The poster is the extra content for the standard variant. The collector's variant has all of the other goodies the standard version doesn't come with. It's what makes each variant unique in their own way. Marketing wise, it's a very effective strategy to generate sales, as the consumer is likely to feel encouraged to buy a copy of both a standard edition and a collector's edition to have a complete collection.
