Avaya - Sleep (I Wonder When)
For the past year, I've struggled to find any words to say. I've reposted other people's thoughts and feelings but couldn't find it in me to post my own. I'd write song after song, but none of them could encompass the scale of it all. They all just sounded sad or bitter. I wasn't sleeping.
I finally managed to write something that helped me rather than hurt - I procrastinated sharing it because it meant sitting down, performing it, and talking about it.
I wondered what would I be willing to share?
So I thought I might just share a memory.
It was Simchat Torah, my newborn baby and I were getting ready for synagogue. Simchat Torah is one of my favorite holidays - children on their parents' sho...

Their (our) families fled Tsarist Russia during the 1850s-1890s. Many went to the area of Israel. My branch settled in London, Glasgow, Akron, and Chicago. Some went to Iron River, Michigan, but moved to Chicago by 1920. My mother was to Israel in the 1950s and 60s.
