    Hi, Great video. Is this your Spice Mix? British Mixed Spice This famous British spice blend has been enjoyed in Christmas baking for several centuries Ingredients 1 tablespoon quality ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons ground allspice 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1 teaspoon ground coriander 3/4 teaspoon ground mace Instructions Combine all spices in an airtight glass jar and keep store in a dark cool place for up to several months. Makes about 1/4 cup of Mixed Spice.

      Hi JeannetteShoreland, Thank you for your comment. I usually get my spice guide from the BBC and then adapt it to my taste, and I have to use what ingredients I have on hand. I'm so glad you liked the video. I think I got the recipe for rock cakes from an English youtube channel, I can't think of the name of it at the moment, I'll have to look it up. Many thanks, mate. Cheers 🍻 ah, just looked it up. It's budget cooking UK, If that helps.

      Thanks for the comment juanluispenabaez753, yes I was a bit nervous using it for the first time. There definitely is a technique to learn. It's a lot different than using the cook top in the kitchen. Everything happens so fast. I am getting a little bit more confident with it, but it's been very cold lately, so I'll start using it again when it gets a bit warmer. Cheers mate 🍻

    This works very well with pasta, regardless that's a decent meal. Any soup + any pasta/rice is a good amount of food, better soups make better food, but sod the blah blah blah, it's all about getting the kids fed for me, I do this with bread and butter for 5 coming in at under£4! I can make fantastic chicken soup, but if I can't afford a chicken I do this and I also do this quite a lot camping. Easy and doable on a budget - brilliant!

    Sorry about your wife, really! Give her some real food. Even if you are busy or on a limited budet, this processed stuff is poison; A mixed salad taks no cooking at all. The rice cooker is brilliant because you can cook anything in it. Some chicken or meat that doesn't come in a tin, or under plastic, goes at the bottom and some broccoli or any leafy green vegetable goes in the basket at the top.switch on and that's it.. If you and your famiy don't like these things,well you can have the tinned rubbish..but you are dealing with a poorly person here, and need to understand that food is what keeps us alive and the quality of the food we eat, can make us sick. Fish, Sardines and mackeral and ...salmon (expensive I know) is full of the good fats and Omega 3 which is so good for us. Frozen food is O.K I am a specialist in type 2 diabetes and nutritionist and it is so sad to see, even in serious illness, the patient is still being fed the foods which are not helping at all. If, you realy can't or won't take my advice into consideration, then at least, cut out sugar, those awful vegetable oils, and refined flour out of the diet for her. She needs to want ot get well, also. Go to You Tube. and look at the effects of these foods on the body; Look up dangers of ,sugrr, vegetable oils, carbohydrates, look up what a well balanced diet means. NOT the tic toc cranks, but real doctors and professors who 'probably ' know more than you do.What have you got to lose? Best wishes to you your wife.

    Can I ask your advice please? I’m new to using a wok “properly”. I got a carbon steel wok for my bday. I scrubbed it. Heated it until blue, etc.. My question is, well I like using a steel spatula but it leaves scratches on the surface of the wok. I really don’t want want to use a wooden or silicone one. Is that normal for it to scratch the wok or am I doing something wrong? I’m not even being heavy handed. Maybe it’s because it’s new and need seasoning more in time? Ty😊

    • @redneckhillbilly544
      @redneckhillbilly544 3 месяца назад

      Hi tishatti, yes, it's ok. Is your wok seasoned with oil until it's totally black? You have to wipe it with a very small amount of oil, then reheat it, and you have to do that many times until it turns black, then you will have a non-stick wok. Don't put to much acid in in like tomatoes as it could take the bkack seasoning off that you painstakingly put on. The more you use it, the blacker it will get. Don't use soap to wash it, I just use hot water and a none scratch Scrubber, then dry it off on the wok burner and re oil it, then wipe with a paper towel. Hope that helps, thanks for the comment, mate.
