You brought tears to my eyes, girl. I grew up in a home where my parents couldn’t find peace with each other. As a child, I was surrounded by constant arguments and bitterness. I made a vow to myself that I would never walk in their footsteps. They stayed together “for the sake of the children,” but it was a mistake that left its mark on all of us. My mum, wise in her way, always said that having children wasn’t the end of the world, that if things couldn’t be fixed, it was better to part ways, hoping that maybe, just maybe, your kids would be lucky enough to have two sets of happy, loving parents. That always stayed with me. And now, after a first marriage that didn’t work out, I’m in my second, and with my new partner of 18 years, we’ve made it work. My daughter is now 22. We all made it through, somehow. You put into words everything I felt as a child, the pain, the confusion, and the hope. It brought it all back. I miss you, Mum. Greetings from Poland.
