On a ship that's made of paper, Oh yeah, I will sail the seven seas. Fight a shark with a toothpick, Crawled home to you on my knees. There ain't nothin' baby I wouldn't do, sugar, Oh yeah baby, just to bring you home with me. I would rise up with the devil, Oh yeah, I would breathe smoke and fire. Or say were I on a tightrope, Walk a canyon on a wire. Just to kiss your sweet lips, honey, Oh ye...

Finding the presence of awareness in the dimension of sound: Ngak'chang Rinpoche Commentary by Ngala Nor'dzin Pamo: This inspirational song can be viewed in three ways: 1) as a Sutric dön-pa telling the story of the life and qualities of Padmasambhava as the historical Tantric Buddha; 2) as a Tantric dön-pa, a Lama'i Naljor with Padmasambhava as the Tantric Buddha transmitting his siddhis; 3) a...

    You keep on waiting for a message to tie up the monologue, even as the narrator is constantly getting off track and repeating himself... and eventually he just forgets whatever he was trying to say. A perfect introduction for what you're getting in this silly, great movie

    I think the message is simply that occasionally you find people who actually live like they want to - no work all play and relaxing. Anyone's dream. A "man" in the sense a "true" or "pure" man. Los Angeles is known for its homelessness especially back when this movie was made

    The expression "nothing to change" has deeper meanings than that we are "fine" as we are. Nothing to change is actually quite a lot to change. It might be everything to change as well., which we know to be true at even the physical level (after a certain number of months every cell in our body is new, and the old "me" is physically and literally nowhere to be found).

    Correction! Little Walter is not blowing the Harmonica on this track! All of the liner notes from numerous Muddy Waters LPs and Box set's indicate that a Chicago Blues artist by the name of Big Walter Horton is blowing the Harmonica on this Track. And also is on another track recorded in the same session titled, 40 Days and 40 nights. Little Walter Real name is Marion Walter Jacobs.

    • @supermabel1
      @supermabel1 6 лет назад

      All the liner notes are wrong, then (and based on earlier, incorrect discographies); this is Walter Jacobs, not Walter Horton, as the latest discographies confirm. Recorded 29 June 1956, Chicago, with Otis Spann, piano; Pat Hare, Hubert Sumlin, gtr; Willie Dixon, bass; and Odie Payne, drums.

      I love the harp of both Walters [although I prefer Walter Horton's more melodic style - by a small margin], but their styles are quite different and this is most definitely Little Walter, whatever sleeve notes might say. Some sleeve notes on cobbled-together and/or pirate albums can't even get the names of the songs right or in the correct order.

      Wrong brother. It’s Little Walter. You can tell by the tone changes that he’s done with his hand cupping around the mic and the various licks. Thanks song was quite late in the Walter Jacobs period with Muddy Waters. One of his best pieces with Muddy I think. Killer tone, timing and solo.

      Michael Mireles : yes. And they're all wrong, they all quote from the same incorrect sources. Walter Horton was great but this isn't him. Indeed, Horton only played on one Muddy session, in 1953. And the poor attention to detail in Universal/Chess reissues is a pet peeve of mine as there's so much of it

    Your sole to the devil? Maybe you mean soul; actually, I'm sure that you mean soul. But there is no devil, so no problem. Meanwhile, here's one of the greatest Blues records ever cut. Fantastic performances by Muddy on vocals and Little Walter on harmonica at his inspired best; that solo is incredible. Please don't anyone out there tell us it's Walter Horton. With deep respect to him, it is most definitely Walter Jacobs. Thanks to therealsergio for posting this.
