Add a fan to the top of your amp. It will save the amp.
Ahhhchoooo... I just sneezed from all the dust.
You have a short somewhere, either at the pl259 or near the antenna. Put a multimeter on ohms and measure the center conductor to shield.
OVER DRIVING THAT AMP NEEDS A SINGLE FINAL RADIO LIKE A PRESIDNET GOERGE OR 980 OR 148
Hello, great video I didn’t want to ask I just bought this radio and attached an external speaker which is amplified 12 W on my vehicle. I noticed that when I Lower the volume the radio tends to mute itself, unless I raise the Volume Feels like it won’t allow me to Listen if the colume is very low
I've got a FT-950 and a FT-991A with a MFJ-941e tuner, and both radios set at 50w output on HF (FT4/8) show as 90w on the tuner with my HF antenna and a dummy load. Always been that way, and I have no idea why. I wonder if MFJ is in-accurate. I'm glad to know its not just me seeing this weirdness.
Also try adding or subtracting the length of your ladder line. Look on line for balanced line lengths to stay away from
Too bad the DSP settings don’t stay when changing bands. It makes operating the radio a PIA!!
I hate that too.
Yep all looks in order, at ease.
What’s the name of the song ? Sounds a lil like Charlie Parker …
Full Armored Gundam PTSD
Never again a 891, rx audio is not linear at all, even tx is absurd distorted, compared to other brands. Also a hissing audio Output stage, worse than a cb radio.
Philly accent?
Thank you for this ! I did this by accident and my car didn’t want to let me speed even tho I was hitting the gas
Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
What brand amp ? I want to use an old school ham amp on 10 meters using the AnyTone 6666. Any ideas on the connection ? AT6666 has no alc connections or dedicated amp connector ??
You had volume so load I couldn’t hear you. So aggravating that I just stopped watching.
Is that a Delaware accent ? Philly ?
Shouldn’t be connecting the antenna with the radio powered on.
Kind of an old video to comment on but for those who may be searching for a fix to this problem there is an answer. I recently got an IC-2730A and had the same problem. Turns out that any frequency saved in the memory channel position 000 will be treated as a priority channel and the radio will check it for activity every 5 seconds. The other possibility is one of the other saved channels was manually saved as a priority channel in the settings. Hope this helps someone.
Cool custom 4 track! Love the black face plate! I was thinking of doing the same thing to my Teac 80-8! Cheers!
AWESOME!!!💢👌
Nice, the answer to us who don’t have a lot of space for a big box amp.
What if you connect the amplifier to the 70 centimeter ham radio on top of the Anytone AT6666? Will the 70 centimeter signal amplify as well?
I bought a 779-UV last July on Amazon and I can't change the V/M Power ON frequency expansion. The device remains blocked.
Beware the Anytone 779UV UK version 2.34 cannot be opened up whatsoever. I'm sending it back as I want to use it while staying in USA. 4X4 Norfolk CB lied to me said they can be unlocked, that's BS they cannot be they are stuck. No Data Cable & the box had been opened. Bad information caused me to buy a cable & you do not unlock it with a PC. Hate liars who have bought a cheap almost useless lot & lying to sell them. It's going back tomorrow.
Interesting.
I’ve seen the tapes available on Amazon, but they don’t sell the machine. Where can i buy a reel to reel recorder.
I have a Radioddity DB20G. I have repeater channels programmed in through the CPS. If I unlock this feature, will I lose all of my programmed GMRS channels?
Yes. Performing this will reset the radio. I've done it twice to test it. I can't guarantee that all models will do that. Just the one that I own.
@@therealwolfspidertoo Thank you for responding. I don’t have a ham license, so I will just leave it as is. It’s good to know that this radio can be unlocked if I need to in the future. Great video and thanks again!
It is made to be installed on a adjustable mounting bracket.
I have it now. I ordered it from Japan. It's good now.
Exactly the same radio as the Revevis RA25
Then a feature isn’t a mod
I am sending this piece of shit back! This radio is waste of time and $ its the equivalent of a side chick that has daddy issues. As stated, not chirp capable. You cannot import a bank from another radio on the At software. Gmrs and ham get all jacked up as it says "out of frequencies range" (Im not Buying a car and using 1 headlight) note: the power is hard mounted 12 volt cigarette plug, it must be spliced and fused for battery operation. There is zero doubt it works for some. I am not wasting anymore time on this paper weight. It was a great idea but it failed. They could have done much much better by mimicking the 778uv in programming and operation.
Do you have weather alert on ? Had a similar issue with the id52 take a look at one of the videos I posted
That's a lovely Teac reel-to-reel!
I am not 100% sure but with this radio and its similar brothers you can not adjust the power level (low or high) When the radio is new and locked the Low and High settings are built into the particular GMRS station that you are tuned to. The manual does not show a power level setting?
You can change it to LEGAL power settings. Meaning, you can't set high power or wideband on 8-15. At least in GMRS mode. Matter of fact, I don't even think you can transmit on 8-15 as per the rules for mobile/base station.
My solarcon A99 has flat swrs also, great antenna.
Your video is terrible.
I liked your method of tuning down to broadcast bands to experiment with receive filters.
Yes staart 😂👍🏼
Is there a way to make it so it transmits/receives only on UHF (440 MHz range) only?
At a certain speed (around 40 or so) if you press and hold mode, the cruise option can be activated. Gonna assume the 2022 and 2023 base SEL models are the same.
I have been watching vids on this radio till I'm about tired of watching em and really on the fence of ordering one, I have the ft857d and its got an ssb filter in it and I have to say I love that radio, running the atas 120a as well
For the price, I am extremely happy with mine. Always homebrewed, this is my first entry level modern appliance. Only worked with used older anchors and hybrid txvrs before. If you end up getting one please reply with your thoughts. dit dit
Fantastic radio station 73 from kb2uew
Dude! Clean your radios! They are filthy! I live in a fairly dusty building (about 90 years old) and right on a very busy street, so I get a lot of dust and other particles from the vehicle exhaust collecting on everything. Dusting is a daily job. Once a month, I open up my electronics and use a soft makeup brush and an airbrush compressor, I clean the insides of the equipment so that the collected dust doesn't cause overheating by blocking the cooling vents and the cooling fan (if equipped with one)! The only things that I don't open up are the boxes from the cable company. Never stack radios like that! Heat will be trapped inside the FT-891 and it will overheat! It also blocks the top mounted speaker and causes the receive audio to be degraded! This video was no help at all! The way you jump around without finishing what you are saying and doing is confusing! When you do a short press the Much-Function knob, you enter the settings menu. When you long press the Multi-Function knob, you enter the main menu, not an advanced menu. There is no advanced menu on the FT-891! There is no EQ for receive! All of the EQ settings in the FT-891's main menu are for microphone transmit audio only. Most importantly, download the Advanced Manual (available on the Yaesu website as a free PDF download) and read it. It contains a lot of information left out of the supplied manual for the FT-891! FT-891 owner since 2018
I agree!
A clean radio is a happy radio..
I agree with that .
Hello, how could you open the band to 130,0000, I'm from Spain
I know of no way to expand the frequency transmit and received beyond what's already programmed into the radio. When doing the mod select the frequency range that best accommodates your needs.
Man I’m glad you shared this video. I’ve got one and now I can use it not only on GMRS.
I’m new to 891, bought it about 6 months ago, bought it used when I received it set it up made a few QSO’s all was good. Recently took it out of box and I have no receive audio, if I put my ear on top of speaker I can faintly hear receive signals. Connected a music player speaker to it still can’t hear it. Any suggestions what I could look at?
Try resetting the rig to factory settings using main menu item 17-01 and choose ALL to reset to factory. Any frequencies and other info that you have in memory will be erased so write them down so that you can re-enter the info after reset. If that doesn't work it may be time to get it looked at by a qualified and licensed electronics repair tech, preferably one who is an authorized Yaesu repair tech.
It would be nice if you could demonstrate with an SSB signal. EQ is for TX audio. Thanks for the video 73.
Putting it on an AM broadcast station was a waste of time.
That is an amateur radio you are modifying, it is not a Part 90 certified business band (BTW GMRS is Part 95). Look on the top it shows you the band split, no it's not a GMRS radio. I think you got confused. You still didn't show how to change it from one mode to the other.
