Trail Rides - West Sechelt
These are four D-bike (and enduro/adventure) friendly trails (big adventures will get a good workout). They are not advanced, but very enjoyable for a rider like me who just likes a good trail with places to see along the way.
All four are located behind West Sechelt.
Hand Grenade
Hand Bomb
Frogger
Brat (and out Easy Street)
Best way to find these is to look them up on an app or website like Trailforks.
I have them GPXed as well, and can share, but the are pretty easy to find.
Some time stamps if you want to view each trail highlights individually.

This a little video on a ride up to south Elphinstone where there used to be a cabin and apparently a small ski are, including a rope-tow. Nothing much left other than the ruin of the cabin and another building. I had unfinished business up there as the last time I was up the clouds were in and visibility was poor. This day was great. This a little hike on the lower Sunshine Coast, near Madeira Park. This trail begins out on Beaver Island, otherwise known as Francis Peninsula. The trail is pretty easy, but being sure of foot is a plus due to some angled rock walking, tree roots, and some precarious spots where the trail gets narrow. After a strenuous ride the previous day, I though I would just explore at a slow pace, so easy roads. Just didn't pan out. Multiple steep bolder climbs, and washouts. Only one laydown (slow speed). Great Day!
Topping Mt Elphonstone

Have tried a couple of times to get up to the top of this local mountain. First few times it was common sense telling me not to try alone, as some of the washouts were pretty severe. New few were hampered by snow barring the way. Finally today was the day. Took my time and picked my way. Very hard going in spots, and even though the clouds obscured the views, it was rewarding. Conquering barriers!

This was a ride a buddy and i completed in 2019 through the British Columbia Interior. We met up in Aggassiz and rode the Fraser Canyon to to Spences Bridge. Phare Lake

In 2019, Wormy Lake was renamed John Phare Lake. The name honours John Phare of Roberts Creek, who died while fighting the Old Sechelt Mine wildfire, which destroyed more than 400 hectares of forest in July 2015. The renaming of the lake and the construction of the trail around it, is a great tribute to this local hero.
