Myrtle Beach Pavilion Last Ride
Просмотров 47 тыс.16 лет назад
August 30th, 2006 - the final day of operation for the Myrtle Beach Pavilion is a ticketed event with a limited crowd of 3,000. TPS was there, and here's our tribute.

TPS presents this video, shot over Memorial Day weekend 2007 (Griffon makes its appearance in the last half - don't get all impatient!) Enjoy!
It's a vacant lot again no more zipline
Should've used beach music.
This is such an awesome video. Thanks for sharing this lol
I have great memories of the Pavillion, sad it is gone. 😪
Sad that it's now gone due to the cronyism and greed of Burroughs and Chapin.
How can they tear down a place that, over the years has bought so many joy and sweet memories only to replace it with....nothing?
Ever since 2006 Myrtle Beach has sucked...and always will. Thanks for the memory.
If traveling back in time was a thing I would definitely go back when this was still open
It's 2023 and I am still mad about this. My son was 2 when they tore it down. He never got to experience the shared joy and fun we did.
Same I was way too young to ride any of the big kid rides
Damn you Egerton Burroughs! You tearfully took away our Pavillion....rot in hell!
It’s even more sad that the rides that got moved to Broadway at the Beach aren’t even their anymore they’re just dead on the ground across the street
I really hope we get something big like this park in South Carolina in the future
Thank you for making this masterpiece. I've been attending Busch since '99 and it's my favorite place in the world. Old footage always makes me nostalgic.
I know this sucks so hard. It’s depressing honestly. I have SO many memories. I don’t know who’s in charge, but it’s never too late to rebuild, right?
Hopefully one day
man i missed out i wish i went to busch gardens when big bad wolf was still there oof still a fun theme park though, i've been going here ever since 2012, when verbolten opened. i was 6 1/2 at the time and 3 1/2 when bbw closed, why am i so young oof i keep missing out on stuff
Biggest mistake ever!!!!
To this day, one of THE DUMBEST decisions ever made in the city of Myrtle Beach. And now, 16 years later, FOR WHAT ????????? A stupid zip line ???????? Still makes me angry. So many great memories at The Pavilion. Not just for me, but millions of people. I also believe that it hurt MB tourism in general. But, what do I know ???
It’s a shame it was never brought back from the grave
I’ve watched vintage, nostalgic and tribute videos of roller coasters and amusement parks but this one always kills me on the inside
I hate that only two pictures exist of this parks Top Spin ride and even zero videos
I'm late
I’ll never understand why all for a volleyball court
Actually a Zipline is in this area as well as a ropes course
I was there the last day of the Myrtle beach pavilion. There was this sense of great sadness..it just permeated the whole area of the pavilion.
When they torn this down MB hasn't been the same
It’s even more sad that pretty much the classics that were bought to Broadway at the Beach are gone
I was lucky enough to let my childern play there......like I did....What a Damn shame....no interest in going back...
A mistake tearing that down, what do we have now???? An open field with a zip line.....and a spot for wack country concerts...........
There will never be a place like this here in Myrtle Beach again if you don’t count Family Kingdom
The pavilion should be a historic place.
It should have been protected as a historical place rather than torn down and demolished.
Wow this makes my heart ache
My cousin almost fell out of the rainbow ride at 3:15. She was 12 and very skinny, wearing a slick jogger suit. My sister looked over and she had slid down to her shoulders in the seat and then was pulled back up by my oldest sister. then they rode it 4 more times XD
Alot fun that place was at Myrtle beach made vacation fun going to Pavilion
Miss that place
The rainbow ride was all time favorite
I’ll bet Myrtle Beach regrets that.
I hope so
The Zipline their now always seems abandoned whenever I’m in South Carolina for vacation
Went here since I was toddler. I'm 27 years old and still to this very day remain angry and sad that they tore this park down because "they had a better vision of condos and hotels" yet all that sits there is a stupid zipline. Time to face facts B&C, tearing this place down was the biggest mistake you ever made. This place is what brought Myrtle Beach to life especially at night now all we see is a vacant lot. It's very sad that my nephew won't get to experience the memories me, my brother, my sister, my cousins, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts all got to back in those days. So thanks B&C... I hope they remember you.
If anybody knows me George Burr I go by rooster that grew up down there in the 80s get a hold of me I sure miss that down
I grew up in Myrtle Beach what a great place when I was a kid now it's all about the money I guess sure miss that place sure miss the magic attic where I used to go dancing as a teenager
Will not go back again
I ain’t been back Spence they removed all that and I won’t go back again. They ruined the beach for me...
Ugh, this is one of the saddest videos on the internet... I hope they salvaged Rainbow and Starship 3000 to use at carnivals or something because those were so iconic to the Pavilion. They could be immortalized in a museum for amusement parks (though idk how Rainbow would fit inside a building...maybe the seating section and the sun at the very least).
Greed!!!!............So sad!
Its all at Broadway at the Beach now :-(
It can NEVER be the same at Broadway. I am praying for some rich developer to come in and rebuild it just as it was someday. They would make a killing on it if they did, and they would be considered a HERO of Myrtle Beach.
@@zaneyone1 it’s gone from their now as well
I live in Myrtle beach..born and raised..countless memories as a kid going with my family..to getting older and going with friends and doing a bunch of crazy shit!!!! NOW IT'S A ZIP LINE IN PLACE OF THE PAVILION MAKES NO SENSE...
Great choice of background music. It brought back so many memories. We were lucky enough to be there closing year. My dad was from SC, so MB was our go to family vacation in the 70s and 80s. Then my brother and I started taking our own families in the 90s and on. We still go, but now we stay in Garden City since MB has just gone down hill. Thank you for sharing this.
My childhood died a little in 2006!!! Whoever decided to get rid of this icon of joy made a huge mistake.
Yeah screw you Burroughs & Chapman... you took away my childhood and I will never forgive you for it
I was actually there that day, just too little to be on the ride. But I did see my family in the video.
Too sad for me to get through to the end. The dumbest thing MB ever did was getting rid of The Pavilion.....sigh.
Hard to believe the powers that be allowed the Pavilion to close. It was the heart and soul of Myrtle Beach. Now they have Myrtle Manor and Black Bike week - the most disgusting display of civil disobedience and depravity. Nice going, Myrtle Beach.
Gottisanidiot I could not agree more!! Total disgrace.
The Pavilion was the heartbeat of Myrtle Beach, other than the ocean itself. They should try their best to rebuild what they destroyed as closely as possible. It would be the best thing they could do for the area.
