The conversation begins with a discussion on a recent study that claims selling 2/3 pints of beer instead of full pints could potentially reduce overall alcohol consumption. While this may sound effective for social or “normal” drinkers, we dive into why this approach wouldn’t necessarily work for those struggling with alcoholism, who might simply compensate by drinking more of these smaller servings.
From there, we tackle the core question of the episode: Is being "ready" a requirement for getting sober? Often, people...

Great episode!!!.Thank you, thank you,❤🤘
Morning, once again watching you, and learning from both of you. I'm greatful for people like you. Thanks Tom.❤ 🤘Thanks Ben.❤🤘
LEAVE THEM TO THEIR OWN DEMISE, UNFORTUNATELY 😔
Daycare worker?
Great episode! I love Mind Pump. I am 56 years old, and the key for me is lifting, eating protein and veggies, and most importantly, being happy with myself. I'm working out toward taking care of my 60s, 70s, and beyond. ❤
Hi, I have a? I had been 18 months clean. And something it's bothering What you think about toothpaste.Itt thrue that we can't use certain brands I'm using crest.thanks for your help.Hugs and Love❤
@@MarioBarajas-d5k Most toothpaste does not contain alcohol. Toothpaste typically contains ingredients like fluoride, abrasives, detergents, flavorings, and humectants to keep it moist, but not alcohol. However, a few specialty products might include small amounts of alcohol as a preservative or solvent, so it's always a good idea to check the ingredient list if you're avoiding alcohol entirely.
@RealRecoveryTalk. Thank, you so much, that brings me peace of mind❤️
The crazy part to me is that everyone in AA says its about the disease and all of it's behaviors, not just alcohol specifically, and then turn around and say dumb s*** like that
Thank you for the feedback very insightful. ❤
You are so welcome!
I learn a lot from you Ben every time and every podcast you make my f...... Head go click, click Thank you❤
I really like the way you introduced the episode that make me stay tune thank you Tom❤
Thank you!!¡!¡
I just started dating a meth addict. He already stolen from me, eating all my food, lying to me… I have struggled with alcohol addiction in the past so there is a part of me that is understanding but I don’t have the strength to leave 😢 even though I know I should.
It's been 20 minutes of this episode and I have to let you know that this episode it's fire like Ben said ❤
I love you guys, real, raw and responsible!! Keep Rocking Sobriety! ❤
I was there it sound great..🎉❤
Hi everyone.. Im loving the live stream...❤🎉
You three make me laugh! Excellent information though!!! ❤😂
We had fun! lol
I was needing that thank you!!!!!
My man Mr.Warren!
Truly one of the most transparent guy I know! Great episode! Thanks guys!
Great topic I dont believe I have to be religious to build my relationship with my higher power GOD !!!!
what do you do when you really love them and know the “real” them… but you don’t know what’s real anymore.. and their behavior is completely inconsistent. Present and genuine in the morning but manipulative and cruel in the evening…?
@@cg6267 you love them from afar and kill them up close- meaning you have to set firm boundaries with your loved one so they cannot manipulate you. You help yourself but going to al anon meetings, private therapy, or even group therapy to develop a support system for yourself. Do not lose your sense of self in order to help them you have to help yourself
You guys are more than just a meeting!!!Thank you .🤘
May sound super simple but hygiene routine added in there and exercise is super important as well
Bro don't speak about diabetes if you don't know what you're talking about
I’ve been to thousands of 12 step recovery meetings. I was once a homeless heroin addict. Now I’m working on a master’s degree and I work in behavioral health. I smoke pot at night before bed. I have no anxiety. No depression. No OCD. I sleep. My digestive issues aren’t governing my life anymore. The people in the meetings did absolutely nothing for me. I did this myself. God spared my life and I took action. Your guys’ book even talks about God reliance. No human power could have relieved me of my obsession to use. So why do I need the fellowship if I can just go straight to the source? 12 step doesn’t work for everyone.
Thank you for your content ❤ This was a good episode on health and starting healthy habits. I love mind pump and you guys did a great job.
Good advice also bad advice. Don’t rush a sponsor. Make certain to talk, but be very picky when asking.
I’m guilty of being lazy when it’s time to go to meetings or do the work. I’m glad this was brought up
Hi, I Just got out from prison, and I want to thank you guys Tom, Ben and Dr T for the podcast, it was and it's great listening to you!!!
@@MarioBarajas-d5k thank you for your support🙏! Don’t stop listening and keep up to good work !
My "alternative" to alcohol is monster energy lol I don't drink it all the time, but I enjoy them most when I go for scooter rides or sometimes before work. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I love my monster. I slam them 😂
This is a profound truth of God's love. Humble and surrendered. . The Best Podcast so far! What the book?
I think we can recover and still use marijuana in moderation, for those whose DOC isnt marijuana. Everyone is different and ive met many addicts who pick up keychains and are still using nicotine either by smoking or vaping
Thanks for the comment!! Appreciate the support!!
Huge fan.....just a few things...Kratom is not an opioid, it does act on your receptors, it is 120x less strong than morphine, it uses alkoids to give energy but is not...I repeat no even close to the effects of an opiod....I lost mobility in Iraq to my arm and pain in my back went to using kratom, it saved my life from using pain killers. Thank you for everything yall do, here from Texas much love
Thanks for the comment and for you duty to our country 🙏
Heard you say this in a video yesterday and i couldnt agree more. Fentanyl has destroyed my body and since getting clean ( 113 days) ive decided to be responsible for the body ive been giving hell the past year. I feel so much better and i look better, so i do better.
Hell yea!!! Keep it up!!!
Hey, been watching your content since yesterday. I am in love. Keep up the good work! Everytime my current home group goes into total church mode ( a bunch of new folks who are excited about their relationship with their lord and savior and they end up holding the meeting hostage with Bible stuff for almost the whole meeting. Talking about the devil as if someone's higher power can't be the devil ...basic disrespect for other religions) So Everytime this happens I just leave and put in some of your stuff. Keeps me in the focus. Maybe you have some answers for this? Should I try to just accept something that is pushing me away from the group, find a new group, or make an announcement about the religious stuff? I'm not anti religious...exactly, but Im not there to hear Bible verses and go to church. I'm afraid this will end up making me the black sheep and become shunned from the group...I like it here but these new folks are kinda making it difficult to stay.
We are going to record an episode on this!! Thanks for the idea!!!
It actually worked for me. It was super nice to pick a scene to meditate in. I think its more self care focused snd i get diwn eith that especially if youre antisocial like me. I struggle with certain meetings because recently its been devolving into "JESUS CHRIST IS MY LIRD AND SAVIOR AND IF YOU DONT BELIEV YOURE GOING TO HELL!" and i have left early the past three days because of this. I think ill surf the web for a zoom meeting and try those out. Virtual reality is super helpful. Theres lessons and shit we can pick for different topics and we can watxh them while sitting on a couch in a lovely room...the VR thing i went to for study was awesome. But virtual meetings have definitely helped me. Also side note. Maybe try getting some sober celebrities on? Im sure there will be some people who are willing to sit down for a little while and speak. I just heard you guys are in southern Florida and theres hella people there. You guys are doing good imo.
Thank you 🙏 and if you know any celebrities send them our way!!
This also works for dating women in general
Hahaha thanks for the comment
It seems by the comments it's only men that are the problem 😂
Men can be buttheads 😀
I walked away from my best friend of 10 years, one year ago this month. I got tired of being her mental and emotional punching bag, all the drama, hearing she cheated on her gf and the constant worry she was going to hurt herself or others by her reckless, irresponsible behavior. I broke up verbal fights before they went physical on two separate occasions. I still love and miss her, but my own mental health is all the better. It’s hard to stop enabling an addict but it is a MUST! AL-ANON and watching utube videos like this can be so valuable! She went to rehab 3 times. The last was almost 2 years ago. She paid $4,000 out of pocket and had another excuse for why she left the next day. Inside, I was livid but was still trying to be hopeful, positive and supportive. However, it also did something to me and it was the start of the end because as soon as she got back home, she returned to her usual drinking. One day, she wanted to meet for dinner and I said I couldn’t go, but I’d take a rain check. She then left a string of nasty calls and text messages a few days, even saying she wasn’t drunk this time. I ignored them (to this day I never read them all). I’m still in contact with her gf, but not my former bestie. Do what you need to to protect yourself. It’s not being selfish or doesn’t mean you don’t love them, but you MUST love yourself first or they’ll drag you down right along with them!
How many milligrams per day suboxone is you on ?
0 my friend!!
They dont give 2 mg to people that has never tastet it before
You have nedver been sick a figuerd that out from my swlv
Beacouse xanax help against pannick attack....and a have it
This is so awesome to see! My treatment recovery journey began at Boca with Nikki, and I was fortunate to complete that phase at Rock. I am deeply grateful to have been connected with these two remarkable organizations that have been instrumental in my path to healing.
It felt like a huge betrayal of their trust & when i took those actions it felt like i was taking strategic aim at their demon of addiction. I told their family members who were fooled into believing their lie that they were clean that they were not clean and so do not provide resource, dont give money but take them to buy things. My addicted boyfriend didn't think that was the right thing to do & that i was disloyal to him & he dismissed me when i said that i was just trying to starve that demon to death; not ruin his life. He claimed he couldn't trust me & we eventually broke up. I can't trust him at all, cuz everything he put me thru with his addiction. I ONLY clued them, his family, in because the addiction to crack had gotten so severe and i was afraid for his life. He od perished and was brought back the first time he did fentanyl & it just seems like all hope is lost for every person I've known who went from meth, crack, or heroin to fentanyl. Did i do the right thing by telling his family? I feel like i need to get that really figured out in case I'm in this situation again... because it feels like i lost the relationship because i approached addiction like war and there are no rules, so shared his secret. So I'm really asking. Also i felt bad like i was lying to them just by my God clean Christian self being his girlfriend, cuz that helped maintain the lie that he was clean. But they were witnessing him nodding out & asking me with such pleading if hes ok. If that was the right thing i really wanna be sure.... cuz what it cost me to just maybe get him clean, losing him, i know im gonna want to keep my mouth shut next time.
THATS MY MF SPONSOR!!!! Great episode
That is awesome!!! I see why you chose him!
Everything Kieth said about his upbringing is 100% true. Probably the toughest most resilient person I have ever known. My good friend. I thought I lost him to drugs and could only remember ALL the good times we had growing up in north end of Providence. I can tell you what happens when smart kids get together with no guidance, but few would believe me. Now we are grown, I have never forgotten my brother. I found him in this age of the internet and cried for about a half hour. I love you
Kratom allowed to remain sober when my life fell apart due to unforeseen circumstances straight after 7 months of rehab, a relapse, another month of rehab. Then I discovered kratom and ive been able not to go back to drugs and alcohol even tho I lost everything that counted for. I recovered from those traumatic life events since then, and after a 2.5 years daily use with almost no side effects, i currently use it sporadically when i have the feel for it. And im an addict. So kratom is a lifesaver, the best harm reduction tool there is because it works for every DOC. I was addicted to alcohol , meth, crack, coke, speed and others. But no opiates or opioids, and kratom worked for me. And never i am high on kratom because perception and judement isnt altered. You dont know what youre talking about and you even claim during that vidéo that you dont know what kratom is. Get informed. There s tons of success stories out there.
