Well, I wouldn't say children are a setback. Children are a blessing and a gift from God. Sometimes we do have to pause on a few things and make certain sacrifices. For me, having children has helped me appreciate the beauty of life, the beauty in starting over. It reminds me that I can handle certain things and that I am resilient.

I agree. With some pple, there's alot of entitlement that comes in over other people's money. Some people end up blaming their friends/family for not supporting them over their bad financial decisions.

Thank you ladies for sharing. I would say to me, my belief system is not something I would want to have as a negotiable. I like what Sharon said about boundaries. There's just something about a guy who can sense them. Green flag 1. A man who tithes. 2. a person who looks out for your family in a sense of showing concern. When what is going on in your family to a larger extent moves them to find solutions alongside you. It shows his stay in your life goes beyond the two of you...shows he is open to joining a bigger family 3. a man who acknowledges that they aren't the alpha & omega...a man who knows that Christ is the head. A man who shows that they can handle the spiritual responsibility banange❤ 4. A man who has ( a spiritual) authority over them. A circle or person that can hold them accountable. 5. A person who provides as much as he can and one that isn't biased about gender roles in a home. wooosh 😊 We shall add more as and of when we remember.

I learned a long time ago not to do that, and that's from watching a couple 😂. They say learn from other people's mistakes because you won't live long enough to make all the mistakes and recover from it. This couple before getting married, the lady was had working and was taking care of her old mom at the same time able to save 20k plus. Upon getting married, took the money and give to husband. Fast forward, she's still a CNA and the husband has finished his Masters. So every time she starts school, she drops out the following semester. And every time I ask her why she's not going to school, she says NO MONEY to pay for the tuition. How is there NO MONEY FOR YOUR OWN TUITION while your husband has past Masters? Every time it has to do with financial needs for her, there is no money. There's one time her mom was so very sick, and because he didn't want to pay a dime concerning medical bills, he kept the old lady in the house to the point she passed out. So my sister was passing by as usual, and the way she saw the old lady, she rushed her to the hospital. And the husband got really mad at my sister. Bad enough, we found out that they didn't have health insurance for the old lady. Sometimes this lady doesn't even have gas in her car until he buys her gas. Yes, learned from that not to disclose or merge for anything else beside bills, kids, and emergency funds.

I agree with you all, open communication is key although you can also agree to keep your earnings private because I can tell u from experience, its a terrible idea disclosing what u earn to your partner especially for ladies who earn quiet a bit more. Whether the world will agree or not a mans ego will always be hurt if the woman is earning more than him. And in a lot of cases you can have all the open communication needed but the other partner will still decide to do otherwise, open communication is not guarantee that that problem is solved.
