Despite its name, traditional Chinese medicine is not particularly old. It is a modern reinvention spearheaded by Chairman Mao Zedong in the middle of the 20th century. “TCM” does not date back to the 200 BC. That is Classical Chinese Medicine and these two forms of Chinese medicine are vastly different. TCM was created in attempts to “modernize” Chinese medicine for westerners. Unfortunately, it has become glorified western medicine, whereby it said to seek the root, but in all actuality just treat symptoms. Classical Chinese medicine on the other hand is superior in a multitude of ways and incorporates more than the same old basic primary acupuncture channels.
