This is the best rendition of this song, ever!
Amazing!
whew!
Bravo to the professionals BUT especially for the young Master Savage ⭐️🎶🎹 🥰 Hope his future rewards him handsomely. Wonderful talent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Professional every note ,you can demand money if your that good, this is haunting music the year of the pussycat.
I was there for this one.
Thanks for supporting The Old Meeting House at this concert!
Lovely, you are great. This is a beautiful memory. Thinking of my piano. God bless you.
This is so beautiful, such good memories of my past, hearing the piano, you all are amazing players n you sing so gracefully. Makes my heart full of love, for music. Thank you my favourite Vodaphone for posting this video. God bless you.
Guitar hero
Congrats!!!!
Top ! Bravo à tous .
Can he do a remake for the "year of the mask" ? 2020 😅👍
WOWW!!! What a talented young musician playing with the great Al Stewart and the Guitar Man!!!! Bravísimo!!!!!!!
Kid looks lost with no idea what this song even means to people who lived it!
He's an autistic savant. He probably doesn't understand what the song truly means, but he can sure as hell play it.
Tim...Matt Savage is autistic - hence his quiet focus. He has since excelled and graduated from Berklee School of Music.
I will also mention that Matt and Al had never met, had never rehearsed. Al showed up 5 min. before show time and had changed the chords without notice to Matt. Good to know some back story.
@@itztru1 Hello!! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan!.... Stay safe
After playing guitar for 50 yrs, I started getting a yen to learn keyboard. Naturally "Year" would be one of the classic piano riffs that a baby boomer like myself thinks of when he thinks of "playing the piano" I finally picked up an entry level Casio 6 months ago and am really digging it. Unfortunately it only has 64 keys and had I realized it wasn't a full piano, I'd have spent a little more for an 88. It's a quality instrument though I'll give it that with a retail of only $99, it's a very good value.
Genial!!!!
mpravo matt..
I understand the need to applaud, but I wish people would wait until after the piece was done.
Yea well I'll bet they were playing at his own HS auditorium with his parents and sibs etc in the front row. You know how it is lol.
I'm not sure if this is your sense of humor or you aren't sure the sounds missing. . .
hi ! Matt savage you are the best!!!!!! i love you so much😍
Well this new series was short lived.
i wish for him to be protracted by good from evil eye, good lock dear sun.
I think he's pushing 30 by now. He was about 15 in this video and I think it was a couple years old when he uploaded it.
hey what happened to ur channel?
Beautiful music Very soothing music you guys got it together Superb. Frankie Day
TO ALL AL STEWART AND PETER WHITE FANS PHIL KENZIE The legendary sax soloist on all of Al Stewart's hits will be appearing at the upcoming "once in a lifetime" concert at The Royal Albert Hall on October 15th. This concert coincides with the release of Phil's CD, " A Night With The Cat" which will be available for purchase. A tribute to Al Stewart's artistry, it is an instrumental version of the magical lyrics of "The Year of The Cat". which will be enjoyed by all on this very special night.
my mind has melted
Hi Rhiannon, how about Power Pop or You Are Here? Thanks so much!
Dear Matt Savage, Do you have a piece you would recomend for a power point presentation. I'm doing it on autism and thinking about using your music. My son Nicky is the reason I'm doing the project for my class.
Like what my music teacher always says, "Music influences music influences music."
Actually 50% of all savants are autistic and born that way. The rest are usually because of brain damage or medical surgery.
Mc lovin??? jajajja...
Give him a laptop and a sound board.
I got to see Matt play at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in February of...I think 2011. Bobby Watson played with him. It was a spectacular show and is easily one of the best concerts I've ever attended. He has an incredibly bright future. I absolutely his music.
Wow, great tune, but I don't feel it as 33/8. Rather I feel it as two bars of 7/8 and a bar of 5/16 repeated. It still adds up to 33 to be sure, but it's easier for me to conceptualize that way.
I like electro, dubstep, heavy metal, progresive rock, orchestral music and jazz, not because I like one thing I have to dislike another... besides, there is no such thing as "unaltered normal music", music is always evolving, every new genre is an alteration of the music of its time, believe me, Jazz was considered not "normal unaltered music" during its time, some people even saw it as nonsensical noise just like some people see dubstep today
Matt. This tune is sensational. Have you ever heard the song Bulgarian Bulge? It's in very fast 33/8. You'd probably love it, it's by Don Ellis.
genius
i like techno and this one too
Your music is awesome!!! I wish I had 1/100th of your talent.
Man, sometimes I almost wish I was born with this so-called "incorrect" neural mapping. It seems his neurons were mapped just right for music! What a prolific prodigious savant brain. Jazz is hard enough to compose as-is, but this is just astounding.
Even more challenging is trying to find any sort of musical pleasure in glitch core.
Every time I watch this I crack up to see Matt keeping Al and Dave waiting while he goes on with his impromptu solo. And they are trying desperately to get him to give it back to them. Funny.
Hey Lisa, thanks for the update. That was a wonderful evening for everyone and I'm so glad we have the magic of RUclips to show it off to the rest of the world. We had talked prior to the event and I mentioned that I had by chance looked at Al's tour calendar and was floored that he'd be playing in of all places - Francestown, NH in Aug which just happened to be when we visit my sister-in-law (in Francestown). A serendipity of life for sure. I wish you much luck with your theater work!
PS to Hapster...You're correct that Matt and Al never met or practiced prior to this show. Incredible! Matt's at Berklee College of Music and continues to grow as an amazing musician.
Hello Haptster! Every once and a while I just have to watch this great video again! What a magical night, eh?! I loved being program director for the Old Meeting House (btw - seats 300) and these days, I am the vice-president of the board of Stowe Performing Arts in Stowe Vermont, where we moved 5 years ago. Best to you and thank you for your comments! Lisa
Thirty plus years later and this masterpiece still takes me back to the beauty and romance of Club Med Paradise Island where I met my lovely Wife.
O______O OH MY GOD.
that is jarring to my sense of timing!!
You like to discover music. When something is presented as being amazing, you immediately feel the need to reject it. It isn't the most complicated jazz, but considering that this guy was thirteen, you have to give him a hand.
I have to say, all those "unnatural" breaks make this song incredibly amazing. It moves my whole body.. I'm sure it looks awful, but I can imagine myself dancing to it
Can you believe this kid learned to play in one night ?
