That's very helpful. I'm still working through the alphabet, but using a decoder and qrz, I've found my little 5W radio to receive signals from over 7000km away. I'd love to start filling my logbook with QSO information, as opposed to just receive.

Great video series, but, I’m a little concerned. Is this REAL CW? I believe a real contact means you’re using your ears, brain and pencil and paper. This program is a crutch - nice to have, but I don’t believe Ops should use it exclusively. Thoughts?

I totally agree. I LOVE CW! It’s fun to send and fun to copy. For me that’s what it’s all about. I rag chew on CW. I don’t want just a name, QTH and RST report. It’s a lot more interesting to get to know a little about the people I contact. Using a crutch would take a lot of the fun out of it and really slow down a person’s code copying ability. JMHO

I had to delete and re-upload the video to correct the mistake I made that resulted in such a small image. Please re-enter any comments you have about this video and the "Your first CW QSO" series in general.

Great info, I feel like I'm on the verge of being confident enough to get on the air and this really helps. No use comparing my current level to the CW contestants, but get on the air and let that fuel the learning further.
