Step 3 Pouring Resin - How to Mix, Color and Pour Epoxy Resin so its beautiful.

You must ensure your ratios are correct and you don't have leaks. In this video, I will show you step-by-step how to mix your epoxy, colour it, and, most importantly, pour your resin.

This is my favorite cutting board design, how much do you sell this for.
Hi, It really depends on size and where I'm shipping it to. Please feel free to email me at custom.maple.woodworks@gmail.com
Very nice. I like how you mirrored the walnut on each side of the maple
Thank you very much! I wanted to keep it for myself, but I don't think my customer would have been happy. lol
Damn. Reminds me of something my Dad woulda made before his liver cirrhosis killed him. (This is a compliment. A high one.)
I'm sorry for your loss. Maybe it's time for you to take over where your dad left off, and continue the family tradition. Thank you for the complement.
Very pretty!
Thank you! 😊

Great honest review
Thank you. It's still working great today.
I Appreciate the review. Is the vacuum chamber still holding up well?
Hi Kelly, Yup, I use it regularly and it's still working like new.
Hey everyone, please feel free to leave your comments or questions below.
Thanks so much for the great information
You are welcome. I hope this helps you.
I'll😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you so much for the comment.
Hey great video for starters thanks for taking the time to make such an informative video. I don’t know if I missed it or if you didn’t say but I was wondering what is the resin that you’re using?
Hi, I try to always use R-Cast River Epoxy. Below is a link. ryverepoxy.com/en/produit/r-cast2-0-uv-3gallons-kit/
Great work
Thank you so much 😀
Make your own epoxy resin kitchen table? Because we all have an industrial sized surface planer in our garage?
I wish I had one. I found a shop near me that charges me $100 per table to flatten. Id rather pay the $100 then stand there for 8 hours sanding. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, please feel free to leave any questions or comments you may have below and I will get back to you ASAP.
Please feel free to leave any questions you have here and I will be happy to answer them.
One correction: it is cambium.
@@fifi23o5 Hi, you are correct. I just had difficulty saying that. lol.
Awesome work Rob
Thank you.
Amazing
Thank you Patrizia.
Rob, I must say that the table by itself - maple with a live edge - is gorgeous. Then you added the resin and WOW! I definitely subscribed and will share. You got me and now I'm going to check out all your other work! Thank you so much!
Hi Charlie, Thank you so much. I showed this table to a client, and he ordered a similar one, plus benches and a coffee table.
Hey everyone, please feel free to leave any questions or comments.
Looks great, who's your beautiful assistant.
My Son? lol
Looking forward to seeing Part 2
Perfect, I'm working on it right now.
Can you engrave a name on a charcuterie board that you’ve already made for me?
For you Z, absolutely. Just bring it to my place.
Caio bello. Bellissimo !
Thank you Mr. Dev.

I just got mine wed...4 days ago. I'm at 800m elevation. It's a 5 gal tank. It got to -28.5 bar or 99.94 vacuum and has held it (all valves closed, pump off) at -28.5 bar till now!!!!
Hey John, Yup, I must admit I love this vacuum chamber. My resin is 10x clearer. Do you do bigger projects or smaller ones?
can I use 1:1 ratio resin? I would like to know if the resin doesn't harden while it's inside the vacuum and then become sticky before use it. My purpose is to use it for flower preservation.
Hi Carmen, Thank you for your question. Yes, you can. As a matter of fact, the first resin I show in this video is a 1:1 ratio resin. The one thing to look for is the "pot life" of resin. Your resin should say something like "45 minute pot life", that is the amount of time you have before the resin starts its exothermic reaction (in other words, when it will start to harden). Also, keep in mind that if it's in a cup like I put it in, it will harden a lot faster because of the temperature of the resin rising. Please feel free to post more questions if you have them. Robert
@@maplewoodworks thanks :)
Nice tests
Thank you.
Just got this same engraver a few Weeks ago. I've got the 900x900 extension and have added drag chains and built a cardboard enclosure which works surprisingly well- I even put off building an MDF enclosure just so that I could experiment more with the cardboard design, like I learned that where the exhaust is located effects the smoke staining so I expanded the cutout for where the air is exhausted from. I've added access doors to the back side (since it's 900x900 its hard to get to those back corners). I've also made an attached focuser to replace the aluminum cylinder- it folds down from the side of the laser to focus and folds back up when it's tightened. I've also lasered out some tabs that snug onto the 2 nuts on the back of the laser so I don't have to reach around to tighten. Got my first few projects done already- Christmas/Birthday gifts along with a few WIP ideas for Etsy- not quite ready to start a store just yet though. I love this thing, wish I'd gotten into Lazing a long time ago. Nice vid!
Thanks for the comment. I can't tell you how many things I've made with my sculpfun, but take a look at one of my newer videos and you will see a bunch of things I've made hanging behind me.
@@maplewoodworks I'll do that. Nice video btw :D
@@maplewoodworks Subbed btw :D
Nicely done! Love that green color, what do you use to color your epoxy?
Hi @fiveduckstudio, Thank you for your comment. I used Black Diamond Emerald Green for the colour. P.S. Love the work you are doing.
@@maplewoodworks thank you, thank you!
Looks awesome :D
Thank you, I'm glad you like it. R
Hi, Please feel free to leave your comments/questions below, and I will respond ASAP.
Thank you for a great video im new to lasering and i have a sculpfun S30 pro will the settings be the same as what you used
Hi, Thank you for your comment. I do think your results will be similar to mine. However you should do a test run to get the perfect settings. One thing you way want to consider, slow down your laser to 3000mm per minute that may give you better engraving results. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
Do you have an AliExpress link for these coasters? Also, were you pleased with their quality?
Hi Tom, Here is the link (I'm not sure if this link will be blocked by RUclips). It was a perfect experience for me. Shipping was on time, and all 300 coasters were in great shape. I would buy from them again. 360-craft.en.alibaba.com/product/1600616309143-915149216/Wholesale_Black_Non_Slip_Engraving_Drink_Slate_Stone_Bulk_Coasters_Set_Round_Blank_Gift_Box_With_Holder.html?spm=a2700.shop_index.37411.1.728f1deckQ37Tp
That is a beautiful serving board! I love it! Nice added touch with the coaster. 😃
Thanks so much! 😊

Hallo Rob, I'm starting my own business and i need some help with determining the price for the customer. how do you determine the price for this order? maybe if you don't want to make this information public here that we can get in touch?
Hi Joeri, That is a difficult question to answer. But, this is how I calculate what I charge people. 1) Price of material. If I bought it at a wholesale price, I will bump up the cost of the material reflect the normal selling price. Then, I'll give them a discount on the material costs. 2) Shop hourly charge. Determine an hourly rate for your shop/time. Lets say you are charging $40 per hour. Then take $40 x the amount of time you worked on it. As for this order, I charged them prep time + shop time + materials. Please feel free to email me anytime at burinrobert@gmail.com
Great video! I am interested in engraving some slate coasters in case I get any requests. I really appreciate all the details you gave: ordering and delivery time; prepping the surface and the exact type you used. Finally you gave the specs on power and speed (the most important parts).
Thank you. I really do try my best to pass on my knowledge. I remember how frustrating it was when I first started using my laser engraver. Now, I love making signs, coasters and just engraving family names into projects I make. Take your time and enjoy it. Robert
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to something custom made.
Just assembled my Sculpfun ... same model and power.
I just finished a bunch of projects with mine. I'm currently engraving 200 slate coasters for a wedding. Thanks for watching. Rob
Nice project and great video Rob !
Thank you Dave. I'm just working on a brick pattern next. Toasted Ash and Cherry wood.
I hope you like the video. Sorry for the sound in the second part. I didn't realize my mic wasn't working.
dayum looks good
Thank you. I glad you like it.
Hi Rob, I just wanted to say I love your channel!! What a beautiful charcterie board! I would love to have one just like that.
Thank you, Diana. I would love to make one for you. Please let me know how long of a board you would like, and I assume you would like a Burple colour resin? just like in the video?
@@maplewoodworks Yes I am interested in buying one with the purple resin. The one in your video would be a good size. How much do you charge?
Hi everyone, I hope you enjoy my video. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them below.
Amazing restoration Rob. I think you should laser etch your signature into all of your pieces. Suggestion for another series : how about you in the kitchen ? “Rob’s got food”
I will be etching my logo into all of my pieces from now on. Rob's Got Food... Good Idea. Will test all my dishes to ensure quality? hahahahaha
Great videos Rob. Watched all of them tonight. Can you do inlays in these boards ? Ivory. Gold. Stainless steel ?
I've done a few boards with inlays in them. Would you like to send me some gold and I'll try it for you? hahahaha
Dog house for you
No, I think that rose might save me.
Hahahaha, No chance you are avoiding that dog house.
The trick is to buy her something nice before you get home from work.
enjoyed~ relly super unboxing! peace out~ :))
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you. Rob
