision lol. 2000-3000 are expected so it would be reasonable to have around 100 candles with me which would serve 2-5% of the audience which I hypothesize to be my target audience. This means hours and hours or grinding and then they also need to be poured of cours...
How to Validate Your New Business Ideas - with Debbie (Founder of Devï)

She had a great strategy that allowed her to see early on what people think which ...

The Most Important Thing Before Starting Your Business: Idea validation!

I decided to learn it today but my usual 2-index-but-sometimes-right-ring-finger-for-backspace-and-left-pinky-for-shift typing, which is apparently around 40-50 wpm.. dropped to less than 10 wpm. Now with keybr it's apparently 11 wpm.. it doesn't feel like it's getting me anywhere but maybe eventually

So this a pretty terrible idea for one reason - these external drives are notoriously unreliable and should not be trusted with anything that isn’t backed up or that is critically important. Easy solution - be sure to backup your files to the cloud or another drive (HDD are slow but are typically more reliable). A 2 bay “DAS” with RAID 1 is essentially the same as this but with redundancy for your important files and should also be backed up. Cheers!

Also, keybr is really cool cause you can customize your lessons. I always bump it up to have a each word start with a capital letter, and use punctuation between each word as well. Bought blank key caps too. Forces you to keep your eyes on the screen and off the keyboard.

  • @InfoSecGSO
    @InfoSecGSO 5 месяцев назад

Keyby has been amazing for me. I never touch-typed in my life, then, after breaking my wrist in 3 places, and extensive surgery, there was no way I could look-type anymore, or use a traditional keyboard for any length of time, (needed a bio-mechanic/ergonomic keyboard). And so, I purchased a Kinesis Advantage 360 split keyboard, and holy ****. What a learning curve, not just learning to touch-type, but adjusting to the split keyboard too. After 3 months of 30 min a day on keybr, approximately 5 days a week, I am now proficient, albeit slow, 22wpm first thing in the morning, then 32wpm after I warm up. Despite that, it is so much fun. Wish I made myself learn to touch-type years ago, and wish I bought this keyboard years ago too. Thanks for the video. You got some helpful info.

Your step by step method -on a MacBook like mine- was PERFECT! One small (my test) library has transferred successfully. Next when I have time is 260GB (oh yes!) of iMovies. What slows me down personally is that I have to constantly switch between English and German. Not just the words, but also the keyboard layout. Most mistakes I make is the Z and Y which is on the opposite of each other. That makes me often "think" where I have to press or just simply makes me mistype and correct it. I also cannot utilize all ten of my fingers. I use only like 8 of them. I stuck at around 60-70 wpm due to this. I remember years ago before I went abroad and was just writing German on a German keyboard layout, I was at around 80-90 wpm. Without even exercising.

  • @ivan.rusanov

I've used the site for a month and a half, coming from a decent typing speed. I am finally matching my previous speed of ~55wpm and getting better every day. At some point though, my old system was not working anymore as I was advancing in the course and that was messing with my old habits. So I was typing a lot slower than usual (in both incorrect and correct ways). This course definitely works, but it is a bit annoying at times with all those made up words, because some of them are almost a real word with a missing letter, which makes my brain read the real word and the hands follow. I'm a coder, so I now need to re-learn how to code efficiently using all my 10 fingers. Still struggling a bit with letter "P" when it is followed by an adjacent letter like "O". eg. in "people". Thanks for the video!
