Lifelong history nerd collecting a wide variety of items, pictures, weapons, gear, and more spanning from World War 1 through the Vietnam War eras. I've been seriously focused on collecting for about 5 years. This is what I have to share with everyone. @@livinghistorymilitaria not common at all. In my experience you can’t even find named uniforms under £200

@@livinghistorymilitaria yes as far as I can tell they were just used untill they had worn away as clothing was Rationed well into the fifties

I was on Tanks for a little over 20 years and then became a Tach Rep for GD. CVC's havent changed much have they?

Great helmet, been thinking about getting one myself. However, I would suggest looking at some ways to protect some of the items displayed on the foam heads. As the stryofoam degrades it releases various gases that can damage old pieces, especially organic material like leather. If left on long enough, the leather and foam can be fused together and damage/ruin a piece. Glass and acrylic heads are the safest (but obviously more expensive), but even just wrapping the styrofoam heads in something like cloth or a acid free paper can save a lot of damage to these amazing pieces.
@Frenchieboi1886 good piece of advice! I'll have to give them little cloth coverings, I've got 1 glass head but that's got a gas mask on it currently

Great stuff man, used to own that top middle helmet. I was told it came from a farmer who apparently dug it up in the Somme battlefields decades after the war.

@BritishMilitaria so this actually belonged to my wife's step fathers late mother, it was in my mother in laws kitchen for a while and when they remodeled they decided they didn't want it and kept it for me until we got a house. Very old and very very heavy, solid oak!

How much money do the Ww1/ww2 doughboy/Brodie helmets cost?
On average the painted ones without liners go for $60-100, the ones with complete liners can go for 100-300 based on what they've got

PLEASE take the gas masks off the styrofoam heads, styrofoam degrades the rubber.
