The decline of Rugby began around 2010 although the retail parks were planned well before this. The conservative council doesn't care a jot about the ordinary people of rugby and in the older terraced streets developers are allowed to convert ordinary houses into HMOs and bedsits. Where communities once used to exist we now have soulless streets strewn with litter with ageing cars blocking access. The larger retailers have moved out of the town centre which is now predominantly nail bars, tanning salons, barbershops and hairdressers and cheap shops. There is little for ordinary families, older folk or the young. And yet the voters here still return tories. Has the populous been radicalised?

Its so weird how it is in the UK and was. I now live in Germany and it still surprises me often how legal every part of this is here. Red light places with girls in the windows, sex prices on the doors, prostitution, it's all perfectly legal here. It is weird for me, even now lol

Kinda sad to see, I've lived here for around 12 years and the slow deterioration of the town centre is mirrored all over this country to a greater or lesser degree I know. I do feel this has been exacerbated by the council setting up the Junction One & Elliot's field retail parks which have choked the life out of the town, and due to the poorly thought out road layout combined with the volume of traffic trying to access the sites on the weekend make it a thoroughly unpleasant place to visit.
