It should help the shells open better, and add a little more flavor. But there's many ways to cooking the chestnuts.. you can make also a soup with milk and rice example 😋😋..
ususally chestnuts are sweet. is this sweet? I'm worried the salt would make it bad.
Well, actually the salt don't change the taste, sometimes the chestnuts are sweet, sometimes not so much, depends also about the weather,if it's raining a lot the chestnuts are just a bit less tasteful, also the chestnuts are protected by the skin...🎉
