    You will find parts for the John Deere when you need them. But it will come with a price. John Deere distributors mark up parts to ridiculous prices. A common 48” standon mower rear tire was quoted at $225 BEFORE Joe Biden, plus shipping of $30. With tax that is close to $275. The exact same tire off Amazon was $79.95 for 2 tires. Yes, a pair of tires for $79.95. I could give you many other quotes for parts.

    I don't ever use water on my mower. Its a 2019 and still looks brand new. I spray it down with dry wash and a towel. Then I put a coat of meguiars hyper dressing on everything. It helps the dirt and grass not to stick to the paint. I wish I could post a pick of it to show ya what my 4 year old mower looks like. I have the snapper pro ss100 which is the Ferris z1. Great video informative and concise!! Right to the point. Most these lawn tractor dudes make freakin half hour videos, ain’t nobody got time for that!! My LA145 turns over but won’t start. Think it’s cuz I left fuel in it over the winter. I’m gonna try replacing fuel filter and spark plugs, hope that works. You might like Pro Car Beauty Red Devil degreaser. That’s what I use and I find it’s a lot more effective than purple power. Takes that residue right off after letting it sit for a minute so you don’t have to use a magic eraser. Nice Ferris! I’ve got the 3200 and I LOVE it. People might say doing this is stupid but if you take care of your equipment it’ll take care of you. Not sure if it’s just the type of blade or the bigger engine but the z960 just cuts so well. Only draw back in my opinion is that it’s such a huge and heavy mower. Not as versatile as a a stander.

    • @LowerLawns
      @LowerLawns 3 года назад

      Ehh, I disagree I use both Deere mowers(yes I bought another) every day the last two seasons and not a single issue and the cut quality is fantastic. The best part is I can leave them with my dealer for regular maintenance and it doesn’t cost $600+ dollars and take a month to get done(which was the case with my local Ferris dealers) I spend roughly $250 for oil, filters(air fuel, oil), plugs, new blades, greasing and cleaning and get my machines back in less than 7 days(usually 2-3).

  • @billezech

    I have been using Ferris srs z2 and z3x and totally understand what you're going through man! My z2 was new in 2017 and my one hydro gear blew out and it was about a $2,000 repair. I just bought this machine 3 years ago and this happened. Well luckily Ferris replaced the part for free and my dealer took care of the labor. But the mechanic said they tried to get the other one replaced too but Ferris wouldn't do it. Well the end of last season the other one started leaking. Luckily I bought a new z3x back in August and that's my backup if my z2 is in the shop. I'm going to have to look into the JD's more now! 👍

    • @LowerLawns
      @LowerLawns 3 года назад

      Yes sir I still love and use my z2 to this day even though I’ve bought three new Deere mowers. I truly believe they’ve got the greatest mower I just can’t get good help for the darn thing when I need it. Our local ag pro on the other hand has been absolutely phenomenal for fixing equipment they do all my Stihl equipment and mower repairs now and Deere financial has fantastic credit line for businesses (15,000) which is great for emergencies and it’s a “hidden trade line” so it doesn’t ding your credit monthly. If Ferris has that level of support it would be a no brainer all day but Deere has relieved a lot of headaches man.

  • @robbyagee5945
    @robbyagee5945 3 года назад

    Ed says in one of his video's that the JD is an older version of the Wright stander. It looks like John Deere is using different pumps, all the Wright stuff uses Hydro-gear, I didn't see the sticker on the pumps for yours.

    • @LowerLawns
      @LowerLawns 3 года назад

      Yeah, it’s by no means wright standers best tech...why would it be? Smart on both Wright stander and Deere if you ask me. Wright gets a big check for older tried and true tech(outdated but still works like it would have) and Deere gets a foot in the stander space for what is pennies to them. I do not believe the deck is wrights deck though. Unless I’m missing a model I can’t find one that’s similar and it’s certainly not a Deere 7 iron deck. I think the 7 iron deck would take this thing to a crazy level.

      The Deere is just fine. I have no plans to buy another one at the moment. I still run my old Ferris z2 for hills and the z960 for faster cuts on big lawns. Right now for 2021 I’m working on finding a good truck with four seats to hire a couple of people to help with mulch/pine straw and trimming hills and lakes. By 2022 If things work out with employees I would like to get a ramp rack(trailerrack.com) for my current 2 door Dodge Ram and send two guys out with that truck setup with a couple smaller machines. Essentially running two trucks by that point.

      Give it a shot man. You may have to change to a high lift blade once it is off. Mine had a multi purpose mulch/discharge blade on it since it came with the mulch kit. I switched out for the standard high lift discharge blades removed the mulch kit and it’s so much better. One thing to remember though is that this deck is likely to be different than yours. The Deere standers were outsourced to wright for the build and is therefore a wright stander deck design...yours will be a true John Deere deck most likely. There’s a lot of different factors to look into with a poor cut. Even just the grass types can trip you up.
