Have a good time. I enjoyed two trips to Hungary. Beautiful country.❤
Be safe
Thank you!!
Safe trip, Peter! ❤
Thank you!! ❤️
Exactly!...sometimes you just have to step away and give your head a chance to reset before moving on and fixing things or leaving them be. I think you need trigger warnings on your videos because when you are ramped up in heavy-duty debating with yourself, it gives me anxiety, even though I know it will have a happy ending. Just don't beat yourself up over stuff. Take care.🙂
Well that's the first time I've heard that 😄! I appreciate your willingness to listen and watch. I try to end on a good note :)
Pricing would be a tough one for me too...torn between the almost perceived arrogance of asking a high "premium" amount and a self-defacing confession of mediocrity in going with a "bargain" price. Top of the line pricing suggests top of the line product & service...are you ready for that? And the anxiety that comes with? Not criticizing, because I have no aptitude in this area...but just throwing some ideas out there. (Or rather, rephrasing what I hear you saying) You must be really excited! Enjoy this time! Take care 🙂
I think you nailed it. What a fun balancing act 🤪 Thank you for watching!
You are CEO, Director of Marketing, Lead accountant, and the janitor. 🍀
Hey SOMEBODY's gotta do the dirty work 🤷♂️
Very exciting, Peter!!
Thank you!! 🎉🎉
Let’s hear it for Family. And family who are Friends. 🎉
My friend used to say "When you have PAIN you know you are alive." I am glad your ankle is feeling better.❤
So true!! Thank you, feeling way better now, I feel very lucky!
Oof Peter! I wish you a quick recovery 👍
Thank you Alex! I appreciate you
Sometimes, you make me nervous! Please take care of yourself.
😅 Tryin' my best. Thank you!
Kakakkk funny. Thanks for the advice
What makes your videos so watchable (IMO) is that they are such a real reflection of life. Realistically, life brings stressed out phases, boring phases, and unpredictability. If the videos were highly edited to only include success upon success and sunshine & roses every day, they would lose authenticity & frankly become tedious to watch. If the purpose is to give "future you" a glimpse of your path, they must include down times and days when times are tough and your brain is "mush". Hang in there man. It's all coming together.
I appreciate this a lot, thank you for reminding me of this, it's so true. It never feels as exciting to share in the moment but it's the truth and that's what matters.
As a local, thank you for sharing your map! I've been to the Corvus in the DTC area, and your takes apply to that one too. _Gorgeous_ interior, but a little fancy-pants when it comes to price.
Amazing! Thanks for watching Kylie! There are so many good coffee shops around Denver, I keep adding to my map. Let me know if you ever need some other recs!
Hello peter🙏🏻❤✋💯👍
I am smiling for you, happy that you got your project completed. RE: Your re-entry to society....think twice before you do it, it's over-rated!! Be safe!
Thank you! And 😂
What a great lesson. For all of us!
When I have camped in the past, I want NO people around....but then it gets dark & some random vehicle will show up & just sit there & creep me out & I suddenly want people around!
😂 Haha I know exactly what you mean. The 'ol paradox of camping
Those are some great views! Great video 👍
Alex!! Thanks for watching man, I hope you're doing well!
Strive for saturation. I love that, Peter.
Thank you! ❤️💯
Another thought...If it were easy and enjoyable to develop your product, it is not likely that many people would pay for it.
Yes! That's my hope
So relatable. I’ve been at a low for awhile now with over 40 hours working customer service and part time student with a few other obligations like treatment and working out. It’s so exhausting I started skipping classes to avoid talking to people.
I hear you, keep doing the best that you can! Thank you for watching, I appreciate it
Young man, I have never felt more "in tune" with you than today, when you feel an energy drain, lose your train of thought mid-sentence, and can't remember what day you did what😉.... For me, it is just old age! For you, it's time to get some sleep! I agree though, keep pushing and get it done, then take a day or two off to recharge back to your norm. I do like your title...I may adapt it to become my new mantra.."The work doesn't care that you're old!" Take care & get some rest!
😂😂😂 Hahaha oh that's great I'm glad we can relate! Feel free to swipe it! Thanks for watching!
Why not find discomfort in studying for a final exam, raising a family, starting a homestead, and starting a business. It just seems so easy to sit in a van at different places. But the discomfort of thinking about where next.
Exactly why I've been on this journey building a software business! I wouldn't say this life is easy but if it comes off like that then I'll take it as a compliment! Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts!
OH that's easy. Loneliness
Very true...
Another one of your plot twists!! Love it! Go for it & see what happens 🤷♂
Heh! Always keepin' ya on your toes. Thank you for your support!
Dude has zero comments on his last 20’videos…I mean someone comment ..this shit is sad
😂😂😂 I know right
Full timer here in a van as well. I actually learned that I'd be better off doing work where i get to travel a little bit, but I learned about myself that if I don't have a place I have dominion over - I have the right to be there and can't be told to leave - I'm homeless. And I think everyone else doing van or nomadic life full time (legit full time, not people that have youtube channels and home base at their elderly parents house once a month) is also homeless. Also, quality of sleep even in great temperatures is less than ideal because its not good sleep. That adds up over time. Combine that with all the decisions of having to figure out where to sleep, having to sleep around the flow of traffic, privacy etc. it is unhealthy for your body. You can grow, uncomfortably, without having to figure out where to sleep every night
Josh thank you for watching and leaving your thoughts! It's great to connect with you. You clearly have experience and make great points. What I would say in response is that types of people who live on the road varies a lot. One person may make an choice to travel full-time out of abundance, another may not have the choice. I wouldn't say merely the fact that someone resides in a physical location says anything about their worth, i.e. "homeless" could be read as "simply doesn't own/rent a house." I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the toll that living on the road can take on the body. Personally this is something I am and try to be very conscious of, getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and spending time outside and getting sunlight. Living on the road isn't without its drawbacks, but at the end of the day, everyone needs to find something that works for them and their goals. Cheers!
@@petermeglis your levelheadedness is refreshing. I apologize for being crass. Cheers man!!
Your video title gave me a scare. I thought you were suddenly fed up & packing it in! Glad I was mistaken. If I were to make this type of video in my old man world, it would be very opposite of yours...mine might be, "Knowing how to get started" 😉 Take care!
Heh, I won't say I didn't think about that 😉 Gotta keep you guys on your toes a bit ya know
I think this is one of your best talks because it answers many questions I have had. I can tell you it would not be for me! I could write paragraphs detailing the reasons (but I won't!). For me, basically it would come down to anxiety issues . I have always gotten the impression that you are traveling without a companion. Does solitude/loneliness ever become an issue for you? Thanks, as always! Be safe!
It's definitely not for everyone, I would believe you! I'd say that it's never become "an issue" for me. That doesn't mean that I'm in some way against socializing, but I've just gotten pretty good at learning about myself, keeping myself busy, and appreciating it when it does come. There may be more chapters in the future where socializing plays a bigger role, but it's just not a priority for this one. I've just learned to adapt.
You’re selling Van Life pretty hard… I’m sure a lot of us are listening.
Heh 😄 I wouldn't say it's too intentional. I'm just as amazed!
Earlier is better for anything for which you need to have mental engagement. As a band teacher, for some reason I would find HS Band being scheduled either 1st period, or last period. (I think it was to allow for extended practice either before or after school). The years I had 1st period were always much better groups and much easier to teach, even though it might be basically the same kids.
Ahh interesting, I believe it! Everyone is toast and ready to go home at the end of the day 😄
Love your kitchen hack - doing dishes as you go - it makes a huge difference when you’re tired at the end of the meal. Most likely applies to just about everything. Thanks!
100%! Easier to do in the moment and helps at the end of the meal. ❤️
Not the same thing I know, but your scenario reminds me of myself when I am on a self-induced strict diet regimen. I KNOW that a minor slip up now & then will not have measurable impact on the goal, but I also know that if I start letting myself get away with "cheating" on my parameters, I will, in no time, be back where I started with poor eating habits. SO, as much as I want to say, "Dude, chill..it's not a big deal", I actually get where you are coming from. I also do my dishes as I go...can't stand a mess waiting for me! Thanks as always for sharing. Your daily narratives have become one of my favorite parts of youtube. However, before you let that go to your head, remember that I am a very eccentric old man 🤷♂😂
Thank you for sharing, I resonate with that mindset. I'd rather nip it in the bud early! Haha oh that's wonderful to hear 😄. Happy to share!
Just discovered this channel, it's very cool. Keep living your life, this helped relieve my concerns about my future a bit. That there's a lot of ways to go. 🩵
Thank you! I appreciate your encouragement and I'm glad to hear that I could help relieve your concerns. I agree! You can do it!
It is lovely to see you just feeling happy, grateful and at peace 🙂 For once, I have none of my "old man wisdom" to impart. You have earned this. Enjoy!
Haha! Thank you!! 😄
I fully understand that this chat wasn't based on something big & dramatic, but in the event that you at some point run into something overwhelming, I hope you have someone in "real life" to talk to so that the thoughts racing in your head don't cause anxiety. When I was in my mid-20's, I had this plan in which I would buy a small, isolated acreage and live off the land by myself. I had most of the particulars worked out, except refrigeration🤔. My brothers made fun of me & called it my "hermit fantasy" 🙂. My point being, that I think we all from time to time get tired of adding more "spinning plates". If it's any consolation, when you get old, (about 40 years down the road for you) things do start to let up 🤷♂. In hindsight, I probably chose correctly to remain in civilization, because I am far too lazy to do all that would be required to stay alive on my own! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and allowing me to ramble 😊 Stay safe.
Yes! I appreciate you thinking about me. What a story! I gather that many people have those dreams, I'd be curious to know how many actually end up enjoying all that it takes for a life like that. Glad to hear that there's an end to the madness at some point :)
Interesting.. If and when I start driving I plan on creating apps using the A.I. programs Claude, Perplexity, and v0 by Vercel. I'm not a coder but I am a graphic and AR/VR developer so I'll have to go with those and hope they improve vastly in the next few years. I also plan on creating VR/AR learning environments for museums and other educational institutions and I am working on a prototype now using Unity. Since I will probably never choose to be home while OTR I can use whatever down time I have in the sleeper to create. I find that I get my most creative ideas while driving so maybe that will help as well.
Wow this is great! Keep it up! Driving definitely gives us a lot of time to think. Best of luck with starting your driving career and with the apps!
I'm new to your channel. I'm a CDL owner but haven't started driving yet and my biggest concern is getting enough sleep. It seems like if you have to have a 10 break per day there should be enough time to get 8 hours, or is there something I don't know about?
Hey thanks for stopping by and watching! I do a lot of driving, but I don't know one bit about commercial driving unfortunately. I would hope you can still get 8 hours!
I am happy to hear of your experience, I always hope that is the experience when we travel anywhere. I do find it interesting that you are in Wyoming for your endorsement. Well if you make it to Jackson Hole, you will see a lot more Van life people. Where are you hoping to end up after your Van life? Since you brought it up I will ask, why do you have South Dakota plates and address, did you really relocate or is it just the cost? As far as a shift, we learn what we are taught, and we teach what we learn. We do better when we learn better and it's good to remember to just be kind to each other all the time.
Thank you for watching and leaving such a wonderful comment! Jackson Hole is great, I stopped by there a couple years ago. As for what comes after van life, I'm still not quite sure. Probably some mix between long-term traveling and buying a home base somewhere! I moved my residency to South Dakota because they are friendly to full-time travelers! They allow full-time travelers to gain residency in the state and have some other favorable advantages. I love your last line. Learning better and being kind to one another!
A couple of thoughts...1) If they are both virtually equal options, you really can't make a mistake, no matter which one you pick. 2) I can almost guarantee that this will make no difference to 80 y/o Peter...the only things that will matter to him are big earth-shattering decisions/events over the course of life. Regarding this, (if he remembers it at all,) he might say, "I can't believe I stressed over that!" Take care!
I worried throughout yesterday that this comment seemed almost unkind and dismissive of your concerns. It was not meant in that spirit. I was just sharing some input based on a lifetime of having anxiety over decisions. You are doing great, man!
Thank you! I appreciate your worries but don't see your comment as dismissive, I think it's 100% fair and sometimes we need an outside perspective to help us see the larger perspective. You make a great point and I agree. I think the decision always feels grander in the moment, which is why zooming out helps... as long as I actually do that perspective shift 😄
I didn't realize you were a musician! I was a trumpet player as well, but switched to Euphonium in HS because my trumpet range was not good. Was a band director for many years, although marching band was not my fav! Congrats on completing the motorcycle course. Take care & be safe,
Oh wow that's wonderful! I played all throughout school but it's tapered off since then. I like the marching a lot more than the playing.
I really like your videos and enjoy them, my listening skills have improved and I have begun to understand what you are saying. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. Keep going.
Interesting discussion. My perspective is somewhat different, but I still agree with and understand much of what you are saying. I grew up in a small town of under 400, so to me 33,000 is not all that small. I always taught in very small towns and had to reconcile that the kind people whose kids i taught (and who treated me well) were the same ones saying horrible things at political rallies and in conjunction with their religious organizations...I am not so noble that I can ignore the hateful things, but I more choose to recognize the good qualities (which are numerous) . And I tend to be one of those who believe that people are inherently good. In society right now, we just seem to have factions determined to repeatedly stir up the ugliest parts of human nature. Good luck completing your motorcycle training!
Very well said, thank you for sharing that perspective. We need more people like you out there seeing the good in eveyone!
Bro, what is the place where you did your VO2max test? btw. great blog article.
