Why domestic/household appliances are connected in parallel????
Domestic appliance are connected in parallel because of the following reasons:
1)in parallel, each individual appliance can have separate switch ,but in series if we put off the switch then all appliance will be off & if we put on the switch all appliance will start working at the same time,it means we can't control their on/off
2)if there is any faulty appliance there will be circuit break & current cannot pass through the other appliance in series, but in parallel each appliance work independently they will not have any effect
3)in series connection, there is voltage drop across the load ,means voltage decreases, but all appliance work on 230v
4)Requivalent in series is more than individual re...

Conductor carrying current develops its own magnetic field, when it is placed perpendicular in between the permanent magnets. There will be two magnetic fields ,they will interact with each other & cancel out each other
Electric Potential & Potential Difference||Concept of Electric Potential & Potential Difference

What is the difference between electric potential & potential difference?? Electric potential:-The work done against the force of repulsion to bring a charge closer to the other is called electric potential. Potential Difference:-Potential difference between any two points is defined as the difference in electric potentials at those points. Vab=Va-Vb If potential at point A is higher than at po...

Difference between Generator & Alternator Alternator & Generator are both mechanical devices that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.Apart from that, they are different in every aspect. The major point that differentiates between an alternator & generator is that in an alternator, the magnetic field rotates around a stationary armature & in generator, the armature rotates inside a st...

What is Grading of cables..Why it is required?? Grading of cables are done to uniformly distribute the dielectric Stress of the dielectric cable. Dielectric stress is maximum at the surface of the conductor & minimum at the inner side of the surface which leads to insulation breakdown of the cable.Hence grading is necessary to maintain uniform stress across the cables. There are two methods of ...
