PowerTRONIC review on Continental GT 535

This is a out of the box review. You should tune the bike to spec to get the full potential. I'm not doing that since I don't think there will be a great difference. My goal is to cruise at 140 kph and not lose stock acceleration, that's why I'll be installing cams in the next vid!

So here are the downsides : _Steering lock (when parked) will not engage anymore _Tight turns are not your friend anymore. You'll have to back up and reverese once or twice where before you could just take one tight turn. (almost crashed into my own car when driving out the garage ) No problems while riding.

quel est est le gain pour les performances du moteur ? il faut reprogramer l'injection?
it looks like you had to remove a bit of stuff to get to the plug. What all and how did you access it?
Mine was actually at the front center of the bike, just behind that intake vent thing, I used a long screw driver to hook the wire and pulled it to the side, right side to be exact, and then I was able to get my hand in. I actually cut my wires first (you don't need to do this, and then I just followed the wire up and unplugged it. There may have been some zip ties holding it, but they were hard to cut off. I had a long tanto knife. Doing it this way, I didn't have to take anything off other than the sensor. You can order a new sensor pretty cheap from ebay.
@@AshU-ug2fythank you. My sensor is out and also my bike won’t start it’s weird. It’ll prime start for two seconds running then turn off. After that it won’t prime again for a few hours. More than just the switch in the stand
@@kurtmakeemhurt6657 check the relays on the left side of the bike as well. My starter relay has failed 3 times!!! My bike would do that do, it would choke. Last but not least, I had a bad kill switch, I don't have a garage or cover and water got inside. So.... 1. Check relays (swap them around and see if the starter works, you may need to buy new ones) 2. Delete kickstand 3. Check kill switch The relays are the bane to my existence because between the kickstand and the relay I had complete power failure whole riding on the highway. 😫 Edited for clarification
The same that my spanish very very old SANGLAS 400.
Hello what’s the size 12mm ? For the filter ? And what you use to close the hole on air filter ?😊
Hi Nate, Would you mind sharing your map or a video or a tip on how to remap the ECU?
My maaaan! You got this all wrong my friend. Tk lower the clip ons you have to undo 2 bolts, lower the handlebar then tighten them back. Wtf are you doing my friend?

Look who's here after 4 freaking years What about the continental gt mate...
I know 😅 I only post stuff that I can't find on RUclips myself. At the time there wasn't much to find about the GT but it was sold a long time ago. Next bike project is a Suzuki gsxr 750 SRAD :)
Any gain on the power?
No, if the engine is stock it's no use :)
It's not hindu it's Hindi 🤣
if you really want reliability you can remove all the relays except of course the starter relay I did it in mine and went further and converted it to a harley carburetor and cdi ignition, the bike has no more issues I did have to put an after market speedo on it as I removed the ECU as well and the tacho didnt function with the new CDI cheers
You are not lowering them you are putting them back to the original position someone has dropped the bike down to make the fork protrude above the yoke to fit the bars there.
That is the hardest possible way to achieve this. You have severely over complicated the process. All I did was remove the top yoke. Took less than 30 mins and there was no worry about lining things back up.
I’m looking to do this myself in the next few days. Any chance you could explain in detail how you did it please. Much appreciated
@@dominicdouglas66 Don,t follow this it is all wrong
@@dominicdouglas66 just simply remove the bars, followed by the top yoke nut and side bolts... less than 20 minutes
I cannot locate the socket on my BS6 Interceptor. Everything is black. No red socket. My motorcycle shuts down when I engage the first gear. Looks like the sensor is faulty.
What you did as a solution?
@@vibrantalien430 I took it to the service center when the bike started. There is a cotter pin which was missing (fell down). They installed a new one and the problem was fixed. Sensor was not bad.

Hey Nate, this is wonderful. By any chance have you re tunned the powertronics module if yes, can you share the map with me I have a interceptor and kindoff running with a similar setup

Thank you for the video.
Great video! What lithium battery did you choose? I am looking for the right one to do a swap. Thanks
Dont really remember but you can just measure and be sure + and - are int the same position. Then you're good.
where you from bro...

Will you be doing more vids on the gt?
No it's sold :)
What do you mean by sacrificing a wrench
Do you have probelms with starting your motorcycle? I also have a GT 535 and the battery is not charging while I am driving... it really is annoying
Take a look at the stator. Maybe broken wire
what else did you do with the licence plate holder, just replaced the rear light ( i have seen the other video) and added the new blinkers, so the plate itself is the original one?
Too much steal !! Yes and the side covers over battery and the other side weights like another ~10k, wish i could plastic ones for them.

Visually useless.
Hey, why dont you get the Handelbar Down by losetn only the Fork Top? Is it possible to do it without loseten Wheel an slide the Fork Down? I Think it could be easier 🙄 I want to get Down the handelbar too on my Conti!
How much full set wiring GT Continental 535
Isn't that 1:04 screw there to lock the clip-ons to stop them from rotating back and forth?
Your oiling valve thing is actually the automatic decompressor. When rotating slow enough (cranking the engine) it opens the exhaust valve slightly to get rid of compression. Thus allowing for easy starting and less strain on the starter motor.
Aaaah so that's what it is! Thanks!
Good !
what is the length of handle bar now?

I've installed the cams today and also the amal carb ..No idea if it's the carb or the cams bit it's running awful..
The mystery component on your old exhaust cam gear at 8:48 has nothing to do with oil supply - it's an automatic decompressor. See here for an explanation of how it works ruclips.net/video/vU0QPhhpJ-E/видео.html, and here for instructions to repair it ruclips.net/video/Py-s9aTW7Lw/видео.html.
Bro have u faced a problem of that electric start not working issue in GT 535?
Naah
Bro why not raise ur exhaust little upwards(rather than flat) it looks very good that way. But it's just my opinion 👍
I was wondering if u can show us a test run of ur bike. I’d also like to shift my GT’s powerband a li’l higher in the rev range.
And yes, a snapshot of your latest dyno test will be highly appreciated
@@eeshandev posted a video of a ride but video quality sucks. I'm not going to the dyno anymore, I'm happy with the tune at this point
Nate Wrenches saw the ride video just now. By the sound of it, the engine seems to rev freely to higher RPMs. Don’t u have any old dyno test charts at ur disposal?

Sindh speaks Sindhi language .Hindi or simplified Sanskrit is like Infinity Fabric, Ether . All though i love this bike it has huge torque for Single cylinder 90mm long stroke fun to ride . Hi Nate. I was wondering if you would be willing to sell the map you have been working on yourself with the option of having a copy of the dyno tuned one if this happens? All the best, Steve
Sure I'll try to what's app. Dyno might take some time. The guy forgot the appointment and now I dont have a lot of time in the near future.. So it ll be a couple weeks at least. Been running my map without problems. Just needs some fine tuning at part throttle.
Looks good! Do you know what the size of the allen bolt is that goes from the clip-on handlebar into the top yoke on the forks? You had your finger on it at 1:04.
Hi. Looks like your video has come about just right as I too am thinking of doing this & I also have the powertronic. I would be happy to contribute a share if feasible for the map once done. What cost is this likely to be? Do you think it worth while replacing the valves/springs also that Hitchcoks sell, or is there not much benefit from this? Has that whining stopped by the way? I'm guessing you have watched many videos on adjusting the backlash? Don't suppose you would be willing to post the link of the one you think best & would recommend. All the best, Steve
Won't be more than 25 euros, not looking to get rich.. Kind of depends on how hard the tuner wants to f×ck me xp The whining is there but I've done more than 300km now and doesn't get worse, oil is clean so not too worried. Naah only some Indian videos where they show you how to ruin your engine. Just use the old cams as a reference point. And too loose is safer than too tight. I'll do a vid when it's tuned. The valves aren't bigger, and there is a video of the Hitchcock bike on the dyno. They never rev it more than 6200 so I didn't see the point for valve springs also. It's just 700rpm over the original redline. It's safer probably but a lot more money and work Cheers
Thanks Nate. Count me in to contribute to a share of the map. Think I will stick to just the cams in this case. Not looking to be red lining it everywhere all the time to be fair. 6200 is good for me time to time. When are you thinking of dyno tuning? Cheers,
Does it really improve performance?
I made a review video of it
Be great to hear how you got on with tuning the powertronic and what you think of the cams - thinking of doing the same on my classic but it's a fair bit of money and reviews are hard to find... Cheers
Already riding it. I got the tune to a point where it drives well, did a two hour trip yesterday. Tomorrow the fine tuning will be done on the dyno. (I'll do a review then) The cams are a definite improvent. It's not a cbr600 but it's not the low-down torque tractor engine anymore. The power is extended up the rev range. It keeps pulling up to 6000rpm. Not much more speed with standard sprockets but much more pleasing to drive. Downside is that the gears whine some like a reverse car gear. At first I thought they might be too tight so loosened them a little more but still the same.
Oh and I might sell the file after it's dyno tuned. Because dyno tuning isn't cheap :p
