What happened to the drive review? I had one of these. In fact I had 3 Jags of this type. The dark grey was my second, and the interior was beautiful but it was impossile to keep the glossy black leather clean with all the finger marks and dust showing. Each jag. had brake problems, and you stated that you would explain this, but never did.

Being English, I would love a Jag, especially an XKE. I love the look of the front of the S type. I’m with you on the interior. I’m not a mechanic, so I would worry about keeping it running if anything went kaput. An expat watching in Florida.

Hey, really sorry to bother with this but: I'm gonna make a Jaguar S-Type as an addon (mod) for a very old PC game called Midtown Madness 2 (which is very easy to modify). Would it be okay if I use the recording of the startup sound from the beginning of the video for that addon? The addon would be released 100% for free, non profit, on the internet, and I'd include a link to this video in a readme file attached to it. If you don't want me to (or don't respond) that's absolutely okay with me though, of course 👍 Either way, thanks a lot for making this video!! Clearly the dealership did shoddy work by not reinstalling the door latch correctly. However, your friend needs to learn how to inspect a vehicle better when considering purchasing it. Had they given the car a full and detailed going over before buying it they would have seen the door latch issue and had it addressed by the dealer before buying it.

And they are very unreliable! Beautiful car no doubt, it attracts a lot of attention. But many dealers have problems serving it.

Falling asleep

Looking at an 02' 3.0 V6 Type S with 146k for $3200, will test drive tomorrow. I plan on offering $2500-$2800 depending on test drive and any issues, could be lower if major issues.

I do love my 04 3.0. Lots of work to get it to where it is, but totally worth it. I have an E46 as well, and holy cow the oil leaks. Also had to replace the plastic cooling system. Jag FTW.

You need a real JAG mechanic who knows how to tame a pretty wild animal, and all will be fine, don't go for any old back street nor main dealer mechanic. My Sisters call them Shaguars. the sexiest thing on wheels xx :o)

Sorry, but what you say about the 3.0 liter is not correct. The 4.2 liter engine may be a relatively good strong engine. The 4.0 liter is definitely not a good engine as it requires a lot of maintenance and is not very durable. The 4.2 is better but not as reliable as the 3.0 liter. I've had 2 workshops for years, which I take turns driving my S-type 3.0 to when something needs to be repaired. One mechanic has been repairing exclusively Jaguars for almost 30 years and the other for 50 years. Both say the 3.0 is the best, most durable and low maintenance engine, often lasting over 400,000km if properly maintained. When accelerating from 0 - 100km/h, there is just under a second difference between the 3.0 and the 4.2, and even less with the 4.0. The top speed is 235 km/h for the 3.0 and 250 km/h for the 8 cylinders. So little difference. especially since the 3.0 is about 150 kilos lighter and the 60 hp hardly make a difference. The 3.0 is very powerful, cultivated and has a great V6 sound. So what they say is not correct.

Please stop saying, 'Four point oh' for a four litre, you don't need to add an 'oh' - Just say a 4 litre (or liter) ... and a 4.2 would be a four point two. Also it's called a Jag-you-are ..... not Jag-whaa.

That car was in the wreck

The S Type boot moulding was not amended for the US market. It was designed for UK number plates, and an American alternative was never considered, which is a shame and looks totally wrong.

Shoddy dealership. I just bought an XJ portfolio 3.0ltr supercharged with 16,000 miles on it from a MG dealership in the UK, the car was serviced, MOTd, had a new battery and came with a 12 month full parts and labour warranty. I noticed after I picked it up that the N/S mirror adjust wasn't working properly and the Keys were in poor condition so I rang the dealer they said get it all fixed and they would pay for it. I'm happy and the car is next level.

My wife's car is a 2004 4.2L S-type. I was a bit nervous about owning a Jag, but after 18 years and 124,000 miles, it hasn't had a single issue. Still drives like a British luxury car and has much more power than either of us need!

Your friend should have walked away..I did just purchased a beautiful xf I did get a extra 2 year warranty..for free..and a brand name set of beautiful rugs free and this was from V12 sports cars..and I will definitely go to them again..and a little book from the owner previously who had the car before me and full service history...and all the m.o.ts..plus a spare wheel the same as rest...lovely car better car company really helpful I will go to v12 sports again...

I bought a xf to the same thing I bought my car from Ohio had ship to DC my back passenger door was in a accident it's had to see but u can see it' wasn't report to Carfax anyway when u look at it u see poore paint job call dealer anyway still a beautiful and quick car

Okay, great video. I hope you A)still monitor the comments and B)still have the control module you replaced. My 2007 QP Duo is having a similar issue but with the driver's side door. The issues started when the windows were down (it's hot in Texas) and we got a quick rain shower and water got into the car and subsequently (I suspect) into the control model. You eluded to this in your video that this could possibly happen. I am hoping you still have your old module and would be willing do a video on the disassembly of that module if it can be taken apart. In my car the Drivers window doesn't move (I can hear the buttons clicking) at all and I can only lower the front passenger window but can't raise it from the drivers side. Also, the electronic door latches don't work any more. So before I go tearing into the door (again) and try to bust open the module, I want to know if this is even possible, or should I just order a new module. If the module isn't capable of being opened then a video isn't necessary. Please let me know! THANKS!!!!

I Adore my fab 2000 Style 3.0...British green, cream interior, wood highlights, sun/moon roof and great pickup...it brings me joy during our pandemic when there's so little. I love the soft wrap around you leather seats, the sleek cat look, the retro grill, the Jaguar on the hood and the huge boot... Yeah .it feels royal . So ....everyone who says meh...you get in your all look the same cars . I'll proudly drive my Cat😎♥️🌹
