How To Create A GitHub Account And Repository
U r god bro :,) pd: Today there are more configurations, but just click "Done" and it will work, even if it says "probably will fail." At least that's how it works for me, haha.

Thanks man, worked like a charm on Ubuntu 24.04!
Worked, thank you!
Great Bro Nice Work
thanks
dam. most easiest installation i have ever seen. i did struggle thousand times when I tried to install windows 10 on my PC for the first time. and now first time installing ubunto and it's dam easy.
Hey despite installing the script, typing textfiles -h wont work It says bash files are created , yet i cant find the bash files
Try these instructions: 1. Download the script using curl: curl cis106.com/assets/scripts/tfi.sh -o tfi.sh This command should download the script and place it in a file called tfi.sh located in your current directory. 2. Confirm that the script has been downloaded sucessfully. Use the cat command for that. cat tfi.sh This should display the source code of the script. If you see any html in there is because you have a typo in the curl command or url you used. The script tfi.sh should contain only bash commands. Alternatively, download the script with a web browser by placing the url in the address bar. 3. make the script executable with: chmod +x tfi.sh 4. run the script with: ./tfi.sh 5. run the command: source .bashrc or restart your terminal 6. Now it should work as expected. If this does not work, let me know and Ill make a video about it.
@@linuxworkshop6337 thanks for the help.
I like the video, it's very helpful and also I like your style of explaining and the vibe❤🔥
Thank you!
Is there an equivalent to Windows Snipping Tool's Delay feature? Or a keyboard shortcut to take the screenshot (without clicking the program's icon)? Pretty important to take screenshots while going in dropdown menus or stuff like that you know... Thanks for the video!
I know that other screenshot applications are more feature reach than Flameshot. So likely other tools have this feature. I believe Deepin Screenshot allows you to do that but don't quote me on that as I only used it once a long time ago
Print Screen does it!
The native gnome screenshot tool right? I always replace it and never use it 😅
My machine has freeze after few minutes... Each times
Share details about your machine : - Os and Version: - Xorg or Wayland? - What happens when you launch flameshot gui from the command line? Ill try to reproduce the issue If running in a vm: * What is the Host OS? * What is the version of the Host OS? * Which hypervisor are you using?
Also, if you can share hardware specs of vm and host

Everything I needed in one video. Thank you, this was very helpful.💪💪
Thanks you for the comment! I'm glad the video helped!

Thanks for the lesson but your too first
Yeah! I'm trying to slow down my speech and screen movement but it is difficult to learn. Check out the newer version of this guide and also the site: cis106.com. Almost every video has a written guide.
wow... Thank you so much sir...🙂🙂
You're welcome. I am glad this video helped you.
This method still works perfect. Thank you!
You're welcome. I am glad this video still can help other people.
The video was straight forward with easy to follow steps. Thank you. There are other ways as well to remote access ubuntu desktop which i tried but didn't work.
Thanks for the comment. And I agree with you. While there are other ways of doing it, I find this to be straight forward and it does it job well.
why are you speaking so fast
my apologies I tend to speed up without even noticing. I am trying to slow down my speech.
u r the best just know it
Thanks for the compliment
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're welcome!
Muito obrigado, Querido! Resolveu por aqui
Fico feliz que este vídeo tenha ajudado você!
"Broken as Windows when you do a update" 😂
ain't that a fact! 😂😂
everytime i try to select bridged adapter, vm fails to power up, but works fine on NAT. why?
Try this: stackoverflow.com/questions/57407572/virtualbox-vm-fails-to-start-because-of-bridge-adapter-issue I have not had that issue before.
WORKED FOR ME !!!! thanks legend
Glad it worked!
Can you please write out the command line for i.e sudo apt update: sudo apt upgrade i dont know the symbol you write after this
can you tell me the time slot where I typed the command? I can then write it here in the comment.
also, I have a written guide here: cis106.com/project/webserverProject/ the command is probably there too
What did you do to my screen
Did it break your display manager or the whole thing? What are your hardware specs? I can add a disclaimer in the video description
Oh, sir. I have no words to thank you. GREEEEEAT. You really, really helped me!
Glad I was able to help
you're a legend
When u changed to Xorg all ur configuration got lost... How can I avoid that?
not sure how to since I don'[t use Wayland. However, I just created a new vm and in the last update it seems that Flameshot now supports Wayland. I need to do more testing but if you give me some examples of the configurations that go away, it will help me replicate.
Tks so much!!! Worked here!!!
danke

How can this run 24/7 ??
If you need a server to be ON 24/7, Virtualbox on your PC is only a solution if you are ready to pay that electric bill. For this scenario, you need a VPS (Digital Ocean and Linode are cheap and good). The purpose of this video is for local deployment and learning. For instance, if you are a student and need a server to deploy some application, this is great to test. You can use a Raspberry Pi, but those are not cheap anymore. However, Mini PCs are affordable; most run Linux with no problem and don't consume a lot of electricity. If you choose the Mini PC route, you don't need VirtualBox; do a physical installation instead. To access your server from outside your home network, use a Dynamic DNS service or port forwarding in your home router. The earlier is a better solution.
Is better use the comandos ( to realize a minimal instalation (interface only): sudo apt-get install mate-core (apps included): sudo apt-get install mate-desktop-environment) to install graphic interface. But the tutorial is verry good, helped me, more one like
While I agree that having a desktop environment on the server makes it easier to use, in the long run it hurts. The best way to learn Ubuntu server is CLI only because in the field, the server environment is mostly deployed as a container with minimal specs. Also, once you have setup the server and the applications you will host on, all of those software dependency for the DE are wasted space. The less packages and dependencies you have, the faster and easier it is to maintain a server. Also, thanks for the like! Much appreciated! 😀
thanks man you saved me
This is the most helpful video I've found, thank you for the ti about the IPv4 i had to update virtual box to get the IPv4 to match!
I got it to work but I did get a warning about _apt not having permission
Thanks! But what if I take a screenshot of a part of my screen, get a popup "Capture saved to clipboard" but the clipboard is empty? I can't paste the picture from clipboard. Nothing happens 😞
I have not encounter this issue before, could you give me reproduction steps and Ill see if I can find a fix for it
If you get a "Kernel Panic error" on installation, just be sure to have at least 2 processors. that's it.
A punnet of thanks to you for this excellent tutorial. Your ineluctable confidence and experience gave me the confidence to install the server version. Thank you so much! Garsoon coffee!
thanks so much for the comment!
Thank you so so much for this video, it is both fast and super easy to follow, great stuff <3
thanks for the comment!
thanks👍
when i settup and apply the netplan file all things worked fine from ping google to ssh but the access to the vm ip from my regulars laptop browser failled do you have any suggestions to fix that?
yes. How did you setup your network adapter in the virtual machine? is it NAT or Bridge? If you change it to Bridge your IP is assigned by the router and you will be able to access the server from your host OS. Also, you can do port forwarding. Here is a guide on port forwarding for virtual box: cis.com -> guides -> setup ssh guide (the first part of that document has an example)
@@linuxworkshop6337 i discover that i con ping my real computer from my vm server but cant ping my vm server from my real machine!
@@linuxworkshop6337 yes i qm using bridge
@@kaoutarboudouft3534 Its possible that your subnet mask is wrong. Can you confirm that both your host pc and guest os are in the same network (they have similar ips and the same subnet mask)
@@linuxworkshop6337 i resolve it by disabling firewall and enablih inbound/outbound thqnk you soo much

8:27(edit) I can feel you bro 😔 Btw great vid! Sub_count+=1
thanks for the sub!
Thanks!!
Great video. Useful info in short 10min. Thanks
Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. I faced a problem during the installation of the 22.04 LTS. I had to change the number of processors to 2, instead of just 1 as configured by default.
That's pretty interesting because 1 CPU is Canonical's recommendation. Did you see any errors in the VM log window?
