The Siege of Bukavu - Congo 1967 in Color
After the Congo Crisis had slowly began to draw down when the Simba rebellion was defeated, General Mobutu would become President of the Congo and send the remaining mercenary forces that were still stationed in country home once they were paid. A mercenary by the name of Bob Denard warned another well known mercenary leader Jean Schramme that Mobutu was planning to dissolve the last of mercenary units, which provided the impetus for a plan to restore Tshombe. Only that instead of following that path, Tshombe would be arrested in Algiers where he would die mysteriously.
This incited Schramme to gather the remaining mercenaries left in the Congo along with those loyal to Tshombe would launc...

Rest in Peace Ennio, Long live the King. 1928 - 2020 I wanted to do this edit after having listened to the Revolver Vocal version of the track since it had verses that utilized exclusive instruments I very much loved. After bringing the vocals out from the original track, I combined it to the original vinyl score done by Ennio which is the one you may have heard in the climax of Inglorious Bast...

oh, my, god..
2:38, I like to think at this moment he realized the irony of hiding from death in a coffin.
most of this footage is taken after the beaches were taken, that’s why it doesn’t look like saving private ryan
The people who sat there to record were probably the bravest people there
Why the sound effects that obviously don’t match?
Guys this isnt real
Rest in peace... to the camera 0:03
Mike Ramp
This is the best scene in the movie adaptation of the book. Saddening in that as the war progressed the few survivors relished cooking horse meat.
0:21 the smoke there probably started helping after a while..
people dont realize this is not the first wave of soldiers... journalists and photographers didnt capture the beginning seiges of the beaches maybe after a few hours later
Exactly! It's not going to look like Saving Private Ryan. That movie depicted the first wave. The first soldiers hitting the beach at Omaha described watching almost their entire group wiped out in front of them, dozens of them just dropped. Many of the survivors had to run and wait in cover for the next group so they could keep going forward with support. The first wave was an absolute blood bath. Soldiers are marching forward with relative calm in many of these shots because the force had already moved further inland by that point. Robert Capa supposedly arrived in the 1st wave, so his photos show the initial chaos much better. It's been said that he came later, but either way, his photos show a much more frantic environment. He was too scared to continue, didn't go too far up the beach before turning back. That's how bad it was initially, so you can imagine most photo journalists wouldn't have gone in the 1st wave.
Oh. I really looked up this clip for a long time. Nice movie

This was a training video done in England for practice. No machine gun fire on the water
no
This movie would scare a person twice my age,but I guess the best feature of a movie is immersion
The greatest generation that ever lived.
Has a cursed nightmare look with color
Literally children.
Also this isn't Normandy it was training in England, you could literally see no bunkers or fortification not even a machine fires it was exercise for actual Normandy, real footage were lost
most bunkers were heavily camouflaged there were no big bunkers like you see in movies and video games
I thought this was gonna be like guns blazing and soldiers hiding behind anti-personnel carrier, and just blood literally every where
Schumm Ports
Not real footage...

I think World War One was the closest man has ever gotten to experiencing Hell on Earth
I heard a quote from a soldier that encapsulates this great. “We went out there as boys,we came back as pits, emptier than any hole in the ground, our only defining feature was fancier clothes”
People who came to this video to see American troops die there’s something wrong with you
I'm so sorry and grateful for all those people ... more sorry than grateful 😔
i cant believe my great granddad survived this at all what a beast i never got to meet him he died right before i was born
dang
It doesn't seem as intense as video games make it seem
they were on the beach for over 6 hours, trust me it was intense
The bravest men to ever exist
I don’t understand how they’re able to get off the landing crafts and wade through the water without getting hit. And the MG42 was FAST and powerful. They might have landed later on the beach or sum idk
cause unlike the movies and games would have you think, the Germans aren't right there on the beach, they are way up on the cliffs in the background
@@BXRDIGITAL2.0 oh, well yeah. That would explain why it took a full hour-hour and a half to take the beach
@@DarkRanger-tj9tm no it took way more time like 3-6 hours plus
Seeing them just fall to their death feels haunting . I don’t think I saw one die in video I think he just fell in the water or something but either way even seeing one man fall to his death by real life footage is haunting
These men gave their tomorrow's for our today. Thank you for your sacrifice. 79 years later we still remember.
Outstanding!
so it's not how i thought it was, when they got out of the boats, the machine guns weren't blasting them
that happened in some places, just not in this exact spot and not to every landing craft
Omaha beach was hell , literally like in the movie. There's no footage of this , some sources say that there were no survivors first wave.
i like how on video games everyone is dying, but in real life, not as many people died
2,501 Americans died on d day, that's alot to lose in a day
@@BXRDIGITAL2.0 yes but video games make it seem like everyone died but only 9% were even injured
the sector where many soldiers died was Omaha Beach, there was no time to film, it was literally a meat grinder like a Private Ryan movie. This was the first wave of landings, which was met by machine-gun rain; some sources say that no one survived the first wave. Movie and game scenes were reproduced from the words of veterans.
@@AlextimeArchive not fully true. now it is true that most people in some areas died in the first wave especially at dog green sector where 90 something % casualty's were recorded. now you say it was like SPR it wasn't. now in some places like fox sector people did get shot down in there boats. in areas like dog green sector the Americans were not even shot at until they had already left their boats and moved up the beach. that's why dog green was so deadly they let them group up then obliterated them at close-ish ranges. also most deaths on Omaha beach were not due to machinegun fire but artillery such as 88s and howitzers and even anti tank guns which they had dedicated bunkers for like wn72 and wn65 machineguns were more of a noise that occasionally picked off men except for some small accounts were bad things happened. this was mostly do to the fact that the beach was long af and machineguns aren't very accurate, especially the mg42 and mg34 which also, the mg42 only made up around half of the machineguns. also Omaha was not a sector it was a beach.
God these guys had pure hell to deal with..
This is fake
its not
no
Where is the sound
cameras back then didn't have sound, only very few audio recording from ww2 that are real exist
Movies: When they get off the boat the die Reality: They Get on the beach for like an hour
they were on the beaches from 0730 to around 0900, by the afternoon the beaches were secured and the fighting was inland
Its hard to believe that unfortunately most of these men and veterans are no longer with us today
the reason this is the only footage we see is because most of the footage from d-day was dropped into the ocean on accident
good job jerry
May god save those who never left that beach.
Did you join military at that time? You're already dead man. But it's better to try to fighting than nothing.
Lol walk in the park
Compared to the eastern front this is a vacation
@@chillout8320 weird. Some had it very bad that day . I wonder they they even landed at Omaha they shoud've diverted
It’s amazing footage, they should’ve kept the audio of the actual video That itself would’ve made it more realistic
