Cheryl Bowden is the 2012 & 2016 Lady Bass Classic Champion. Cheryl has been featured in USA Today Hunt and Fish Magazine (August 2017 Issue) as well as the USA Today Newspaper. She and Secret York formed the ONLY Women's Professional Bass Fishing tournament trail in 2010.

Guntersville Tournament LBAA June 2024
The Lady Bass Anglers Association tournament on Lake Guntersville is in the books. I had a decent practice and went way down river to fish historical sites from 2012. The conditions were definitely different. In 2012 the entire bite was a top water frog bite. This time, it was all about docks and brim beds. I figured out the brim bed bite late and was not able to adapt to figure out how to specifically target them until too late. While the grass was a big challenge was the invasive eel grass. My Ninja Blade from Precision Outdoors helped cut through that stuff. I did find a small area off shore in practice where I had fish, but it did not pan out during the tournament!

The Lady Bass Anglers Association is on Lake Guntersville, Alabama for the final regular season stop of 2024! The XPS Comeback Shad is a great large swimbait especially if your looking for a kicker fish in a tournament! Four color options. My rig is a 7'0" CarbonLite rod with a 7:5:1 CarbonLite reel wound with Bass Pro Shops XPS 14 lb fluorocarbon. The retrieve speed is critical. The rain gear that I wear is the Bass Pro Shops brand. I chose the pants over the bibs for ease of taking on and off. I stayed dry for the most part. My wrists got a little wet because I did not have them tight enough. They are a little long and I could not tighten the leg bands enough to keep them from dragging. Boots may have helped with that, or being taller which isn't going to happen...lol...
