Afrikindness is a non-profit public-benefit organization with the primary aim of promoting acts of kindness amongst children and young adults, igniting a desire in them to make a positive impact in their communities.
Racial diversity is a key factor in our approach to promoting kindness in children. In order to demonstrate the importance of racial diversity in our interactions with each other, we must teach children to acknowledge and celebrate differences while learning to accept them too.
Our kindness campaign brings awareness to lingering issues affecting children and young people. Issues like Identity crisis, low self-esteem, low confidence, bullying, racism, etc. and it looks at bringing to the fore sustainable solutions that would bring lasting impact on children through our Kindness projects, mentoring, educational curriculums, and events.
So join us and lend your voice to our cause by campaigning for kindness to ourselves, to others, to our society, and to Africa at large.

This is not directly relevant to me but I am commenting to signal boost because I believe in the message. Keep doing good work
Thank you greatly for your kind words. We appreciate your support.
Excellent and informative presentation by all the speakers. I thought that I was fairly well informed on EDI, but this area was a blind spot for me. I feel like I need to dive deep into this topic - but at the moment that I have gone from "zero to hero" - Thanks! Its a shame that people/organisations/institutions who need to be educated on this topic do not seem to be embedding the advice/knowledge of the speakers.
Thank you for your great feedback. We are happy that the session and discussion had a great impact. We will keep the awareness going - extending to organizations, schools and the society.

Thinking of mental health from a point of Safety. The question is - As parents - How educated are we in trying to understand these issues, the complexities and how it affects our young people?
Children and young people need a safe space. It takes a lot of courage for children to speak their truth. As parents, you may not or don't necessarily have the answers to all situations or questions from your young people, but it is important that you create that enabling environment for them to speak out - that safe space. Have a SAFE space for young people to talk about their views and ensure to support them in their vulnerability.
Young people may undergo a process of code-switching, navigating between their cultural identity and the expectations of the dominant culture.
Identity crisis may emerge when individuals face conflicting messages about their racial identity or encounter systemic barriers. This can impact self-esteem, mental health, and a sense of belonging.
Identity is not merely a personal concept but it is intricately woven into the broader societal fabric. Children and young people often grapple with understanding their racial identity, seeking to harmonize it with societal expectations and norms.

Understanding the digital landscape and educating children about private information online is paramount. By doing so, we equip them with essential knowledge that links their online actions to real-world consequences. Do you agree? Give us a like and a share.
In today's modern era, children are increasingly immersed in the digital world, where they engage, interact, and play through social media, gadgets, and online games. It's crucial to recognize that the digital realm mirrors the real world, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding private information in both spheres. Just as we prioritize safety in the offline world, we must extend the same caution to the digital global world. In the real world, we instinctively focus on our safety, refraining from sharing unnecessary information with unfamiliar individuals. The digital world magnifies the significance of this practice, as information shared online can swiftly traverse the globe to reach people we may not know personally. How well do you engage children and young people on privacy and online protection? PARENTS
Absolutely agree. That is one conversation every parents should have in this day and age. Wow… thanks for this informative session. Looking forward to the webinar on Friday
Janice Richardson emphasized the importance of parents actively prioritizing the safety of children online. She emphasized the necessity of educating children about the concept of private information, starting at a young age. Do you engage children on what Private Information really means?
What do you do as parents to keep children safe online? Share your tips as we learn together
I check their phones and gadgets all the time 😅 monitoring … even with that the more I look the less I see… the children are way ahead 😂😂 I agree the values and attitude that we get into children and young people will determine their online and offline behavior Children need to learn respect online, privacy and build digital resilience.

African identity through stories, folklore, music, culture, and diverse people. And the proverbs. A reservoir of incredible wisdom held by people who are surrounded by the world's largest natural resources and also the world's most resilient set of people against oppression. Africans play a key role in telling their stories and those stories can be applied in any situation in life. Incredible - Dr Ollie
With a lot of talks about African decoloniality, and indigenization, the questions, or rather the discussions still come to the issue of African persona and what it means to be authentically African. Is it the history, the culture, the traditions, the color of the skin? What can be characterized as an African identity?
I ask again, lovely people, What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear 'Africa' or Africans?
Yes! What comes to mind - Intelligence, Innovation, Joy, Vibrancy, Richness of Culture, Huge diversity (so many countries, dialects, cultures, etc) - Isabella
African identity can be understood as a sense of belonging, pride, and connection to the diverse cultures, traditions, history, and experiences of the people who call Africa their home. It encompasses the shared values, beliefs, customs, and languages that shape the rich tapestry of African societies and contribute to a collective sense of heritage and identity. Do you agree? Please take note of this 'Who calls Africa their home'
