I absolutely agree with the final result, but only as LEGO collector's point of view. From children point of view: Come on guys, the original message of LEGO is focusing on children (to improve different skills). Nowadays LEGO is really far from that - and that makes me sad. Hardly any children can afford this enormous sets (not even their parents). Moreover, the Tower of Orthanc was released more than 10 years ago and LEGO get huge experience to create such a fantastic sets (like Rivendell, Barad-Dur) from that time. So I think, creating The tower of Orthanc was bigger challenge in 2014 than building up Barad-Dur in 2024.

Amazing build, very creative play features. That's a great tip about searching up the Lego set numbers. So that jeans we can get any set we want, as long as there are instructions available online somewhere. I wonder if Barad due and Rivendell would be cheaper to buy that way...

1:20 I’d say Gollum is a cooler minifigure than the two hobbits. We’ve never got that specific mold for him. We have got the hobbits from Rivendell though.

That's really cool? Have you tried to use some transparent plates underneath the tiles to have the dead elf dude actually visible from above? I know it would be hard tho since there are not many big transparent plates...

You should rly start to think of (how to?) sharing your designs. Pretty sure that plenty of fans would be willing to pay decent amount of $ for instructions for both Orthanc upgrade or this Balrog. Looking forward to the Barad Dur mate, great job so far

I love all the little camera tricks you did in the video, like running some clips backward to make it look like the parts you dropped were jumping into your hand. And the model's super awesome; that is one wicked balrog, and I especially like how you used the transparent orange parts to make the molten areas pop.
