My 5 Star Motorcycle Dealership
This is NOT a sponsored video.
Following my previous video on the sate of the Motorcycle Industry and how the "Industry Disruptors" continue to effected the Market both in Europe and the rest of the world, which has effected sales numbers for some Motorcycle Manufacturers and a lot of Big UK Motorcycle Dealerships in a very sticky position.
I decided to publish this video about my local Royal Enfield Dealership, who are a relatively small family run business, with over 100 years of trading History & experience, and are, primarily a Royal Enfield Stockist, focused on Great Customer Service.
They are perhaps the archetypal Royal Enfield Dealership.

Market Disruptors

This video is about the current state of the Motorcycle Industry in the UK and abroad and in my opinion what the primary causes are that has lead to this decline in Motorcycle Sales, causing Dealerships to go into receivership and for Motorcycle manufacturers to find them selves in a very tough position. 450 Himalayan V Guerrilla

This video is an assessment of the New Royal Enfield 450 Himalayan versus the New 450 Guerrilla. My mate Paul and I rode these bikes back-to-back to be able to get a feel of the 2 bikes, one being a true Naked Road bike and the other being more of an Adventure Style bike, both on similar frames with the same New 450, single cylinder, Water Cooled, 40BHP Sherpa engine. Paul was looking to acquir...

Touring Screen Review - Do They Work?
Просмотров 4125 месяцев назад
This video is a short review on the Aftermarket Touring Screen that I bought for Jimi. The video does a review with the New Touring Screen at various speeds to see how this effects the wind blast over the screen and onto my body and into my helmet and then I do at test with the Stock Himalayan screen at various speeds to asses the difference. Preventing wind blast is important for 2 reasons. Fi...
Poole Bike Night 2024

This video is a short video of Me & Jimi visiting the Poole Bike Night earlier in the year. The Poole Bike Nights starts from the 16th April until the end of August. The Quay is closed off to other traffic and the gates for Bikes opens at 5.30pm. It costs £3 to get onto the Quay with your Bike and it is a very relaxed, night well marshalled event with a Bike of the Night competition, live music...

A bunch of us from the Hatfield Royal Enfield Riders Club joined the day, starting out from The White Heart in Pirbright towards the Guildford & Sussex event. 452 Himalayan Test Ride

This video is with thanks to the guys at Hatfields of Crowthorne who are my local Royal Enfield Dealer for letting me take out the new 452 Himalayan for a Test Ride to give you my views on the bike. The question was "Is This Bike My Next Bike". After watching this video I'm sure that you can see just how much I appreciated the bike and the new "Sherpa" engine putting out a very impressive 42BHP...

Hi Ian, thanks for your comment. They're a great dealership and that's why they deserve our support.
Great video Noel. it was nice to see Martin featured explaining the history of Hatfields in the village. As a boy growing up in Crowthorne, I can remember walking past Hatfields on my way to and from school. Since then I have bought my current bike from Hatfields and I have always received excellent service. Such a great dealership.
Thanks for your comment Andrew. I agree. Maybe we all need to make RE aware of this 👍. Great idea 👏👏
5 Stars are not enough ! Martin and the team at Hatfields should be dealer of the year every year !
Thanks for your comment Dave. Look forward to seeing you at the next DGR event
Love video great to see some many bikes, would like to come along, on my 1960 triumph thunderbird 6t maybe one day.
Looking at getting the new Bear 650 249 next year.
Thanks for your comment. Some really interesting Bikes coming in 2025
Thanks for your comment Scotty. I loaned that bike from my local RE Dealer and I have to say I had so much fun. As you can see from the Channel title and some of my other videos, I ride a 411 Himalayan. Again without loads of hp but, having riden bikes since around 10yrs old, at the age of 67 I am really loving just touring around. If I need to go far and crunch the motorway miles I put my bike on my trailer behind the car 😂
I rode a Candy Gold mid 70s Honda CB350 for several years when I was in my early to mid 20s. I had so much fun on that bike! I lived in Sacramento California, USA, and had that bike all over the California gold country, up around Lake Tahoe, and even took it up to Yosemite National park. I suspect that it had a bit more pull in the bottom than the RE Classic 350, but about the same top speed. At 59, I am about to get back into motorcycle riding, and will be purchasing a Classic 350 round about March, or April of 2025.
Thanks again for your comment Chris. I hope that you have subscribed to the channel and hit the 🔔 to remind you of all of the new videos that will be coming your way😊 Let me have some details on your Benelli and I'll pass them on to Simon for you because he is definitely in the market for a new bike 👍🎅
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your comments and totally agree, however I would also suggest that any form of "training " and/or assessment of basic riding skills for those new or returning riders is better than nothing 😊
BIKESAFE is not a training course. It is a workshop developed as an introduction to further advanced rider training for interested individuals. A taster if you like. Advanced riding cant be gleaned from a couple of hours of theory and an observed rideout with a mentor. Hours and hours with lots of smileage is needed before being prepared for an advanced test with the likes of the IAM Roadsmart, Rospa and others. Just wanted to give my tuppence worth. Yes. Done it all for many years !
Greetings from Sussex once again. Nice to see more content coming! I wish i'd gone to the show myself, so maybe next year. As you may remember i have a Himmi450 which I love, and my Benelli 702X is up for sale if your friend is interested in buying one. Only selling as it's not getting used enough! Anyway take care and enjoy your rides. Chris
Great idea Noel
Have to correct you, but on the RE stand they had a huge map showing 81 dealers currently
Many "Established" manufacturers, including the Japanese, are having parts, engines and complete bikes made in Asian countries including China, but are clinging to their "premium" pricing in Western markets, even though factory gate prices are but a fraction of Western retail. Otherwise known as greed, it will come, (is coming) back to bite. China will be the repeat of Japan in the early 60s. 20% VAT and 40 or more crated bikes in a container do not equate to double or more the price.
Thanks for your comment Derek. Indeed and those that adapt will survive, Manufacturers & Dealers alike. The price war is in our favor at the moments. It is still sad for the Dealers who are loosing businesses that have been passed down through families and for all the loyal staff who are loosing their livelihoods.
@@meandjimi2024 Agreed, sad for those losing businesses, along with their employees, but why didn't they adapt? Though I'm not a particular fanboy of MotoGB (let's face it, RE fell out with them), it appears at least, that agents of MotoGB ranges and RE dealers are doing not bad at present. Couldn't those folding businesses have changed their allegiances?
The Gap of Dunloe I believe. More horses than my horsepower that day.
Yes indeed, especially from my bike.
Great views and scenery
and that was only part of it.
Mmm. Comparing a roadster to a travel bike? Very different bikes, with different target markets.
Thanks for your comment Martyn. Yes indeed that was the purpose of the video. To see which of the the 2 bikes with the same engine best suited my mate Paul 👍
Liked and subscribed. Slava Ukraine ! 🇺🇦
Thank you for your comment.
Thanks for your comment. Great bikes
Little.little.little missing your 900?
Hi ,great channel. I lived in Reading for ages, and so nice to see a lot of the roads and places I'm familiar with on your rides. I now have a Enfield Himalayan 450 after owning BMW GS for 20 years or more. What a brilliant bike. Quick as I want. Brilliant handling, really perky engine, and after road testing similar bikes (Triumph, KTM, CF Moto, etc) the Enfield was the one that put the biggest smile on my face and still does.
@@chrisperrott5457 Hi Chris, thanks for your comment and kind words about the channel. I obviously agree that the 450 Himalaya is a Great bike and hope that you have loads of fun. I also help to run the RE Riders Club and REOC in the Thames Valley, so drop me a message if you're looking to hook up with us.
@@meandjimi2024 Thanks for your reply. I now live on the sussex coast, but am often up that way visiting.Good luck with the channel.
Great informative video guys, thank you. I have test ridden the Himalayan 452 but the Guerrilla appealed to me more. I found the Himalayan very comfortable and stable at speed, with great handling and reasonable wind protection, too, but I'm more into the naked bike thing. I mostly do rides down to the coast on slower twistie A and B roads so the wind protection isn't a requirement for me and I find the slightly quicker steering, on the Guerrilla, absolutely perfect. I've had my Guerrilla for just over a month now and finally finished running it in today (1250 miles) It's a brilliant little machine with enough get up and go to put a smile on my face 😁 By the way, if I had the money and space, I'd have the Himalayan too. Glad Paul took the plunge with the Himi 👍 Cheer for now, Phil (Somerset)
Thanks for your comment Phil and pleased to hear that you are having fun on the Guerrilla. It is a great little bike with loads of character, grunt and it really handles well, as I suggested in the video. If we all liked the same type/style of bike the manufacturers would have a much easier task and bikes would all be the same and boring. Thanks again and hope that you subscribed to my channel😊
@@meandjimi2024 Yes, variety is certainly the spice of life, unfortunately I like almost everything in the RE line up ....... I'll have to see if Rachel Reeves will give us biker pensioners an extra bonus to satisfy our 2 wheeled desires 🤣😂😁
🤞
Thanks for this, very informative 👍
No problem. Glad that you found it useful 👍
Thank you
Ok
Ideal solution for traveling, thanks for the info 👍
Thanks for your comment Syd. I find it very useful with the Himalayan for longer trips and for when my wife is coming with me.
Thanks for your comment. It looks like they only do a screen for the Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor 😢
Madstad make the only screens worth buying imo. But quite expensive
Thanks for your comment and sorry that I have only noticed that I didn't respond to it earlier.😊
A very comprehensive review. Great video as usual.
@@michaelwright937 thanks again for your comment and kind words of encouragement 😊
Jimi is off to the coast!
@@michaelwright937 thanks for your comment. I used to live in New Milton and Ringwood, so it was great to catch up with people and places that I used to frequent. 😎
Looks like a grand day out on Jimi
@@michaelwright937 it was the first time that I had attended and I really enjoyed it. The best advice that I would give to anyone who might be thinking about attending next year is to get into the food queue early because they get busy 😜😁
Perfect thank you, lovely bike a little beauty, thx to all, stay safe.
Thanks for your comment Chris. It is a fantastic little bike and I had loads of fun riding it on such an amazing event 😀

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed
Thanks for your comment and for subscribing Steve. I have reciprocated. Please would you be so kind as to share with your subscribers to help me to grow my channel. 👍
There’s quite a bit of vibration on the bike through the foot pegs and bars ,enfeild should look at this for sales this might put people off a bit ,but it’s still good value and it dose do what it says on the tin ,it’s got the power now ,you can’t compare it with the 411 it’s a completely different bike people asked for this for years is it for you ,jimmy Australia age 72 still riding my bullet 350 fast enough for an old bugger like me 👍😎
I must admit that I didn't feel the vibration but you are not the first to mention this, however I do believe that it does get much better when the engine settles in.
Great to meet up with you in Killarney last weekend for the Bike Fest
Its 452 not 542😂.❤
Thanks for the comment.
Thanks again for noticing the deliberate mistake. This differentiates my video title to all others 😉😁
You all looked so smart, what a good cause and fun day!
Thanks for your comment and your kind words 😊. It is indeed a great cause 👍
The colour of the little classic 350 is Halcyon Grey.
Thanks for your comment Derek👍 I'll take your word for the name of the colour of that great little bike. All I know for certain is that I had a load of fun on it 😅
glad that you are loving it.
Thanks for your comment 👍
Wonderful footage. I am the proud owner of a vintage Yamaha RD 350 LT and would've loved to be there riding with you gentlemen.
Thanks for your comment. It was a fantastic day. Register on their website and that'll keep you posted for next year's event. I will certainly be there. It's all for a great cause. Oh and that's a lovely bike you have 👍
DGR 2024 also held on 19th May INDIA(Mizoram)
Thanks for the comment. Yes Sir. I believe that it's held on the 19th May Globally
Pre ordered 2023, road tested April 24.. and didn't like it at all. Vibration made it feel like the 125s I used to ride... cancelled order. Pick up shotgun 650 next week.
Thanks for your comment. I know what you mean Jimmy. It is a lovely engine though. Watch out for my next test ride on something similar to the 450 Himalayan.
Great Video Noel, Thank you for making and posting this. Such a great day and I feel privileged to have been part of it.
Thanks Ian. It was a fantastic day and I'll certainly be booking a place on this ride next
There's something very appealing about simple utilitarian motorcycles and the new Himalayan 450 looks to be a great bike being offered at an amazing price. I now ride a Honda CB500X, but I have happy memories of riding 'thumpy' singles. Cheers.
Thanks again for your comment. It is a great bike with nearly double what I have at the moment on my 411 Himalayan. I will be seriously looking to make the change in about 12 months time once the second hand market has settled down for the 411.
My dad had a form of Parkinson's, therefore I appreciate your vision for the new channel. I have subscribed and will look forward to seeing the channel grow. I live in Devon and one of my favourite rides in your direction is the coastal route to Abbotsbury and the spectacular stretch of road behind Chesil beach.....perhaps we will be able to meet up sometime! I admire your positive attitude and wish you well with the new project. 👍
Thanks for your kind words of encouragement Quentin. I would be interested in taking a ride out in your neck of the woods, so to speak. I haven't been down that way for a while. Drop me a message and we'll see when we can get together. 07824 641269
I like this bike
Thanks for your comment. I am a big fan of this bike too.
I've done bikesafe and as you say Noel it's definitely worth doing
Thanks for your feedback John 😀 Look forward to getting out for a rideout in your part of the country 👍
