The Usual Traveller
Португалия
Добавлен 6 сен 2022
I love travelling. I flew on a plane for the first time 25 years ago, completely alone as I went to Germany to study. Since then, whenever I can, I plan a trip and go. No agencies.
I get many travelling ideas from the videos I watch, so I hope I can inspire others with my travels!
Eu adoro viajar!

Thank you for the video. I and my wife plan to attend to that tour. How did you book this Nile Cruise? Which agency?
I booked it with Imperial Egypt, an agency that sells many Nile cruises.
Thank you for the video! We are planning on going there in December. How did you book the car/driver for the duration of your stay in Cairo?
I booked it directly at our hotel. Almost every hotel offers car rental with driver. It cost about 60$ per day but because we only drove in Cairo, so we rent a “normal” car. If we had gone to other places that needed different wheels, it would be more expensive.
Is alcohol included? I'm not drinker but just asking, or is it soft drinks and juices only
Alcohol is included. I’m not a drinker either but I tried some of their signature cocktails!
Will be there 2026 with bells on LOL
waiting for new video

It really is!

Vert useful for me .thx for your sharing
You’re welcome!

Did you see the swimming pool at Auschwitz?
Anne Frank is said to have died of Typhus at Bergan Belsen
Thinking of a 7 night cruise but it's priced at £2000 including flights, not sure if this is too high
Is that a travel agency price? I never book flights + accommodation with agencies. I book them separately by myself.
@@theusualtraveller yeah that's via a travel agent, I'm sure it could be a lot cheaper doing it separately?
It’s cheaper, for sure. It also depends on when you want to go. I booked my trip 6 months before. I paid about 2600€ for flights, 5-days cruise and 3 nights in Cairo for 2 people.
@@theusualtraveller ah ok, yeah I was only booking for late August this year so quite short notice but off season. Finding it hard to get a good deal and sort out flights
@@theusualtraveller did you also find it easy to book entrance to the attractions or is it included in the cruise?
A boat with a pool on the Nile? The mind boggles!
Well, I don’t swim in rivers. I don’t do it in my country either. They hide dangers, especially if you don’t know the area and if there is no surveillance. Many people die every year in my country because of that. So, yes, I prefer cruising the Nile on a boat with a swimming pool.
In literally every school in Europe.
Yes, schools in Portugal have it too. But I meant airports. I’ve travelled to so many and haven’t seen this yet, except in Porto.
I believe it is a standard for each airport to have one.
The Palace of Culture and Science isn't the tallest building in Poland. Varso Tower is the tallest building in the European Union - 310 m. It's a new building in the vicinity of the Warsaw Central Railway Station. This is very close to your hotel.
On the video I mention it “used to be”, not that it is. But thank you for the current information.
Thanks for the video. I'm going to Cairo in 2 weeks. Is King Tut's golden mask still at the old museum?
No, it has already been taken to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Tut’s gallery is not open yet there, unfortunately.
It has become 450$ (same boat: Amwaj) now? But Jan should be the peak season?
It is high season. They may be doing a pre-sale for 2024.
Regarding the Cairo museum, do they have description card placed for each relic displayed?? Also could you please provide the contact details of the cab you booked
Not every piece has got a description, but most of them do. You can easily know what they are and where they came from. I didn’t take a cab, I hired a car and driver at my hotel reception desk. Hotels usually have those contacts. We booked it before traveling directly at the hotel.
Thank you very much, new suscriber😄😄😄
You’re welcome!
Excellent vlog 👌 voice is very sweet 😋
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing such useful information! That ‘ s exactly what we needed!
You’re welcome!
Would you recommend nubian village dinner ? How was your experience
I enjoyed walking around the village but I didn’t eat there, so I can’t tell you about the food. We had some refreshments in a small café which was nice. Just be careful with what you eat and drink outside the hotels and boats. You can easily get sick.
As a Canadian tourist in 1989 I had the thrill of visiting Kamak and Luxor Temples and the Valley of the Kings
What a magnificent civilisation! Did Rome really outdo it..
Yes
New subscribers here. We love that you've been to places we still dream about and that our paths have crossed. We look forward to continuing to watch, and hope you'll stop by our channel too!
I did and subscribed it!! I will keep following your travels!
@@theusualtraveller Thanks so much. We'll see you on video or if our paths ever connect.
This is very historic and amazing! Definitely a mystery , how they carved through rock and made smooth surfaces . The Egyptians are advanced.
My thoughts exactly while I was there! There’s no comparison with today’s world.
Oh lovely very good post 📫 very nice 👌 explained...thnks...
Thank you for your kind words!
And didn't visit the pyramids????
Yes, I did. This video is only about the Nile cruise. It would make it too long to talk about Cairo, but I will!
Truly excellent commentary, very clear .. your English is very good
Thank you! That is very kind of you!
Very interesting video with these attractive tourist destinations!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great day to exploring with your video. Looking you have a wonderful journey to the Angkor Wat Park. I'm very enjoyable to watching your video thanks you so much for your sharing
I loved it! One of my best trips so far!
@@theusualtraveller Angkor wat who built it? Who are the KHOM people? In conclusion, KHOM is the creator of Angkor Wat.with the knowledge of ancient Indian art and engineering With workers from everywhere around the area believe it or not The KHOM people are not Khmer(cambodia). The KHOM people are the ancestors of Siam.(Thai) Ancient stone inscriptions in Burma called the Siamese as KHOM. History of the Khom people They are Thai ancestors. He ordered the construction of Angkor Wat. is the inventor of the Khom script which is adapted from the Indian script
stunningly gorgeous
We sailed the Nile river for 10 days….
We were there two months ago.
Thank you.
I did the same trip in December last year. The weather was perfect and it included a stop at Kom Ombo temple and an excursion to Abu Simbel
What is the name of the cruise ship you were on?
It was the MS Amwaj, they called it the Livingstone.
@@theusualtraveller I'll be on the M/S Nile Dolphin in September 2023.
Some of these boats charge $1,000 a day per person.
That’s true. But there are many affordable options. We just need to choose carefully.
Totally illegal behavior.I hope you realize you still will be punished. Many places would evict you for stealing part of their heritage. To steal a piece of the Valley of the Kings! Karma.
Well, that stone is not heritage. It was literally picked from the side of the road and I asked a guard if I could do it. History is my life. I understand more about the protection of the heritage than many.
@@theusualtraveller Glad you asked for permission. People here warn tourist about how offensive locals find the concept. If every tourist took 1 shell home? The aina is their ancestors. I simply cannot believe how tourism in Egypt has changed since I visited Luxor in 1966. ⭐️
Great video. I am excited to go next Jauary. (hoping for a bit cooler weather)
You will love it, for sure! I went there in August and it was above 40°C but it was fine! Early visits in the morning and pool in the afternoon!
