    The video you uploaded is very helpful. Are you still using Zotero 6? When I upgraded to Zotero 7, zotfile stopped working. I think the version of zotfile that is compatible with Zotero 7 has not been released yet. Am I right?

    The Zotfile plugin described here works with the current Zotero v6. But it is not being upgraded for compatibility with Zotero v7, currently in beta. There are alternative plugins that will supply core Zotfile functionality under Zotero v7 (see Zotero Forums for options), but NOT the Send to Tablet function shown here. A Zotero mobile app is now available. But it requires that you use Zotero's own online storage (300 mb free) to access your stored PDFs from within that Zotero app.

      Yes! To all of these comments. I'm eagerly awaiting the final release version of Zotero 7 to see all the changes that are being made an incorporated. The discussion forums are quite useful on these topics.

    The tablet is hardware. Which software do you use on the Tablet to read and annotate PDFs? Does ZotFile support all software or just some?

    • @cacemlis
      @cacemlis 6 месяцев назад

      I've seen a few videos where a few different PDF readers are used. It's really a matter of working out where your tablet is storing the PDFs it's reading.

    So - having say selected the Zotfile storage location, to be your local hard drive, and you have a hundred plus pdfs with various mark ups. So now I want o reclaim the space - and relocate the Zotero storage to say Dropbox. So do I have to rebuild or can I just create a space for Zot on Dropbox, and move the existing pdfs and structure.

    • @timbushell8640

      And I take form the vid - that your tablet copy is a single folder - and you rely on Zotero to return it to the correct "collection"... Any linkages to Zotero from Research Rabbit?

    • @UManitobaLibraries
      @UManitobaLibraries Год назад

      @@timbushell8640 Hi Tim, I'm afraid to say the actual librarian who did this presentation is not involved in monitoring the RUclips account, and unfortunately I'm not nearly as well versed in Zotero as she is - it is probably best to reach out to her directly, her contact info can be found here: libguides.lib.umanitoba.ca/carolcooke . In case it is of any interest, we also have a fairly detailed help guide for Zotero, which includes contact info for another librarian who is experienced in it's use: libguides.lib.umanitoba.ca/citationmanagers/zotero

    • @cacemlis
      @cacemlis Год назад

      @@timbushell8640 Yes, my tablet has only a single folder for the Zotero files. I think Zotero needs it this single folder for this feature. Yes, Zotero does return the annotated PDF to the correct "collection" once I'm done. As for Research Rabbit.... GOOD QUESTION. I'm an admitted novice to Research Rabbit but I know just enough about database design to do some testing. I created a Research Rabbit account. Connected Zotero. Connected a particular "collection" of citations from Zotero to Research Rabbit and then located three new papers (so excited) and added them to my Research Rabbit collection. Sync'd it to my Zotero collection and had two papers not pull in the PDF and one paper pull in the PDF. Zotero and Zotfile grabbed the pdf and promptly renamed it and sent it off to my cloud drive. The two papers that did not have PDF's downloaded ... I used Zotero and the setting connected to the UM Libraries to download the other PDFs to the same effect. So.... in answer to your question ... once you have set up Zotero and Zotfile and sent your PDFs to your new dropbox folder the links you have into Research Rabbit should not be affected. Thanks for the opportunity to explore this cool tool! (I'm going off to read now).

    Very helpful. Thank you. Only comment is that if you are a Windows user, you must use the '\' for the instruction at timestamp 20:38. The '/' is for iOS users. This is mentioned if you hover over the (i) icon next to the entry site.

    I do believe that Scopus does actually use lemmatization now where it will recognise singular, plural and adjective forms of a root word without having to add an asterisk or retype the other format. Can anyone confirm this? I have found this to be the case in mt searches recently.
